Does the job - Ridiculously over priced
This item does the job. When closed there is no odor. When open you will have odor but the degree will depend on you, ie the type of litter that you use, how often you dumpmit and what you put in it. I flush the poop most of the time and empty this container about every two days. Pushing it longer allows odor to become stronger. The hinge does not seem to be super well made so I advise opening and closing with care. I would give it 5 stars but the price is absolutely absurd for a piece of plastic. The bags are too pricey also. I use 4 gallon bags from another seller and they fit perfectly.

Better as dry cat food storage
I bought this product in August of 2021 to improve my litterbox hygiene. (The box had to be temporarily moved into my bedroom during renovations.) I used the compostable bags that came with the pet fusion container in 2021. Between the constant addition of cat waste and the summer heat, the bag (2021) started melting/composting in the pet fusion. The cat waste came through the bottom of the bag and the bag itself melted/attached itself to the removable grey container. I took the time to clean the container and disinfect it thoroughly with multiple rounds of isopropyl alcohol, and then tried it again with Walmart bags. The bags didn't reach the bottom, obviously, but it did attach to the grey container. The one thing I couldn't stand with this contraption was the smell. When you closed it and the room aired out, no one could tell it held the remains of my cats' previous meals. However, the seal was too good. Even with the carbon pad and a thick layer of baking soda + litter deodorizer powder in the bottom, the ammonia smell that assaulted your nostrils upon opening the container was horrendous. So, I gave up on its intended purpose and used the container to solve a different 'problem'. (After 3 days of multiple rounds of isopropyl alcohol, I could stick my nose in the bucket, inhale deeply, and you would never know it previously held cat waste.) The majority of the review is negative, so why did I give the pet fusion container 5-ish stars? By the time I finished my trial and error I was determined to use it for something. It's an amazing container (and I spent $50 for it at the time :/ ). I removed the grey inner container, put 3 heavy rocks in it, gave it a walmart bag, and now use it as a mini trashcan for used paper towels. (I clean the empty litterbox with isopropyl alcohol + paper towels to prolong the life of said litterbox. I do this everytime I change the litter.) For the actual vacuum sealing container, I removed the carbon and now store dry cat food in it. (I basically bleached the container for 3 days, so I feel comfortable doing this.) It keeps the cat food fresh so my cats don't have to eat hardened kibble anymore. TLDR: If you don't mind being assaulted by ridiculously ripe cat excrement everytime you open the container, it works well for its intended purpose (given the right bags). But, I've been using it to keep dry food extraordinarily fresh for over a year now. The vacuum seal mechanism etc. is built to last, so the only cons would be finding the rights bags and keeping the inside of the container clean. (Bc there is no way for moisture to escape cat urine condensation coats the entirety of the inside. It's very gross when you have to change the bags.) Hope this helps good luck!

Ease of use
I have multiple cats and this holds more than the others. To make sure there is no smell, I use recyclable pet waste bag and put the bag in.

Great buy! So great and it comes with compostable bags
Best thing I bought! Love the compostable bags, I have been into the recycling part. I paired it with an extendable scoop so I don't have to get on my knees. Best thing that I have gotten for convenience for my cat. He gets a clean box daily instead of when my knees can handle it. My kitty has been much happier with that!

Keeps cat from chewing plastic bags
I tried this product because one of my three cats is a brat that will eat (and then vomit) any plastic bag he finds. I wanted to keep the plastic bag that I use to line the litter scooping container away from him, so I needed a receptacle with a locking lid. This litter holder works admirably for the purpose! The brat has not been able to ingest and vomit any portion of the plastic bag liners, which makes me very happy. Comments: For three cats, one of these receptacles is not quite big enough to hold a week's worth of scooped litter. It would be fine for two cats for a week. I use Glad Force-Flex Medium trash bags to line this, and they work very well. The side seams of the bags have extra reinforcement, so I insert the bag such that I can snap the side buttons over that reinforced area. The handle locks the lid in place and is comfortable to use to carry the receptacle even when full. As others have commented, if the container is empty, opening the lid will cause it to tip backwards. Set it against the wall and it will be fine. Several people commented negatively about the smell from within the container when the lid is opened, and about the moisture in the container. These are inevitable consequences of having an air-tight container. Things I have done to ameliorate both issues include using a hard-clumping litter, waiting until the clumps are somewhat dried out before scooping them, and sprinkling Nature's Miracle cat litter deodorizer in the container over the clumps. These definitely help, but you're never going to get completely rid of either odor or moisture with this receptacle because there is no ventilation - which is exactly what is advertised, please note! It is described as a tight-sealing container, and it certainly is. To sum up, this is definitely a pricier choice than other options, but for my purposes, it is worthwhile and is money well spent. The brat-cat no longer eats and pukes plastic, which was my primary objective, and except for when I open the container to scoop litter, there is less smell in the room.

