Love it!
I have long hair, maybe about an inch past my bra strap in the back. It's not thick or thin. If I don't blow dry it, it ends up partially wavy/straight/curly, and frizzy (not nice looking!). It's a pain to always have to blow dry it, and my hair lacks volume. I see people with gorgeous, full hair, and they don't even have to blow dry it. Why can't my hair be like that?! For whatever reason, I thought of trying hair rollers... Over the past two weeks, or so, I've tried several different types of hair products, and combinations of them, to use with the hair rollers until I found what works for me. I thought I would share in case it helps anyone else. When I first started using the rollers, it would look great initially, but then it would fall out within 20 minutes. Sometimes, if I used the curlers when the curlers claimed to be ready (after only two minutes of heating), it wouldn't hardly leave a curl in my hair. But I've figured out what works for me. Hopefully it'll be helpful to some people. And, the new way I do my hair, I never have to blow dry it anymore. It's awesome! Here's what I do: - Before bed, I shower. - I towel dry my hair, and then add 3-4 squirts of "Big and Sexy Blow Dry and Volume Gel" (I've tried different gels, and none have worked as well as this one!) - Then I go to bed with wet hair and wake up with a mess of hair. It's fun because I know it's going to look good in about 30 minutes. - Turn on my curlers for AT LEAST 15 minutes before I will use them (otherwise it's not hot enough). If you leave them on for a long time before using them, it does get pretty hot. Sometimes it's almost too hot to hold them. So, about the time I'm ready to use them, I'll open the lid for a minute or two before using them, and it helps not burn my fingers. - I put the curlers in my hair like this video says to do (thanks to the previous poster who left this video! It's helped tremendously). Here's the video (in case the link gets deleted, the name of the you tube video is "Beauty How To: Soft, Sexy Curls with Hot Rollers". You can search on you tube for it): <...> - With each bunch of hair that I gather to put in a roller, I spray it first with "Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Protective Spray". I spray it on both sides of my hair as I hold it up getting ready to put it in the roller. I make sure to spray the whole strand. This is important because at first I only did one side, and I also tried using less of the spray. But in order to get it to work and hold the curl, I needed more. I also tried doing this without the gel, and it didn't work. I was worried if I put too much in, it wouldn't dry in time, but it does. (I make it lightly damp, not dripping or anything!) - I use a combo of clips. As I was buying this product, I saw that some people like the "claw" clips and other people prefer the wire clips. I had no idea what I would prefer, so I went ahead and bought the claw clips so I had the choice. I use both types. On the top of my head, all of them are claw clips that I use (make sure you put them on correctly, and they won't let your hair fall out of the roller or flop around on your head.) The claw clips I bought are the Conair SPC10X Super Clips. It only comes with 10, but I use 12 hair rollers, so at least two are always wire clips. I don't use the wire clips on the top of my head, but I will use them around the sides/back. I've found them to work great too. I can't decide if I like the claw clips or the wire clips better. The video shows you how to use both of them. Sometimes I have to use two wire clips on the same roller - coming from both directions - and it'll help hold the roller still and in place. My only complaint is that with my hair (maybe other people's hair is different), I need two more rollers. When you watch the video, you see how she does the top, then when you go to the sides, there are two "special" spots on each side of your head that she says to go ahead and put rollers in. I don't have enough rollers to do those spots. So, I don't. It still works good. But two more rollers would have been nice! It's not enough of a problem for mark it down from 5 stars, though. - Anyway, once it's all on, I just wait until all the rollers are no longer warm. - Then, I take my hair out. I start with the bottom/back first and work my way up. I unroll them carefully so they keep the curl that was made. - Once I get all of the rollers out, I will spray it with "Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray". (I've tried different hairsprays, and for whatever reason, they really don't work as well.) Often on the top of my head, I feel like it's a bit flat - like I need more volume up there to balance out the curls and make it look really nice and full. My hair has a tendency to be really flat. I found this awesome powder stuff that works AMAZING. It's called "Big Sexy Hair Powder Play Volumizing & Texturizing Powder". I pour a little powder onto my fingers, flip my head down, and work it in my roots. I'll do it a few times in different spots to get everywhere that needs some lift. I don't know how or why it works, but it adds strength and lift to the hair. It's awesome stuff. I love it! My hair is no longer flat. It's lifting up and full looking - it looks MUCH thicker. I promise I don't work for Big & Sexy hair products! hehe. I realize most of the products I'm suggesting are from them. I've never even heard of these Big & Sexy products until the last couple weeks, and for those will bodiless hair - these are THE products to try! I can't tell you how excited I've been to learn about them. They are a dream come true for my type of hair! And, they really work. It's like magic. I'm excited because after I have a baby, I lose a lot of hair, and it gets thin looking up on top (I HATE it, though my husband claims he can't tell at all). These products are a life saver (or will be, once this new baby is born!). Anyway, then I do whatever I want with the curls - whether I want to work them out a bit or not. It's important to be aware that these cause BIG, LOOSE curls (that stay, if your hair is like mine, and you do what I suggested). They are not going to be small curls since the rollers are so big. They just give a whole lot of body and big curls. I spray them a few different times with the Big & Sexy hairspray. These products have worked awesome for me with the rollers. I like to pull back just my bangs and clip them back (I don't really have bangs. They are as long as the rest of my hair). Then the curls look great. It's SO FUN to have my hair looking fuller and thicker. It's something I've never had. As I said, I don't have thin hair (unless it's after having a baby), but I do have flat hair. I LOVE these rollers in combo with the hair products I mentioned. I tried other hair products/combos, and they didn't do the same thing at all. I love having full, thick looking hair. It's so fun to do my hair every morning! If you don't want actual curls, you can work them out, or just leave the curlers in for a shorter amount of time (or don't let them heat up so long). I might come back and show before/after pics, but I haven't gotten there yet. If you're not having luck, try different hair products. Sometimes it's worth paying for professional products because they really work better if you're needing something specific.

