Very well made, best pre-seasoned pan in the market

Most cast iron pans these days aren't finished smooth like they used to in the 80s and also 90s. Nothing to beat my Lodge 10" (pic attached) from early nineties, which was my favorite on gas stoves. One issue with old Lodge set I have is the bottom isn't perfectly flat for glass top electric that I currently have. Why this time around, looking for a perfect 12" pan with very short side flanges for tortillas, dosa, roti etc., went for Victoria. This Victoria pan is the best I could find. Fully seasoned with flaxseed oil. As for the surface, this was the smoothest in the market. Nothing like the Lodge in the picture available today. Sides are quite short for cooking flat items like tortilla or pancakes. Just got the item today, did a quick rinse, applied oil and cooked. It worked perfectly. Very happy with the purchase. Price was also very attractive. I'm sure with more cooking, it will get seasoned better. Highly recommend.

Durable moderate weight cast iron pan

This is my 3rd cast iron pan purchase. Of all the ones i have purchased from other brands, this seems to be of great quality. Please purchase a handle cover because the handle seems to get hot. Once the pan is hot, lower the stove temperature because it retains heat unlike regular pans. It is seasoned well with flaxseed oil. After washing, reaseason lightly with an oil brush and wipe with a paper towel. I have made crepes (dosas) using this and they turned out great with little to no oil.

Perfect Pan for DOsa's

Earlier I used NonStick, planned to stop due to some crazy stories and decided to Use Iron pan which I never ever tried before. Ordered some but dint worked out but THIS specific pan is something(Had little challenge seasoning it first day due to lack of knowledge) After that making dosa is been seemless and crispy. I would definitely come back after couple uses and add my review.

Comal review

Until this purchase all of my cast iron was either Lodge or Griswold, very solid and very old, so I was hesitant to buy any other brand and even looked for a Lodge product to use in place of this, but could not find one that suited my requirements. Needless to say, I use this quite often and have no regrets at all. The finish is excellent and so far very durable. I do not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone, I am very pleased with it.

Perfect Dosa Pan

Well built and even heat distribution. Perfectly seasoned. I however did a light seasoning with cooking oil and onions, so that Dosa comes out without sticking. Perfect dosas every time so far. I do wash with warm water and soap between uses and the seasoning still holds.

Versatile and dependable.

We’re so glad we bought this. We had been looking for a double griddle for our new induction range, but ended up with this bc all the griddles get such bad reviews for contact / heat distribution. This comal does the job perfectly, with great contact and heat distribution. It’s big enough for 2-3 servings: I can make three biggish pancakes at a time, fry three eggs, all with easy flipping room. For quesadillas and grilled cheese it heats beautifully. Very non stick from the get-go, we’re treating it gently as with any cast iron but it seems super robust. I’d 100% buy this again and would even give it as a gift.

The right size

Uniform heat distribution. Easy to clean. I do love the size. I'm using it on a gas stove. It just works great !

Meh

Everything sticks and cant come off. I oiled it before use to be on the safe side. Washed it immediately and quickly in warm water. Dried with lint free cloth which becomes black everytime so clearly the finish is very surface. Probably need 100 years of use to be properly seasoned and my great great great grandchildren can get the pleasure denied to me
