Great choice for psyllium fiber powder

I purchased this to store my psyllium fiber powder. Previously I had just been using an old Optifiber canister, and that was suitable enough. However, though I had no evidence of there being an issue, I felt like exposure to the open air probably wasn't the best for the fiber, so I bought this. It holds the exact same amount as the Optifiber canister, and takes up about 1.5x the shelf space while being shorter. Pros: The build quality - of the container itself, the lid, the latch, the seal, even the hinges - are all top rate. Very happy with that. It comes with a little 1TBSP measuring scoop that snaps onto the lid, which is convenient because that's exactly the amount of powder I use per serving. The container even has a corner to it, so I can pour out the last of the fiber powder into a cup when there's too little for the scoop to collect, something that was always an issue with the canister. Cons: The container is a ~little~ tricky to pick up. This is because, unlike some of Progressive International's other containers, this doesn't have a ridge you can you to pick it up. I have average-sized male hands, and can do it with minimal effort. If you are female, or have otherwise smaller hands, you might need to use two hands to pick it up. Only an issue if you are doing this often, like to take off a shelf. The container is a ~little~ tricky to open. This is more of a use case thing, but I pick up my container, open it, and scoop out the powder, and since there's no handle on top of the lid, I have to open it using the latch. Maybe that's in the design - it is certainly robust enough for it - but so far it is a bit awkward, since the quality of the seal means you have to apply slightly more force that you would for a simple plastic door. Probably wouldn't have that issue if I was opening it while it was still resting on the shelf. The plastic scoop as a ~little~ tricky to take in and put out - again, because I'm holding the container, so I have to do it one-handed. I might just leave the scoop resting in the powder instead, certainly won't hurt anything. Conclusion I like the container and am happy to have purchased it. I liked the build so much I purchased another larger variant for my mother to keep her Muesli, so she could mix up her own. I may buy another in the future for other dried good. Most of the cons are only related to my specific use case, so if they don't apply, would recommend.

Works great

Bought this to keep coffee in and to refill our own kcups. Got tired of the high price of the pre-filled ones. It works fantastic the little scoop filled is just the right amount for filling a reusable kcup filter. Nice that the scoop snaps into the lid. The top makes a tight fit, but thats not all bad either.

Yay

I have purchased several sizes of this brand container. It helps me stay organized while also preventing bugs from hanging out in our food. The only issue was the small bit of plastic that holds the provided spoon broke on first use. No problem for us and I could have just been to rough but the container itself is what we needed and that works great.

Keeps coffee fresh!

Overall, I recommend this, but you need to be aware of a few little "gotchas" - it is a little tough to open because it really is a totally waterproof and airproof seal, and the scoop is a bit fiddly to get it to snap into the lid. Beyond those two things, this is perfect, so I can easily overlook them.

Great container

A great container for coffee grounds or brown sugars. It holds just about a pound of fine-grind coffee grounds. Pretty easy to clean, easy to open and close, and the spoon storage in the lid is a nice touch. I think it would be best priced closer to $10-12, but it's nice regardless.