Volume and bounce for days
These rollers give excellent volume, and I don't feel they get too hot to handle reasonably, unlike some other hot rollers I've tried. If you're looking for curly curls, these are not the way to go, they're quite large for hot rollers and are meant for volume and at 1.75" and 2", they're very good at it. I got the set with the pins and they hold the rollers in place very well as long as they're put in correctly. The velvet flocking on the rollers helps keep your ends in place while you roll, very nice. The only reason I can't give a full 5 stars is that the heating element setup on the roller isn't great. Instead of a hole in the bottom roller where a hot rod goes through to heat them up, these have a split along the bottom going up the middle of the rollers, and it's very easy to get hair caught in that groove making them slightly more difficult to remove. All in all though, a solid buy if you want volume.

good
overall, I like this set. They get hot there a cute color love love love the clips it comes with because I have multiple sets of hot rollers and the clips can be a pain in the butt. The negatives are it takes at least 15 to 20 minutes to get really hot and the ends of the rollers are so hot. You can barely roll them in your hair. Like I said, I have multiple sets of rollers a different brands and this is the only said I’ve ever had were the ends are so hot you can barely touch them. It’s a little bit of a bummer makes it hard to use.

Oh, I don’t know.
The rollers are good, but I’m not an octopus with heat resistant arms/hands. The clips are too short and don’t good the rollers in place well at all. I usually put rollers in and go do whatever else I need to do and take them out at my leisure. These clips cause me to have to stay still and keep repositioning them. Why are they so small???? They’re supposed to work like little kickstands, holding the rollers in place against your head. These barely hold at all. :/

Works good but the rollers have to stay in for a while and the clips don’t hold well
I love these rollers, but they take forever to use and the clips don’t stay well. In all seriousness, wait a good 30 minutes before removing them or else the curls will fall. You have to put the clips in a very stiff way by closely scratching your scalp and they still fall out. I like the size of them, the clips are just very cheap and some of the teeth on mine after a few uses are already bent. I might try other brands or types of clips before these.

