VERY hard to remove stuff from letters

There are negative reviews out there for similar products made by other manufacturers, but I knew what I wanted and what I was getting - these are very small letters intended for fondant. I was hoping to use them for making homemade crackers. The product is as specified: small letters that are well made. The reason for the lower rated review is that I found it virtually impossible to remove anything from the letters. I tried them with frozen rolled dough of various kinds - crackers, cookies, etc. - and the only letters that were salvageable were ones with no holes like F, S, and K. Forget about A, R, P, etc. I used a toothpick to poke the dough out, leaving toothpick holes in the letter - the holes filled in when they baked, but if you were using fondant or something that did not get baked, I imagine you'd have little pin pricks in your letters. If you're using dough and not fondant, it needs to be frozen rock hard as well - the least bit of give and the dough was impossible to get out without mangling the letter. It was very frustrating and time consuming. Professional pastry chefs or bakers may know some secret that I would love if you would share with me, because they are very cute but I don't know if I have the patience to use them again. I don't know what the solution might be on the part of the manufacturer - maybe small pushers in the same shapes? They were also quite difficult to clean for the same reasons. I used a baby bottle brush to get in the crevices, which worked pretty well. Since I didn't use them for fondant, I can't say how well they work for their intended product, which is why I erred on the side of 3 stars rather than less.

Works well in polymer clay

I bought these clay cutters because I wanted smaller letters. These are about an inch in height. They are stainless steel and I bought them to cut polymer clay. Price wise they are middle of the road but I didn't want plastic cutters because I worried about the clay sticking to them. Actually thec lay sticks to these too and the clay becomes deformed or edges tear when trying to pull them out. However, I used a spritz of mold release and that made it work so much better especially for letters that had an inner part like A, P, B, D, Q, and O. The cutters are well made and worth the purchase.

great for personalized cookies

Because the cutters are so small, the dough tends to stick inside the cutter. I found that using a coctail fork or a toothpick to gently nudge to dough out makes it much easier to get good results. I use these to put initials on cookies. The kids,big and small, love them. I also make doggie bones, and with a very large bone, I can easily personalize with the dogs name..these cutters are the perfect size..

Cute packaging but to small

These cookie cutters are way to small to cut anything for my daughters lunch. Haven't tried baking with them but I can imgine the cookies would be small. I was rather disappointed in this item as I had hoped to write her name out in the lunch foods but they were WAY TO SMALL.

Just what I needed

I was filming a bento show for Scripps Networks and realized we needed alphabet cutters for the intro segment. I quickly got online and ordered these for overnight delivery. They arrived the next afternoon and we had plenty of time to get the intro filmed before the camera crews left. These were the perfect size for a bento box (they would make tiny cookies, though). I don't use them often, but when I do include words or letters in my bentos, these are perfect. I have used them on vegetables, fruits, bread, meat and cheese. Awesome!

Well defined, true shapes.

This is my second set of mini letters from this company. I keep one on our boat and one in our house and use them for decorating the pies I make. I tried another brand, but they weren't as good as these. These are sharp and I like the shapes of these letters better. They are more true and well defined than the others I tried. Removing the dough takes some patience, but I use a blunt cocktail skewer and it doesn't dent the shapes. t would buy them again. Great product.

Takes a bit of practice, or a bit of patience, to get letters out whole

Purchased as bento starter. They work quite well, but getting food *out* of them undamaged is the trick. Hope you have some little food picks handy. And peanut butter, to "glue" letter parts back together again once out of the cutters.

Perfect for pies!

Love them! Used them decorate my pies! And the tin is a perfect way to keep them. However, make sure you hand wash them and dry, i wouldnt want them to get ruined by placing in the dishwasher.

Rusts right aeay. Terrible matetial used

Great until they get wet. Rusted seconds after water hit them. Terrible product.
