Making work a snap
I haven't used this style of cutter and holster in 15 years and was happy to see they still made them! The holster fits nicely on the belt and allows the cutter to slip in and out perfectly for any kind of job. So glad to have this tool again!

Almost everyone that works in any department in my store needs a good box cutter
When working at a grocery store, I find myself cutting and opening boxes. Almost everyone that works in any department in my store needs a good box cutter. Some like to put it in their back pocket, and some prefer the standard plastic holsters that come with the cutters. I found practically all cutter sheaths are merely adequate but didn’t provide easy removal and re-holstering of a box knife. This cutter sheath has addressed this problem. Build Quality: This is a decent quality leather sheath. It is stitched well enough and seems strong. The belt loop slits are cut out well and have been rounded at either end to prevent tearing. Ease of use: The belt clip attached to the top is nice as you can just clip it to your pants pocket. This simplifies the use of the sheath as you don’t need a belt to keep the sheath on you. When other sheaths require a belt to mount, I just want something casual and simple. Coolness: The rule of cool is my personal goal to everything: it needs to look cool. The leather is pretty old-school and makes the rig rather unique for such an ordinary item. Performance: The holstering and re-holstering is very easy, fast, and is especially important to me as I need my cutter constantly. The opening of the sheath is generous and will likely accommodate just about any box knife or similar shaped item you insert. The tip of the sheath is tapered and allows anything that is inserted to wedge itself inside, preventing items from shifting or rattling around while holstered inside. Durability: The sheath has stood up to a year of use and has performed well. The leather is becoming dark and scared from work and exposure. Also, the leather is softer now with use, but not becoming too flexible. All of the rivets are staying in place and the metal clip is still attached. Overall, this Item is ok for my needs and shows that older style leather can be great, if not superior to mere plastic or metal.

The most effective and safe way to carry your PHC cutter
For the fans of the Pacific handy cutter – or for the people who given the cutter is part of their job – there is no other way to carry it around. Granted your job may not give much of an opportunity to set it aside, it becomes apparent that when those rare opportunities come, you are put in an awkward situation what do you do with it? Well, wonder no more. The Pacific Handy Leather Sheath Holster with Clip is a dedicated carrier of the Pacific Handy Cutter (PHC) series of box cutters. Made of a simple stiff leather with a metal clip and slots for belts up 1 1/4th wide, not only does it accommodate a wide variety of box cutters, it also adjusts for the various ways of wearing it. The metal belt clip easily allows you to take it on and off while the slots are for a uncompromising security – no matter how you move, your PHC cutter is always at your side. I really like this design. Granted I have not used theplastic holster , plastic clips have always left a bad taste in my mouth. Having come from a generation that popularized theWalkman , it was all too common that if something bumped or slid on you just right, that plastic clip was going break off. You cannot have that happening in a professional setting which is why I – and others like me – chose this handy cutter holster. Would you like some unsolicited advice? If you are a person who takes this off constantly because it gets in the way of driving or simply want to better secure this on your body, consider making two holes along the bottom passing a shoelace string through them. Now you can tight it off to your thigh, but more so have the sheath move with it as you do the things you have to do.

Great sheath
This does exactly what I expect without fail every time. It is made of stiff leather that will gain a nice patina with time. The metal clip is easy to slip over a belt for all day use or dangle from your pocket real quick. Works well with an S5.

I’ve had the plastic holder for box cutter & decided to try this. Easy in & out of knife. I also find this stays in place where the plastic version can be knocked of my belt loop as well as my knife can fall out when driving a forklift. I will use the leather holder going forward. A little more money spent pays off in this situation!????

Great for About a Year for 48 hours a week
I love my cutters from pacific handy cutters. I have used the S4 and S5. I loved the plastic holsters and eventually the ones I had broke. I came looking for more and then I found this. It was great while it lasted. Using the holster and cutter for over 48 hours a week for about a year during the pandemic Eventually the belt clip broke off of the holster and became unusable. I had to order a new holster and tried another brand I found on Amazon that was a better value and had a place to put pens/markers. We will see how long that one lasts.