Gives volume to fine hair
I have used hot rollers in the past, but needed a new set. What stood out to me with how nicely the clips worked in securing the hair to the roller. I really like this set--the velvet like surface kept the hair in place (as best as could be expected with my fine, slippery hair). The only thing I noticed is that my had a bit of static when I took the rollers off. It was no problem though because I just added a little product and it was fine. Overall, very nice set of hot rollers if you are looking to add volume to fine hair.

they do what a hot roller should
I wish there was a way to tuck the electrical cord into the unit or clips and the unit, something. The cord drives me crazy. I also have to have a different container to keep the clips in. So technically next time, I will get one with places for the cord and clips

Love these hot rollers. Easy to use and fast.
If you have long hair, these are a must. It takes 90 seconds or less to heat up, 5-10 minutes to roll them in your hair (depending on length and practice), 10 min to let them sit in your hair (meanwhile you can work on something else as you get ready). And 5 minutes to unroll, store and finish your hair. They are perfect when getting ready for that big night out. I like the carrying case. It's easy to store, to use and carry. Not sure I'd travel with them, because I like to pack as compact as possible, but if you are going to check your bag, why not?

Amazing! Worth it!!
These rollers are my holy grail! I stopped using heat appliances on my hair but these are so gentle yet effective. It’s hot enough to create beautiful loose curls without the damage of hot tools. It heats up in minutes. I like to heat it up while I do my makeup. Then once I’ve had the rollers in my hair, I wait until they’re cooled to remove them. This is a beauty staple that everyone should have.

Don't wait any longer. It will change your life!!!
Amazingggg!!! Most times i shower the night before, i let my hair air dry. I just put in the hot rollers, do my makeup fast, fast and just before they cool down u take them off. Then, i run my fingers through once of 2 times, apply finishing spray where ur hair still looks normal not stiff and boom... You look like you went to the salon and spent $$$ on your hair. I love it cuz each time you use the rollers your hair style is different, u never know how it will look each day. I am a mom of 2, plus i go to school so it saves me tons of time daily! 15-20 min, my hair and makeup are done + i am out the door!!! Loveeee this product. Worth the money $.

Pins not great for fine hair
I have fine hair and was looking to step up my volume game. I debated a long time between getting a set with pins or with clips. I opted for pins based on some pro-pin reviews on this site. However, not only do the pins do a terrible job keeping these big, heavy rollers in place with my fine hair, but they also get really hot, leaving burns on my scalp and forehead. The rollers themselves are alright but I'd recommend getting the clips if you have fine hair. Also, the kit doesn't come with any sort of pin storage compartment (unlike other hot rollers), which is disappointing.

It's a No For me..
Well these did curl my hair Unfortunately I found them difficult to roll as the ends are quite hot. This set comes with clips which are supposed to eliminate demarcation lines or crimping. They do not. There is a VERY noticeable bump where they did actually manage to grab your head. That grab is never at your scalp either and also leaves an additional noticeable lump of uncurled hair in front of the crimp line. They don't hold the surprisingly heavy roller securely either. I thought I would get loose waves. Boy was I wrong. My adult daughter laughed and my visiting sister suggested I looked like Farrah Fawcett. No offence to 80's lovers but that's NOT the look I was hoping for! I had to use a large heated brush to remove the hideous poof of curl. I'm not talking about a wee little woof here. My hair stuck out a good 3½-4 inches. It was mortifying. Returned.

Good but does not hold curls/waves
Easy to use, very fast heating up, not too hot for fingers, and just enough rollers for my hair. Despite all the good reviews, I ended up returning the product because no matter how I tried using them, they would not hold the curls. First time, just the rollers on their own with no products and had them in my hair for about 20 mins, curls lasted for 1-2 hrs. Next few times, I tried various curl enhancing and heat protecting products (Alterna, Bumble, JVP, Oribe, Frederick Fekkai, Nexus), while keeping the rollers on my hair for an hour, maybe these measures helped a bit lasting 2-3 hrs. Then I tried some of these products again, kept the rollers in for 4-5 hours, modified the technique in which I rolled my hair into the rollers, and again maybe all these measures helped extend the style to 4 hrs max. I think the rollers are just not hot enough. Overall I found that despite its ease of use, it was not worth the hassle of doing everything else. And to give a comparison with my flat iron, I only go to 270-280F and I get tight curls that last for a week. For reference, I have very good quality dark brown Asian hair (think no breakage or split ends even after 8-10 months), moderately full in density, with length to my shoulder blades. This product is better I think if you have limper? hair that easily holds but if you have strong hair with its own bounce, probably pass, you’ll need much hotter styling tools to get the curls to stay.
