Heavy as if lined with lead
I bought this for piecing and embroidery while visiting family a weekend or two each month. I bring my crafts, but sometimes I don’t have my car and walk on/off the ferry. This is as flexible on both sides as if it had only a thin piece of cardstock on each side, and cutting mat side is less than 1/8” - slightly thicker than the thickness of a cardboard-cover book. There’s clearly no reinforcement on the cutting mat side, but it’s about twice the weight of the MUCH thicker pressing mat side. This literally weighs only a few grams lighter much as a 1/16” thick high carbon steel sheet that I have that has almost identical dimensions (if this was opened out flat. I have no clue as to how this can be physically possible, because it clearly doesn’t have anything stiff in it. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they upcycled lead apron material. Yes, that’s an exaggeration, but not by very far. There’s no reason an item designed to be portable should weigh more than the heavy duty items that I keep at home, but still be as flimsy as a cricut mat. I decided to just cut and double up a cricut mat that’s not sticky anymore and sew a few layers of 100% wool felt into a 100% wool twill sandwich. I’ll put a few rivet holes in each side of the mat, and sew it into a quilted fabric binder cover. That way, I’ll be making do with what I have already… and not making my neck and back problems far worse than they already are. I expected more from Omnigrid. This product has seriously injured my opinion of their brand. If you are using it at home and not trying to carry it or put it in a rolling case (weight still matters even in my zuca bag) then you’re fine. This might be a good product for the occasional crafter living in a one room studio apartment. Otherwise, it seems to me to be poorly designed overpriced junk.

No metric markings, but it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made in years.
How on earth did I not know that this sort of thing existed?! This is just a wonderful product. I use it nearly daily right now. Since I’m working on a tiny table at the moment (okay, it’s a TV tray), I have to be extremely aware of space considerations. My normal cutting mat is bigger than the tray surface and while it still works fine, the entire tray has to be cleared off. This wonderful cutting/pressing combination is small enough that I can even leave the sewing machine on the tray. I just move it to the furthest edge and the mat fits perfectly in front of it. I absolutely love the size, the fact that it has both a cutting mat and a pressing mat. I am so grateful to have the measuring lines on the cutting surface. All of this makes my life so much easier. If I had to find one quibble, it is that the measurements do not include metric. This is annoying only because some of my patterns are ones I am drafting from instructions from overseas and use metric. This necessitates having to go find another ruler. But I CAN find another ruler, so while it is an annoyance, it does not make this any less a wonderful product.

I bought this for a paper piecing class. It was great you have a side to press your fabric another side for cutting. No more getting up and running to the cutting or ironing board. It is a must have for quilters.

Fits in a Tote Bag easily
This is the perfect size to put in a regular size bag that a regular size sheet of paper would fit in. We recently went to Nevada. I really wish I would have had this with me. I would have been able to cut and press in the hotel room. I had everything else with me, but nothing to use with my rotary cutter and travel iron. The fabric that is on the outside of it feels very expensive and but wipes off easily. It looks and feels more expensive than it is. In other words, it is not cheaply made and will fall a part with one use. The pressing pad is not thin like some of this size I have seen, it is thick and made of sturdy fabric. It should last for a long time.

Perfect and handy
I bought this because I was tired of constantly getting up from my sewing machine to go to the cutting station and then over to the ironing station to only then come back to the sewing machine. As I started practicing paper piecing, I was finding that I was having to do this more and more and my project was taking forever. Now I have a small station right next to my sewing machine where I can both cut something and iron something small quickly and easily. It does not take up much space and I find that I can rotate it or fold it as necessary. This has helped me really pick up the pace with my projects. It was exactly what I was hoping for. It is also so slim I can just pack it up and hide it away when I'm doing a project that doesn't require repetitive ironing and cutting. I have not tried to do any large scale cutting or ironing on this, such as may be required in a travel class. I would imagine it would not be ideal for this given it's size (think of about 2 regular sheets of paper laid out next to each other),therefore I still use my regular cutting mat and ironing board when cutting anything over say 10 inches. They do, however, sell larger foldaway stations if that is what you're hoping to use it for!

Best investment ever
This is the perfect little item you wanna have especially when you do appliqué and need to be carried around the house or sit and sew days at your local quilt shop. I’m very pleased with it and I highly recommend it!!!!!

Can't do without it anymore!
I am a hand piecer and use Linda Franz's Inklingo system to prepare most of my patches for piecing. I have been working with 1" hexagons for about six months now and I use this tote for more than just ironing or cutting. I use a lap desk out on the porch or in front of the TV and with this tote I can use the ironing side like a mini design wall as I am piecing each shape. I use the cutting mat with the Fiskar's Fingertip Rotary Cutter to fussy cut or cut black fabrics with a template when needed. When I need to stop for a moment or more, I just close the tote and the Velcro closure keeps the tote shut and the pieces inside exactly as they were. With multiple projects I would likely use one tote for each., And they come in several sizes. This is one of those notions that works exactly like it says it will with a solid feeling of "just right!"

Exactly as advertised!
Great little tool! I really appreciate pulling this off a bookshelf to do small ironing/sewing projects instead of taking out and setting up my large ironing board! It actually allows me to spend time on projects when I previously would not have, since I spend less time setting up/taking down and more time sewing!

It's a great portable board. Both sides and very helpful.
Prefect portable item. I'm a professional seamstress and I take this to my masterclass to teach my students. Perfect size for a travel and both sides very user friendly. Even I can can use my full iron if I need to.
