Great place to identify needle sizes

A great idea if needles are your life. I got new needles for a project and wanted to keep the sizes separate without keeping the packaging. I only needed 3 and was willing to pay more than for 10 test tubes with questionable quality. There is nothing to question about the quality. I had to double check if the cap’s screwed on they fit so tightly. The holders are thick, hard plastic (like a refillable cup with a straw and lid) and the magnet is a genius idea: you can turn the tube upside down without any fear of loosing a needle and easily choose a single one. That said, I don’t have a wide ranging collection or truly need to know the size badly enough to justify paying for these again. For me the labels were a bonus. I’m glad because I bought size 24, 26, and 28 tapestry for cross stitch and can only use one. The labels cover a wide range of needles, a few sizes each. I’ll label them myself.

Good product, but don’t store needles tip down

Like these little needle holders, but when I was storing the needles with the tip down, they would get stuck between the magnet and the side of the tube. Problem was easily solved by storing the needles point up, and I’ve had no problems since

Works well WITH modifications

I am making a tiny sewing kit for travel. I certainly hope never to need it, but a seam can break open anytime and anywhere. I needed a small tube to safely carry needles. I had read the reviews stating there were problems with the magnet. I didn’t really understand what the problem was so I bought this anyway. Now I see… the little magnet slides freely up the length of the tube. I can see how the points of small needles could get wedged in between the magnet and inside wall of the tube. The tube narrows at the top so the magnet cannot be removed. This tube is actually a bit bigger and longer than I thought it was. My sewing needles are typically shorter so really did not need the added length of this tube. I dislike being stumped by a little piece of plastic. I retrieved my craft materials and used my tiny miter box and saw, then cut about 3/4 inch off the bottom. The magnet slid out. Using some 2-part epoxy putty, I fashioned a new bottom for the tube. Now its perfect! A shorter length saves space in my sewing kit, no magnet to fight with, now I have the simple little tube that I wanted all along. Easy-peezy.

Exactly what I needed

These little jars/bottles are perfect for my cross-stitch needles. I wanted a cleaner way to store the needles than in just their package. I did not utilize the labels as I don't mix different needle sizes together. So I used my label maker to make quick little labels for the size needle in each bottle. The magnet works extraordinarily well. The top pulls off easily but not so easily that I'd accidentally open it unintentionally. They are the perfect little size to put into my embroidery floss storage when I'm done stitching for the day.

They’re practically imposs

These storage tubes are very sturdy and thei design is very clever, but these tubes are very difficult to open. They only way I’ve found to do it is to find something small enough to force between the tube and the cap and pry it opened. I tried it with my thumb nail and not only did I wreck my nail polish, but I wrecked my nail! If anyone knows an easier way I would really appreciate the advice, but as it stands now I give this product a big ????????
