Thread spools fit!!!

The perfect case for organizing threads for paper and hand piecing. If you can’t see your threads, you can’t use them. This case was used to blend threads from two stashes by color. The case holds, by my count 108 spools - two internal trays each holding 54 spools in 5 rows: 11 per row on the outer 4 rows and 10 in the inner row. The clasps are sturdy and the handle folds out of the way. The case will keep these beautiful threads dust free. These quality threads keep well and are gradually used over decades so this is key advantage to this type of case. This case is sturdy enough to last beyond my own sewing career and pass along to another quilter I looked over a lot of thread storage solutions. This case beautifully organizes the Gutterman and Mettler threads - both the small 150M and medium 200M, 250M, 500M and 800M all fit well. Had 2 YLI pearl cotton 100 yard spools and they also easily fit this case. This was the perfect solution for organizing the type and quantity of threads from two stashes. The case is a good value as high quality thread is not inexpensive. Ordering the colors revealed duplicates and gaps between the two sets. Every spool is now visible and at the ready for English paper piecing and appliqué sewing projects.

was exactly what i needed

i am just a hobby sewer. doing some light mending/altering/little hobby stuff. i do not have a dedicated space for sewing. i store my stuff on a book case when not in use. SO i needed a way to store my thread with out it getting all tangled up. this case is perfect. i now -neatly- have all my bobbins and thread stored. was even able to toss a pair of scissors in there. it is not the thickest/sturdiest plastic. i would not set anything heavy on it. but other than that- it is great for thread organizing. the latches are very secure. i would buy again if the need arose...

The latch was broken

It arrived with one broken latch which seems to be a defect with this particular bin as I have another one with the same problem. The rest of the plastic sturdy though. Also, regular spools of thread like Coats and Clark won't fit. Only the more slender thread spools will fit. Wish it would have worked for me.

Fits Guterman All Purpose 1093 yards great!

I bought this for my wife to organize/store a new 50 spool set of GutermanAll Purpose thread. The threads are 1093 yards, and the thread dimensions are: Width - 1 3/32 inches/3 cm Height - 3 inches/7.5 cm As you can see in the photo, the 50 full Guterman spools take up about 2/3 of the case and then she added some smaller spools in the remaining space. I have no doubt that about 20 - 30 more full Gutterman spools would fit if needed. For some reason, in some areas, the spools were a "snug" fit, so we skipped a spindle where needed. The lid closes with no issues and does not touch the spools. I suggest looking at the dimensions I listed above and doing due diligence if you are considering this item. I purchased specifically for Guterman spools and am overwhelming satisfied with this storage bin. Great value and works great!

I was thrilled to receive this a day earlier than expected, and it is exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this product for anyone who has a lot of thread they need to keep neatly stored. Holds my thread nicely- I do a lot of sewing and quilting. This satchel now holds all my quilting threads, and I may get another to hold some additional all-purpose threads I have. I was able to put the corresponding bobbins underneath the spools of thread. The depth of the satchel even accommodates larger thread spools with bobbins under. Some of my largest spools are 2.5 inches high and, and the bobbins fit underThe spindles are a little close together, but you can fit more spools in if you alternate small and large spools. I did not do that in my satchel, because I like to separate my spools by rayon, variegated cotton, metallic, etc. If I alternated large and small, I could definitely fit almost twice as much thread in the satchel. Easy to store - I previously had my thread on a wooden thread holder with little wooden spindles. The spindles were too short for the larger spools, especially when I wanted to put the corresponding bobbins with the thread spools. And I always had a difficult time storing it, because it folds out like an easel and takes up a lot of space. With the satchel I am able to close and lock the lid, and I can store it vertically if needed. After I loaded the thread spools, I closed the lid and flipped the satchel upside down as a test. None of my spools came off the spindles. Removable trays - The trays have little finger grips to make removal from the satchel easy. This feature comes in handy if I want to take only part of my thread stash to my sewing table. Good value - It is a good price, comparable to other stores, but the shopping experience is easier of course.

Great thread storage.

This is a great storage for your cottons, holds lots and keeps them far enough apart to still be able to see colours clearly. If i were to suggest a minor design tweak, it would be to make the box, and the posts, 6mm or so deeper so matching machine bobbins you have wound can be stored on same post as main spool. Its ok with older style spools, the short fat type, but more modern gutermann, coats moon, etc are too tall to add the bobbin as well. However, this is NOT a complaint, only a suggestion. The box is sturdy, well made, the clips feel secure and like the will last, and being able to life the racks out is useful too. Highly recommend!

Holds alot and easy to see the colours

I've filled it half way already. It holds all my different styles of spools, which some are quite old so are on the old wooden spools. I like that I can organize my threads by colour and easily see the colours. It's like a suitcase. I gave it a 4 star rating, because someone else noted that the clasps to keep it closed appeared weak and might break. I have other containers with much stronger clasps than these, but if looked after and not treated roughly, hopefully they will last. If they break, the case will stay closed when laid flat, one just wouldn't be able to carry it around like a suitcase. I would recommend this product for storing all your thread spools. I'm glad I bought it. All my threads were spread out in various containers before.

I can now see what threads I Have

The box does hold lots of threads and it is sturdy like most things if you could move the prongs around some closer some wider it would be excellent, It does what I need though I can now see my threads at a glance so maybe it will stop me buying duplicates .

A sturdy and useful thread storage. I filled the box with all my sewing threads, they are all now in one place. I would recommend it.
