Works well out of the box

Easy to install, easy to program. My prior Melnor valve had one station quit working after one year. We’ll see how long this one lasts.

Most often it an go off is every 6 hours - no good for seedlings.

Very user-friendly device. Have used it for years. Recently set it up to mist my seedlings in the Florida sun. No good at that. The most often it can go off is every 6 hours. No good for what I need. I need one that goes off every 1 hour for 5 minutes to keep the seedlings moist, but not wet.

Easy and Reliable

I just installed my second one after finding last year how much time I saved. I also need to mention that it is user-friendly to operate. I am 80 yo and not techy at all. If I can set it, anyone can.

Worked only for 2 seasons

I used this to water my new grass seed twice for 3 weeks each time. After the second time of using it water was leaking out the back were the batteries were. I'm not sure why. It was left outside with the other sprinklers. I desided to purchase the double hose timer by this same company. I'm hoping with putting it in a storage container when not in use it will last longer. This worked great and was easy to use when it was working.

Very Hands OFf!

This works perfectly as described. Packaging: Simple and easy to unbox. Manual is provided, and instructions for setup are extremely easy to read and understand. After putting in batteries (2xAA), overall programming of device took no more than 2 minutes. Install: This process also takes no more than one minutes. It is as simple as it sounds. Connect device to outdoor water source. Then you can plug in two other hoses to this device to feed two sprinklers at once. Use Case: I set this to water my plants and some of my lawn for about 10 minutes every morning. I love that I don't have to spend time to water the plants anymore! Battery Life: I have used this for one whole summer (about 4 months) and did not have to change the batteries. Of course, this would also depend on the type of battery you use. I chose Duracell and never had an issue. Overall summary: Spend the $50, it will save you so much of your time. Spend that time on doing something you love, and you will not have to worry about watering your lawn or plants ever again. TIP: Make sure you disconnect and take it indoor for winter time so that it does not get ruined by cold temps and water expansion from freezing process.

Works well for 1-2 seasons, leak from solenoid can be fixed with teflon tape, for now.

Have both the 1 output (91213) and the 2 output models (58910). Worked ok for 1-2 seasons. Put it away indoor for the winter and found both leaking in the spring. A significant drip from one of the two holes at the bottom. Looks like an internal leak. Opened it up found leak from solenoid fitting. Actually the one on the left was cross threaded, surprised that it didn't leak from the beginning. Put some teflon tape on both and reassembled seemed to solve the problem. As for the rating, for <$50, of course it is made in China. But the question is like in people management, is it worth the cost and is it worth keeping. I work a day job so I rather not have to spend 15 minutes everyday to water the plants. It solves my problem. A little bit of headache with the leak, but hopefully people find this useful and not have to toss it out. The fitting is sealed by a rubber seat which the white screw fitting pushes up against. After some use, the rubber gets compressed and no longer seal against the white fitting. The teflon tape seals the fitting with the housing, which is ok. But I would guess at some point, the plunger of the solenoid will not seal against the rubber seat and it will start to have a leak where the timer is off but water may leak through to the plants. So may have to keep an eye out for over watering and high water bills. This leak won't be from the housing. Four stars for saving me time at a decent cost, but poor manufacturing and some material durability issue. Maybe manufacturer can offer the rubber seat separate as a maintenance item.

Good at what it does now and hopefully in the longterm

A quiet timer that has now been in use for a few weeks without a problem. During installation I did have to remove the conical shaped filter from the water inlet port to ensure the fitting was watertight There may be a different fitting available that will allow the filter to be retained and remain watertight. Easy th o programme like many similar timers.

Does not have UK standard 3/4” BSP connections so not compatible with anything else in your U garden

Incompatible with UK pipe threads. The thread is coarser than standard UK fittings so completely useless in the UK. I have a previous apparently identical model that everything (e.g. Hozelock) connects to. I assumed that this would be the same as it was advertised as such.
