Fire Box

The media could not be loaded. just recently bought it, so I can’t talk about it's durability but it does serve it's purpose of keeping the wood and coals together.

DURABLE!

I love my firebox cube for holding my split logs when smoking meats and products for my small business. I will continue to buy this when my first, second, third one wear out at some point.

This Was the Missing Piece

I was hesitant at pulling the trigger on something that I just didn't think would make that big of a difference. I was absolutely wrong. If you enjoy using your smoker but have a hard time maintaining consistent temperatures and you don't own a fire basket, go ahead and do yourself a favor and buy this now. Smoking briskets is a breeze now. I can start smoking at 3 AM, set my alarm for every two hours and know that the heat will still be sitting at a perfect 200 degrees when I come back to add coal/wood. I am extremely pleased with this firebox. As other reviewers have noted, it is easy to assemble and not sharp around the edges. It fits perfectly in my Old Country Pecos BBQ Smoker, the smokebox being the largest you can typically find among personal smokers (as opposed to commercial).

Pain to put together!!

Pain to put together!! They should not put the nuts on the bolts due to how small they are!! Fasteners are really small! Haven't used yet but looks sturdy. Oklahoma Joe's always makes quality products!!

Worth the investment

Without this it wasn't really possible to get a consistent temperature on the smoker. Two lit weber starters full of lumpwood coal lasted 6 or 7 hours at least. This along with latches and gasket felt have enabled me finally to use this smoker properly!

Did what it was intended to do. Solid material!

The media could not be loaded. A much better alternative than putting the coals and wood straight into the fire chamber. Ensures the longevity of the Oklahoma Joe’s solid build as well, and makes it easier to clean as well once the cook is done. Material was great and a lot more durable than I had originally assumed. Took no time at all to put together, and was ready to use in 5-10mins. I would recommend a spanner/wrench to go to with the screwdriver when putting it together, as it would help strengthen the fire box and make the screws tighter. Overall a great purchase and highly recommended.

Great little firebox basket, watch the sharp edges while assembling!

It comes flat packed and you need to assemble. It has quite a few nuts and bolts and some razor sharp edges. It works well and allows good airflow, keeping the fuel burning well. I gave it 4 stars over 5 because i wasn't paying enough attention and got a pretty good cut on one of those aforementioned edges.

Damaged upon receipt

I cannot say who damaged the item but it is usibstantial. I cannot straighten out the dent. Theer a re a couple more punctures in the box. I showed only 1. I had problems trying to arrange an exchange and had to cancel and reorder this product which had increased from $48.00 CDN to $66.00 CDN. The said they would refund me the difference. Very Inconvenient
