Good colored pencils, but not ideal...
These are really nice erasable colored pencils, but not very ideal. I had high hopes for these because I'm a big fan of prismacolors, but there are better options. I've used the crayola erasable colored pencils in the past and those erase better than these. These are more for light sketches. Also, they don't sharpen very well. The purple-colored pencil for me was the hardest one to sharpen. Every time I sharpened it, the point would break. The same day I got these pencils, the purple one was already almost a small nub, and I hadn't even used it yet! I was only sharpening it! I'm not too annoyed by it since I don't use the purple one often anyway. I still like sketching with these from time to time though, just to add some color to my sketches rather than using graphite pencils.

Every traditional animator uses these
I have worked in the animation industry for many years now. These are the pencils that nearly everyone uses. You can do the under- drawing in red or non-photo blue and then draw on top with a darker color. Easy to see through allot of pages on your light table. HOWEVER, Amazon does not sell these in single colors. You have to buy the variety pack and that's inconvenient

Actually Erasable
I've used other brands that claim to be erasable but always leave behind color or markings on the paper but not these, they are true to their word. They're great quality and it's easy to fix mistakes that don't destroy your artwork in the process

They are good and are expected to be. Consider cheaper sets if you cant afford these.
These are favored by most artists and deserve most of that praise. However, they are not SO exceptional that they surpass all others. Yes, they have a nice color saturation and blend fairly well. There are others almost as good that are coming out though. I dont know if its vecause manufacturing is cheaper than before ir if the cost of raw materials is lower now,but there are other pencils giving this one a run for the money. If you can afford these and prefer these then by all means go for it. I csn say however that these will not make you a better artist. If you are learning to use pencils and are expecting that these will make your work appear at a whole otber level, they wont. If money is tight or you are a beginner, you can try a less expensive pencil set to practice with and then move up to these. If you csnt afford these then don't stress yourself. Ifbyou want them REALLY badly then buy a small set and purchase yhe colors you will use the most. My daughter draws EVERY SINGLE DAY, and she rarely goes to this set of pencils just because they cost so much more. She wanted them because some fellow artist said how great they were. She found out for herself that artists can be like fashion divas and throw out those better named products. Its all in the eye of the beholder...

Great pencils!
I love these pencils and cannot wait to use them, when I got it the package was a little messed up but the pencils were still in good shape so that didn't matter, ive seen them get used and I love them a lot. for someone who sketches a lot I love using these to sketch with, plus you can erase them easily and I love that about them! would buy again!

Be gentle sharpening, otherwise you'll waste your money!
Per my husband "these aren't graphite. you have to be gentle". I tried sharpening these and had a few minor casualties because I was pushing the pencil too hard into the sharpener. If you want to avoid losing part of the pencil, be careful when sharpening them. Also, in terms of erasing these seem just okay and not excellent. I use erasable pens from frixion that work far better than these do in terms of erasing. Got them for an anatomy coloring book, so hopefully they will be of some use.

It is my first time using a prismacolor product and they really are good. The only downside I have to add is ...
I am really enjoying using these pencils, sketching in colour really makes drawing a whole lot more interesting. It is my first time using a prismacolor product and they really are good. The only downside I have to add is that the colour does not entirely erase, with any type of rubber. So be warned, lean lightly with the pencil until you are confident with your lines. If you are purchasing from the UK, as I am, it does take a little while to arrive because they are only made in America unfortunately. However, this is still a must buy! Thank you Prismacolor

Broken on arrival
These should have been good, they are high quality and what I needed. However, I will buy these through an art shop in future, as Amazon don't seem to look after expensive art pencils - these arrived in a broken parcel, pencil box sticking out, with a ripped corner on the box. Initially hoped it was just the packaging. On sharpening the new pencils today, found many were unable to be sharpened and unusable due to having the lead broken in multiple places. Pieces of lead fell out continually before reaching a point they could be used. Extremely disappointed.

Takes a little while to get used to
The coloured lead doesn’t act like a pencil. Despite seeing these very much glamorised online, you have to press a little harder than I’d expect to get distinctive lines (visible lines). Also, these barely erase the colour. I can use a rubber on my polychromos pencils with more success than with these. I’d say spend less, buy ordinary coloured pencils abs a rubber. They are good for beneath alcohol markers - but the colour doesn’t erase in my humble opinion. Disappointed.

I'm not happy with the state of the pencils.
The blue and red pencils don't have any lead/ pigment in it. Its just the wooden shell. Can't exactly draw with that. The green and black are cracked down the centre so I need to be careful when sharpening. Because of this I can not rate it more than one star. I do very much like the pencils that are useable though. Please bare in mind that there pencils are for to add light colour to drawings and to make an underlying sketch that won't muddy when you used water colour or pens over the top of it. Not for fully pieces of art work.

like not any more than a standard coloured pencil would ...
honestly? not worth it. they dont really erase? like not any more than a standard coloured pencil would which is very misleading since "erase" is in the name. like, you can sketch with any standard coloured pencil and when you try to rub it most of the pigment will fade just like with these. also, this may just be an issue with the pencils i received but the led must've pretty broken up inside because it kept breaking multiple times before i could finally sharpen to a sharp point. with the black pencil i literally sharpened half way down before i could actually use it
