Easy way to add heat to a garage
I've tried electric heaters in the garage but about all they do is run up the bill. Plus they take a lot of amps so it reduces what I can actually use in the garage. So I thought I'd give this a try. I already had the propane tank. Incredibly easy to set up and turn on. It does require electricity for the fan but that takes a lot less than the heating element in an electric heater. My garage has an open ceiling to the rafters with vents in the roof but I still don't let it run that long. I also have a carbon monoxide detector just to be sure all is safe. I'm only interested in taking the chill off not make it short sleeve comfortable. It is loud, like a jet engine, too. Has a good length of hose to keep it away from the propane take. It works well enough for what I need. The starter wire is always on and in the flame. We'll see how long that lasts. I notice this isn't available as I write this. Hope that's not a bad sign...

works like a champ
a little smaller than the area I heat, but it handles it well, makes a tad bit of noise, but warms the place up, a little smaller than the ones that use fuel, but really like it, one thing to note, the ignition spark unit works all the time- I thought it was a defect till I called tech support- they said it sparks all the time...Hopefully it will last- it is a nice unit,I should have gotten the largest one, but the 40-60k warmed up a 35x35 area from 10f to 50 in about 30 minutes the first day I got it....light small, and will fit all grill tanks with the newer valve on top - the one that has threads on the inside as well as outside..BTW save money and have refilled at a Tractor Supply or likewise place- they fill the tank all the way and are a little over half the price of an exchange tank, which you only get 3/4 of a tank.

Easy to light - aim it where you need heat to be
Very simple operation. Once you have it connected to the propane tank and an extension cord, you turn the dial one-click and it lights and starts making heat. There's a cool blue glow from the flames deep inside the barrel of the heater. The cord is about six inches long, so you will need a short extension cord. Give it 30 minutes, and it will heat my 50 x 20 workshop from 15F to 65F. My workbench is in the middle of my workshop and I have this heater about six feet away, aimed at the workbench.

Remarkable heat for a small footprint
I purchased this heater to heat a 25X25 uninsulated garage in Maine in the winter (2012-13) while doing some remolding in the house. I needed to set up a workshop in the garage to do table saw, router, and sanding type work. This heater managed to keep the garage at or above 55 degrees on even the coldest days, some of which were at or near zero. It is easy to start, not as noisy as some forced air heaters I've heard on other job sites (although it still sounds like a jet engine), and remarkably efficient. I was using a standard 25 lb. propane tank and I honestly don't know how long they lasted because I wasn't the only one changing them. But I do know it was something north of 8 hours. There really was no downside to this unit with the exception that there was a "propane-ish" smell almost all the time. At first I was concerned that it was uncombusted propane, but after a day or so, I realized it was just the normal smell that comes with an open gas flame, which is essential what all heaters of this type do.

NOT VARIABLE HEAT!
This heater is fine IF you want only one speed fan that is LOUD!! The product information specifies that is has "VARIABLE HEAT SETTINGS". IT DOES NOT! I had it in 2 car garage and could not stand to work with it in there. I could hear it from inside the house! I had to return and pay for shipping both ways which I should not have to do since it is FALSELY advertised. It is the first time I have had to return any product purchased from Amazon (and I buy a lot!). Perhaps they meant to say that the angle setting is variable, but the HEAT output is not! This works well and if you have a bigger space maybe and don't mind a roaring blower then this is for you! UPDATE: I returned the item and was refunded by the seller plus return shipping. The seller informs me that Amazon controls the listing and that they are unable to change the listing to single speed. BUT they said they pulled the product listing to avoid confusion. I have revised my rating based on the fact that the seller refunded my money.

Really Basic but effective.
Small, ideal for areas from 12 by 12 to 16 x 16. Physically smaller than I anticipated but heats nicely. The drawback would be there is no electrical switch. The fan and the piezo ignitor run continuously even if there is no flame. You have to unplug it to get it to shut off electrically. It includes a regulator and hose. The heat level adjust knob works well. A thorough burn of the gas. This works well but for a few dollars more you might get a higher end forced air heater that has an electrical switch. But if you don't mind dealing with the plug every time this is a great little heater.

Nice quick heat for the garage in winter, when and where you need it.
This DuraHeat Forced Air Propane heater was bought to defrost the snowmobile in the garage after it's clogged up with snow on those big power days. Had initially purchased a Kerosene heater through a local retailer but that was a mistake. Not only did the Kerosene heater not ignite, it would have been a chore to try and maintain annually. Also the smell of kerosene is not all that pleasant. The DuraHeat has none of the issues that the Kerosene heater had. It's a breeze to ignite, comes with a long supply hose allowing you to position it well away from the propane tank and it puts out a lot of heat. Melting clogged up snow from all the nooks and crannies of the sled is super fast, within 1/2 hour the job is done, even in a -2C garage. We roll the sled onto a tarp and tent it with another tarp creating a tent and direct the hot air from the DuraHeat into the sled tent. Really happy with this purchase, we did not need the variable heat or even higher heat, this works perfectly.

SEEMS TO WORK VERY WELL. EASY SETUP WITH GOOD INSTRUCTIONS , BUT LIKE OTHER BUYERS WISH IT HAD A SWITCH FOR THE FAN OTHER THAN THAT I LIKE IT.
