Wish I'd purchased this yrs ago!
Arrived intact - no rust (Used - Like New option) I have cast iron cookware, if you take care of it, should last a lifetime and then some. HEAVY but very well made. After cleaning/ drying, placed on cutting board so it wouldn't scratch the counter. Easy peasy to assemble. Tested making approx. 10 tortillas. Used a heavier gal. sz zip loc bag cut into 2 pieces. Spritzed middle of top/ bottom pieces once w. olive oil spray. Place golf ball sz dough between spritzed sheets, smooth out wrinkles. Pull lever down (not too hard), lift. The bag covers the hinged areas so they don't get messy. Turn sheets to opposite ends, press again. Beautiful round tortillas, not too thick/ thin. Gently peel top bag from tortilla. Lifting 2nd bag, place tortilla side down, in your hand. Peel zip loc bag from the tortilla (DON'T try to peel the tortilla away from the bag) Quickly slap onto hot griddle - no oil- 45 sec.s to 1 min. each side. PERFECT!! My husband loves these as quesadillas rather than using flour shells. Very HAPPY with his purchase!

Awesome tortillas press/excellente prensa para tortillas
Reseña en Español abajo. This is the best tortilla press I've used, hands down. I've used a LOT of them and this one is the best by far. Let's get some things out of the way. The press is CAST IRON and as such, it has to be treated with special care to avoid rust. Do your research on how to care for your cast iron. Personally I just clean with a humid towel and dry, spray or use a bit of oil in a towel and rub it all over. Really easy to do. On to the use....this press does everything, from thick to make gorditas or as thin of a tortilla as you like. I am not going to go into detail on how to make dough and how to press. Do that on YouTube or somewhere to LEARN how to make tortillas. I saw a lot of reviews giving low scores because of people that don't know how to use it and care for the press. Just know this... Making the best thin tortillas, takes time and practice...a lot of practice. Yes... You will have to turn and press several times. I just want to let people know that this is a perfect tortilla press and will last a lifetime. Take the time to learn. I just wanted to let people know and be aware of reviews that say that the press is not good quality or doesn't work correctly, they just don't know how to use it. Nothing to do with the actual product.

Wish it was just a little bigger
While it is a high-quality product made from super-durable HD iron and manufactured in Colombia, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with the size. The tortilla press works well and is very sturdy, but I found that the 8-inch size was just a bit too small for my needs. When I placed the dough in the press, it would often go all the way to the edges and not flatten evenly. This made it difficult to get consistent results when making tortillas. If the press was just a bit bigger, it would be absolutely perfect. The durability of the product is undeniable, and I appreciate that it is commercial-grade, which means it can handle frequent use. However, I do wish that it was designed a bit differently to allow for larger tortillas. I would give the Victoria 8-Inch Commercial-Grade Cast-Iron Tortilla Press a four-star rating. It's a great product that is well-made and built to last, but the size limitation did impact its performance for me. If you're looking for a smaller press, this would be a great choice, but if you need to make larger tortillas, you may want to consider a different option.

It’s heavy
First of all it’s made by a well and it’s solid Cast iron I was a little bit disappointed about the pins they used that pin the handle and plate there kinda cheap but easily replaceable if needed. Second it works great for Corn tortillas. Just remember to use wax paper so it doesn’t stick to the plates. It makes a 8” corn tortillas perfectly as long as you use the right amount of dough. I used a scale to weigh out the dough before pressing. I’m getting the bigger one next. Third I tried making flour tortillas, I prefer to roll them out. It does save time on making the Corn tortillas. I recommend to my friends

Top Drawer Quality. Heavy Duty rugged casting.
I’d give this press 6 stars if I could. Casting is rugged and flawless. Very well seasoned. Made 16 5” tortillas in no time. The key is to use two cast iron fry pans. One on medium, the finishing one a little hotter than medium. Preheat. Use no oil. I also use two separate uncut zip lock bags. Make your dough using directions on Masa Harina bag. Roll a ball of masa harina about the size of a golf ball. Flatten slightly with your palm. Place on press covered with zip lock bag. Then place other zip lock bag on top of ball. Close lid and press lightly with lever. No need to press hard. End result is a 1/8” thick approx 5” diameter tortilla. Lift top zip lock plastic carefully then slide lower zip lock onto your palm. Tortilla peels off easily. Then into first pan. 15 seconds.Flip after 15 seconds onto second side for another 15 seconds. Then transfer onto the second hotter pan for 30-45 seconds. It will puff up. Then remove. Meantime prep another ball of dough onto press and have it ready for the transfers.Beautifully easy. You will be able to keep the assembly line rhythm once you get the hang of it. So easy and seamless. I found using a complete zip lock bag for each side makes it easier to make and peel off the tortilla. I suspect the double layer of plastic allows for movement without pinching the tortilla. Very pleased with this purchase. It’s a lifetime purchase and next I will try white and whole wheat tortillas. Washed complete press in very hot water and dried it off. Noted the beading of water on every part of this very well seasoned press. All edges nicely rounded and finished. Beautiful casting. I love cast iron cookware and have very fine and some very expensive pieces. This one is definitely a keeper. This press I will experiment with drying flowers and stems. One or two layers. Cover each side with heavy plastic so no moisture rusts the press. Lock lever with an appropriate weight.

I couldn’t go back to rolling tortillas by hand
It’s sturdy and easy to use. Press and turn a few times to use don’t press too hard. I’ve also made naan bread also and just don’t press as many times.
