I did not expect to like this ladder!

I had very low expectations for this ladder. My husband bought it against my better judgement and then I had to admit he was right! It works perfectly for what we need it for, but I can see how it wouldn’t work for everyone. We have a ski boat, but my mom and I have a hard (and embarrassing) time getting on the ski deck from the water. This ladder works perfectly for our needs!!

For us, this was not a smart purchase. We tried to use it to get out of the lake back onto the pontoon boat and it keeps going up under the boat. Not easy (at our age, anyway) to use to get out. Takes quite a bit of upper body strength.

First hand review + Pros V.S. Cons

I got this ladder for use with my inflatable boat. The ladder comes with a mesh bag for storage and folds up very easily (the folded up product is roughly 12"x9") The ladder suits my purposes and allows for easy access back onto my vessel. Pros: . folds up + comes with bag Cons: . not heavy enough to sink on its own, the ladder will swing under or to the side of your boat until you get your weight situated on the bottom step

Easy to use.

Brought this to use on our fishing boat in case someone falls over board. It has high walls and this will make it much easier to get back in.

Hysterically Terrible & A Cruel Joke

I sat here and read the reviews on Amazon and said to myself, "how bad could this ladder really be"? My wife and I were collegiate athletes, we're still in decent shape, clearly the ladder will be fine for us. Oh, how wrong I was! We have a 17' Key West CC without a swim platform. We like to take the boat out fishing and usually take a dip in the water to cool off - This usually leads to an awkward "pull yourself over the gunwale and belly flop back in the boat" maneuver. This ladder was supposed to solve that issue... The ladder itself is pretty hard plastic with nylon rope and collapses nicely into itself - That's about the extent of the positives. It's supposed to tie off to your cleat and, well, ACT LIKE A LADDER. Instead, as soon as any weight is applied, the ladder swings under the boat so you're essentially hanging there with no leverage to pull yourself up. I tried multiple times from all different angles, we tied the ladder higher thinking less of it would swing under the boat, nope. It's essentially useless - I use less energy doing a fully body pull-up getting back in the boat than using this ladder. I'd only recommend it as a gag gift for an overweight friend or coworker, because at least they'd get some humor out of it's terribleness.

I love it!

Exactly what I was looking for! We have a surf boat, which has no ladder on the platform. Having just had my second total knee I needed something to help me get out of the water. I hook this to the back towing ring and am able to get out of the water easily. Hangs low in the water, each rung is slip resistance, grabbing on to the rope with one hand makes it easy to use the other to reach up and grab the boat to get out. The ladder floats under the platform so I step on the first rung and swing my legs back so it doesn't go under the platform. Once I have my legs behind me I have no trouble climbing up it. Anyone who has bilateral total knees know they don't bend as well as real ones. A great ladder!

Can't live without

This is an amazing ladder. We bought 2 large D clips that are rated up to 309lbs. To attach this to the existing drop - down ladder on our boat. No more bending up into a pretzel to reach that bottom rung. Everyone can get in and out of the water easily now. With this extending our ladder it makes the last rung deep enough under water to not even need to strain or reach upward with first step. I feel it makes getting in and out safer. I am so happy we bought this ladder. I also like that it folds up really easy and comes with a mesh bag for storage. We store it under the back seat right next to where the ladder is out the back of our boat.
