Much improved

Arrived the day after I ordered it. I bought a similar one with the same brand years ago and has the inner bowl vertically cracked in 2 places and the non fenestrated inner bowl has separated from the upper fenestrated part. The outer bowl is fine even now. I still use it tho, altho I barely manage to not cut myself with the broken edges. This is improved- thicker and the spinning mechanism is visually and functionally better and there are "feet" that are supposed to prevent slip and sliding. However, it is definitely smaller in size. I would have wanted the bigger size of my original one. Another drawback is there is a difficulty in collapsing it and if one has arthritis of the hands or just weak, doubly so There is always the potential of the 2 inch rim to break in the process of collapsing it and the attachment of the Collander and the unfenestrated lower half will disengage too. I just received it so I cannot know how long this will last. I wish there was an easier way to collapse it but as of now, there isn't. A possible solution is to make the walls softer (like silicon)or make the rim a solid, thicker wall. In any case, I do like the idea of a collapsible collander and if that is the product one wants, I highly recommend it. Btw, it could accommodate leafy salads for 2 or 3 people depending on how big a salad they want. Of course those who are on a diet of salads alone, it is good for that one person. I usually hand wash it with no problem but it is supposed to be dishwasher safe.

Nice Inexpensive Compact Spinner

Salad spinners I've had in the past tended to live, unused, on a shelf in the garage because I've not had space to keep them handy in the kitchen. This is a very nice little spinner that is surprisingly powerful. And it really doesn't take up much space in the cupboard. It's only 20 bucks, so if it doesn't last forever, I won't be irritated. It seems pretty sturdy though. If you do big salads on a regular basis for a large family, you might wish to invest in something with a bit more structure and capacity. But for a few salads a week for just 2 or 3 people, it should be a best bet. Especially if you have limited storage space in your kitchen.

What a great space saver!

I have gotten rid of serveral large, clunky, and expensive salad spinners because they were just too cumbersome. Not this one! It collapses down to just a few inches tall and fits right into the small cabinet above my kitchen sink. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, and expands to the same size as the large ones. Just remember to let it air-dry well before putting it away to avoid mildew from forming in the grooves. I’m so glad I bought this one!

Easy to use

I’ve had pampered chef salad spinner for years. Needed a new one. When I saw this I thought I’d give it a try. It’s easy to use, easy to store, and significantly lower in price than pampered chef. I highly recommend.

Love it

The best salad spinner i've ever owned. The fact that it collapses in on its self is by far its coolest feature, but looks good and completely dries salad in a matter of seconds so no complaints there. A bit pricey but for someone who has limited space and wants an easy to clean, effective salad spinner this is the perfect fit.

One major flaw...

Could have been 5 stars in all categories but for one factor. Folding the assembly to save space is the reason I bought it, but the silicone eventually cracks at the fold points. Has lasted 2 years, but could have lived on for many more if only the silicone was more sturdy.