A game changer
I've had this litter disposal container for 4 months now, and love it!. I place scooped litter inside, lock the lid, and no more smell! After several days, I pull out the bag, tie, dispose of, and replace with Pet Fusion's green replacement bags (I like these because they're non-plastic). Bag holder tabs and locking lid design are excellent, making bag changes easy. Best system I've ever used.

Not fit for purpose
I’m a bit surprised by the positive reviews of this item. As a bin, it functions - it’s a receptacle with no holes in it. Unfortunately that’s the best that can be said. The idea of a litter bin with no refill canisters to buy is initially appealing. However, because the litter is not sealed away each time, the smell that emanates from the bin each time it’s opened is truly staggering - even from the point when you’ve only used it once previously. Unless the intention is to completely empty it each time it’s used (therefore rendering the item entirely pointless) this item is not fit for purpose. A total waste of money; I’ve had to buy a new bin that actually works.

No smell...no poo bags...no problem!
We have 3 cats...I hated poo collecting, they always went at different times and I hated the amount of bags I went through. This bin is a godsend. It sits by the litter trays and I just scoop the poop into the bìn and seal the lid with the handle, done in seconds. We empty once a week, carry the bin straight outside to the main bin, tie off the bag and drop in ready for collection. I'm sure you could leave it longer as it's pretty roomy, but I empty the soiled sawdust into it at the end of the week so works for me! We use wood pellets and sifting litter trays. Highly recommended. Cant say I've noticed much of a pong when lid is opened as the fresh poo is pretty ripe anyway! Another bonus is any refuse bag will fit it.

Just what I wanted great stops my kitchen bin from stinking
Firstly, yes when you do open the lid there is a smell, ( it does go away once you close the lid ) but with 3 indoor cats, that's to be expected, I imagine it will get worse as the bin fills, as it holds a lot of poo. There is a charcoal filter at the top which if you regularly change will help this. On my normal kitchen bin ( which I previously used to scoop the litter in every day I used the Katfresh filters,( They are approx £1.99 at B&M) If you cant get a charcoal filter perhaps you could use one of those instead. ( They need replacing every 30 days ) Because I had 3 cats I went for this option and I like the fact you can just put a bin bag in and change the filter and not have to mess about with the special cartridges, like the other litter bins. I have put an ONA block inside the bin, so when I open it the smell isn't too bad. They last a long time. I have found over the years having these next to litter trays really helps. I have placed one in the bottom of the bin, and it is helping. You don't need one, but if the smell when you open the lid to scoop litter in is too much, and you have a new filter, you could give it a try. I guess if you have a few cats and there is a lot to scoop having the lid open longer makes it seem worse. But just change the bag more often. There is no way I will wait until the bag is full, as it's such a large container. All in all I am happy with the bin.

Fit for purpose... but keep it outside of the house!
Does the job well and once closed and been closed for half an hour, it doesn't smell at all - even if you put your nose right up to it. But boy that stench when you open the lid, and the lingering effect after. Jheez. And that's even with the same brand bags!! I would rate this 5 star as it does do the job it's supposed to. But considering you pay a premium for replacement bags from the same company, to which don't actually keep the smell in at all really and kinda leak as they're biodegradable at a seemingly ridiculous rate, I can only give the product 4 stars! NOTE: I also recommend keeping this outside, as the smell really is horrendous and does linger for a while before clearing to reveal an otherwise great product!

Spot on
I was cautiously hopeful for this product after reading the reviews - we have 3 house cats and this has made life much easier! We are obviously emptying the litter box often and this bin means less complication (&complaining!). It lives in the hallway storage cupboard which is relatively small, and when you open the door there is no smell whatsoever. It really does what it says. Easy to use, easy to clean and has made our busy daily cat litter chores far easier. You can literally use any bag you want after the supplied bags run out. But, I really wish they’d sell those bags on their own they’re really good.
