Very compact and limited

I was looking for a smaller stool to use for travel and storage, and while I think this may fit the need from the description, it's extremely small in practical use. I would probably use more for a foot rest, than a sitting platform, and I think the marketing around this is slightly overpromising. It could also be handy for use as a table to keep objects off the ground, but you'd either need to be a very small person to actually use this in practice.

Very difficult to latch together

At first use, it's very difficult to latch together, it was almost like a chest press exercise to do it. It was actually quite surprising to see the stitching not coming apart from being stretched so tight. The subsequent times to latch it together gets easier. The fit is great, no wobbles from the pivot points even when the stool is not latched together. The welds are not pretty but there's minimal splatter and has adequate strength. It's a tiny tool meant for quick uses.

Very small chair

This chair would be perfect for camping or fishing. It is really lightweight and small but it still is comfortable and can hold its own. For reference I'm a 6'1 205 lb. male and it holds my weight without collapsing on itself. It folds up on itself and fits in this little carry bag that is included, thankfully its easy to setup and is self explanatory because everything included with it is in Chinese.

A tiny good chair

Overview: A very lightweight chair that you can pack anywhere but is extremely small and low to the ground. Pros: This is a very small chair, which means less weight for a short backpacking trip or a long day where there is limited seating. Once you get it built, it's pretty sturdy and comfortable for what it is. It actually makes a really nice foot stool. Cons: While it is lightweight and small, it is very low to the ground. When you compare this to sitting on the ground, this is a step up. If your hiking and don't want to sit on the ground and don't want to carry a larger (or buy more expensive lightweight chair) chair, then this is a nice solution. If you're going on a long 2-3 day hike, this chair is pretty bare bones, so you can't really relax fully since it has no back. The other interesting issue with this chair is putting it together. In theory, you just take the two snaps and put them together. However it requires a lot more strength than you think it should. I was worried it would break in two. But it hasn't yet and seems to be just fine. As I mentioned, this make a nice foot stool or for those who need the smallest chair they can find, this is it.

Sturdy, but VERY hard to clip open.

There are pros & cons to this item, but think ultimately it will depend on what you want it for. I ordered it as a footrest, as we have several camp chairs & thought a foot rest would be a nice addition. When I took it out, my initial reaction was it looks well made, my second was how the heck are those 2 pieces going to meet to get clipped. It was VERY difficult to get clipped closed. I am a middle aged woman, but I lift weights 3 times a week. I have muscles, yet it took a lot of force to get the 2 plastic pieces close enough to lock open. It cannot be used without clamping open. Once I attained that, it was sturdy. The canvas seat does appear to be quality material. This is a small piece, if using as a stool, it would be for kids only. It says in Amazon listing that it will hold 80 kg (approx 176 lbs), but I am not sure it would. Thought I might be able to use when gardening, but not going to happen. Very close to the ground, but as weight would depend on the plastic clamp, not going to try. It would be fine for young children though. Very compact & nice carrying case. So if you want for a young child or footrest, I think it would be great. Anything else, I might seek another item.

Compact, light, good for children

The S'more Iron Compact Camping Stool,Compact Portable Folding Stool,One-Step Installation, 600D Oxford Cloth, and Sturdy, for Outdoor Walking Hiking Gardening Fishing BBQ-Black: This is a compact easy to carry camping stool. The stool comes with a carry bag and folds flat. It is fairly light and small. Almost too small for an average adult, but if the adult has a narrow backside it’s comfortable for short term use. I feel it’s very good sized for children, but barely big enough for an adult. The width of the seat is under 11” wide and roughly 10.5” tall. Very very short, but is not an uncomfortable height. Too short to sit at a table though. Ok height for a fire pit. In my opinion the height needs to be doubled and the seat needs to be wider. It holds my weight, but it is a bit is wobbly on a level floor under my weight (190 lbs). The supports are steel rods and are secured on the bottom with a metal strap with holes in it. It took nearly all my strength, the first time, to get the strap to hook into the first hole. After the first time it got easier, “broken in” I suppose. Overall it works as intended. It’s compact and light, small enough for a mid to large Backpack, and children and allot of adults will find it just fine for camping and short term outdoor sitting. great for sitting by a fire pit, next to a lake, or near your tent. Too short for a table or work cart, too narrow for many adults backsides, and barely sturdy enough for a full grown man. To be clear I did not feel as if it would collapse under my weight imminently, but it was a bit wobbly. If you just need a small stool for gardening or a fire pit or for you kids, this will probably be fine, larger individuals will need to find something more though. I wanted this for sitting at a mobile work cart on location, unfortunately it is too short for that purpose, and the narrow seat will not be comfortable enough for me for long days of sitting. That’s mostly a me problem and not the fault of the stool itself. It does have it’s audience, I however am still on the lookout for something taller and wider with a similar form factor. I do like the design allot, I would like slightly better materials and tolerances, but both the fabric and the metal are nice enough for how compact and portable it is. The seat fabric is fine, just a bit small. I hate to keep harping on the size, because it’s very close to being great, my fault maybe for not paying enough attention to the dimensions I guess, or maybe not fully realizing what it is I really wanted. This definitely has it’s place in many campers backpacks, and car trunks for many outdoor activities. Just be realistic as to what size you really want and you will be fine.