Fantastic Storage Bins for Coffee

I now own six of these storage units. I purchase my coffee from an online vendor out of Canton, GA. In my opinion, they do sell the greatest coffee beans or ground coffee in the US rated by selection. I had been using another type of container but where these have a silicon seal the others I have used in the past do not. The silicon seal is the best thing about these containers. It may not provide a hermitical seal, but it well keeps out extra oxygen from getting in when not in use which can only degrade the coffee’s goodness. These are a clear gray color with just enough gray to keep out harmful rays of the sun. And last but not least, when opening the cover, each storage container contains a one-tablespoon scoop to be used to measure the coffee when placing the grounds into your coffeemaker in preparation of making a great cup of coffee. Remember, that to make a great cup of coffee, you need to have fresh, cold water, fresh ground coffee which has been contained in a great storage container that seals out harmful sun rays, and a truly good coffeemaker like the Moccamaster. Add to that, you need to use two tablespoons of a great coffee for each six (6) ounces of water. More than this will make it too strong; less will make the coffee too weak. Personally, if I add MORE than two tablespoons of coffee for every six (6) ounces of water that will be fine because I like a good cup of strong coffee, especially for the first cup in in the morning. But less coffee or more water will be too weak—asking for a TRULY BAD CUP OF COFFEE. Whether you purchase your coffee locally or online, if you are a true coffee lover, don’t purchase just one kind of coffee. Buy several types—one or two from Africa, one or two from India, and the same from Southeast Asia. Although I don’t care for coffee from Mexico or Central America, do try a couple from this region. That said, DO BUY THOSE FROM HAWAII AND JAMAICA. Most will say that the Kona or Kona blends as well as the Jamaica Blue and Jamaica Blends are two of the finest that can be purchased. But at $60 to $70 per pound for the non-blends of these two coffees, many of you may find it a little too expensive. I do; however, I will purchase one of each per year around the holidays as a Christmas present for myself; or I ask my wife to do the same as a present if I have been a good ‘boy’ throughout the year. The bottom line is to not buy just one coffee from a true vendor of coffee such as coffeeAM or other similar, buy several coffees from different parts of the world for a variety. Drinking the same coffee every day would be the same as eating the same entrée every night for supper. At the time of writing this review, I have eight different types of coffee I am enjoying and rotate with every cup I drink throughout the day. I drink about 5-6 10-oz. cups every day. With the Moccamaster coffeemaker, fresh coffee from CoffeeAM.com and containers like these to keep the coffee stored with as little oxygen possible to penetrate the container due to the silicone seal, you will find a huge difference in what you believed you had in coffee drinking experience but with these Progressive International ProKeeper Containers you will find now that you DO HAVE A GREAT COFFEE EXPERIENCE. Use them to store the coffee beans; however, if you don’t own a ‘Conical Burr’ coffee bean grinder, don’t ruin great coffee beans with a blade coffee grinder. Buy the coffee from your vendor already ground and sealed for freshness and store the ground coffee in one of these containers. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great product hard to open

They need a handle on the top, I’ve broken several fingernails opening it- other than that I like it, but I’m still looking for a different one that doesn’t hurt my fingers to open, first world problems????????‍♀️

Bien, salvo que muy delicado el plástico, se rayó a la primera lavada.

Parece sellar bien y conservar el aroma del cafe, lo compré caro (casí 400 pesos) al par de semanas tenía un precio de 250 pesos (creo que este precio si lo vale). En cuanto a los materiales, parecen apropiados, aunque el plástico se talló en la primer lavada, recomiendo el uso de una esponja para que no se maltrate. Le cabe alrededor de 1/2 kg de café.

Misleading/engañó

El producto se ve de buena calidad, sin Embargo el anuncio dice que tiene capacidad de (5 quarts) 4 kg, y NO tiene la capacidad ni para una bolsa de 1 kg de café The product seems of good quality, however the advertised says is for 5 quarts and IS NOT TRUE it holds 1.5 quarts of coffee… disappointing

does the job

After a false start (had to return my first order as it was cracked... sellers, PACK YOUR ITEMS SAFELY!) the canister arrived and I am very pleased with it. The easy-click fastener is suitable for people who have hand/arthritis issues. The only issue I have is with the internal spoon storage - I have to wrestle with the firm grip every time, so I've given up and just leave the spoon loose in the coffee. Can also be stacked with others, so that's a bonus.

Excelente qualidade e grande, o tamanho não vem especificado no anúncio do produto (tem 1,4l de capacidade se não me engano). Vedação extrema, nunca vi em nenhuma outra marca de hermético. Recomendo muito!!!

lo importante de un recipiente para café es que pueda conservar toda la frescura, el olor para no perder ese gran sabor que lo caracteriza, y con este recipiente se logra muy bien, bloquea muy bien con la tapa y el scop que tiene para preparar el café lo complemente muy bien
