Worked well first few months, now toddler just climbs up and unclips/opens it
Update:: It worked for the first few months, but at age 2.5 he just climbs up and unclips it himself (even if it’s at the top of the handles, no where else to put it) Initial Review:: Works well for keeping toddler from ripping open doors (already broken a few lower shelves in the doors by hanging on them and everything rattles around with the force he uses!). Now he just come to us and signs “help” before even trying One clip end has a “knob” that stops it from pulling out of the latch and I wish the other end had it too. That end’s clip has “teeth” after it’s threaded through, but the strap pulls out sometimes for us since it’s a tight fit. Wish the strap was just a bit longer as well. We have a Kenmore Elite double door fridge with bottom freezer drawer and it almost doesn’t clip each time (maybe will stretch a bit more with use, it’s pretty thick/tough rubber but only a few days in)

Works if you buy 2
i bought this to lock our pantry closed (it has double doors with lever handles that don't turn they just pull open.). It works well to keep my shelf-scaling 2 year-old from the chocolate chips- but only by using 2. As other reviewers have mentioned, one was definitely not long enough. The handles are pretty close and I don't see how 1 strap could fit around refrigerator handles either. And the adjustable end has no stop at the end of the strap so you really can't have it lengthened all the way or it will slide off. But having 2 is the perfect solution. They buckle in a loop and I can tighten them with enough extra strap (about 1.5" in my case) that they won't slip open if pulled on. It's the same as an average stroller buckle, so any child that can undo one of those can open this, unless you are putting it out of their reach. My 4 and 6- year olds have no trouble, but the 2 year-old can't open it. Perfect for my situation.

Works, but it can travel easily
Does what it's supposed to by keeping my toddler from ransacking the fridge. I think I'd like it more if there were a magnet or something on it to stick it to the fridge when it's not clasped around the handles. Right now my gripe with it is that it has a habit of "walking off" if I set it on the counter

Works well but make sure there is extra strap length
This barely fits around the handles on our counter depth french door fridge, which would be fine except one end of the strap has nothing to stop itself from popping out of the buckle like the other side. It works itself loose after a few uses so we are constantly re-threading it through the buckle. Not a deal breaker, but annoying. I don’t think this would be necessary if there was extra length on the strap. It does keep our 2 year old from opening the fridge and we can place it high enough on the handles so she does not mess with it.

Sanity Saver
For our refrigerator, we need to have the strap at full extension, so I'm always afraid that the strap will disengage from the latch, but it hasn't failed us yet and this is one of the very few safety devices that foils my son without foiling the rest of the family. One side of the strap has a rounded end to keep it from slipping off the latch part -- I just wish the other side did too. That's my only complaint though - the important thing is that my son no longer stands in front of the open refrigerator or tries to get the milk out. He hates that we can thwart him -- but we giggle with glee at the same time. Wonderful item!

Cheap alternative to obese toddlers
2 year and 4 year old 0 - Refrigerator 1. We were looking at our local hardware stores for somehting like this but what they had wasn't quite what we wanted. Its basically a seatbelt strap for the frig handles. It does the job well. I like the fact that it doesn't slide down like I first thought it would. You can adjust it and it is high enough that the kids cant reach it. When you need to take it out it is simple to undo and sit on top of the frig until you need to put it on again. Cheap alternative to obese toddlers and high grocery bills. Would recommend to anyone. Shop On!

Rubber not long enough
This works with our side by side fridge and freezer, but barely. We had to adjust the clasp to the very end of the rubber strip to fit around the fridge and freezer handles, which is fine when the strap is latched. However, once there slack in the rubber (whenever we need into the fridge and have to release the clasp) the clasp on the adjustable end of the strap falls off because we had to adjust it so close to the end of the rubber. This is such a ridiculous flaw, since the company could have cut the rubber strip an inch longer with little to no cost. Our fridge and freezer are Sub Zero style, extra large side-by-sides. So, the door on each of them was heavy enough for our toddler not to be able to open until recently.

Exactly what I needed.
This is a very effective way to keep children out of the fridge between meals. I have kids that want to graze all day and then not eat a proper meal and this works very well to help ensure they get more nutritionally balanced meals.

Doesn’t fit a kitchenaid double door fridge
Doesn’t fit my fridge. Doesn’t even wrap around once. You would need two to daisy chain and then it would work.

Nice Product, easy to install
I am glad that I bought it as it helps to prevent my son opening the fridge door without permission.

So short.
What a horrible design. The belt is incredibly short, and the adjustments can only be used to make it SHORTER.
