Fits like a hotdog in a hallway. For some, that’s already all you know.

My biggest concern buying this was that my drill would fit like a hotdog in a hallway. And after break in it does/did. I use a compact drill specifically a DCD 791. If it is not latched in and I lean forward it is guaranteed My drill will fall out. But that is a simple fix just clasp the holster. The strap and latch or are there for a reason. I also found it if you don’t put your drill in the neutral position it will run in the holster depending upon fit. Again easy remedy. Take it out of drive. I do like the holster. And I did have a fair fix for the sloppiness which was to add sex bolts along the profile of my specific drill. I did this after oiling and breaking in the leather. See attached photos. There are a couple of small pockets for bits or driver tips on the side. They are not very functional for my specific set up and I don’t use them. Not a big deal. In my opinion there should be some sort of stiffener from the belt loop down the back of the holster to help keep it more rigid. I also think that, similar to a gun holster, there should be a couple options. Such as compact drill or hammer drill. Basically a couple generic molded profiles for different drill types. I’m probably in the 1% on this, but for carpentry work I do not like impact drivers. That’s why I only included two options. Now all that being said everyone will use this holster for a variety of reasons with different drills, for different purposes mounted a variety of ways with their own way of actual use. So opinions will probably vary greatly on this. I’ve had it for about three months. And I wear it 8 to 10 hours a day mounted on an occidental stronghold 2500 vest. So my personal set up is probably part of the drill slop when I lean forward. But let’s face it, some of y’all reading this are already used to that sloppy, loose fit feeling. So those guys might already have a solution. If that’s the case please share. I do think that the fit could be addressed by occidental. All in all it’s very well-made. As all of their products are. I am happy with it and I will continue to use it. But for multiple reasons I only give it four stars. If the option was there would technically be about a 3.7. If you’re one of the guys that is already used to going home and parking his Prius in a four car garage. this might be perfect for you ????. I’ve just always had to make sure I don’t bump the back door with my hitch when i park. Perfect for those that got stuck with a Prius. A tighter fit would be more suited for me.

Nice but IMO not Perfect

Quality of manufacture is very good. And it is a good looking piece. My deviations from greatness are: The first drill I tried, because it was handy, was a 14.4v DeWalt of 20 years ago. It did not balance well; battery end heavy. _Next I tried my 18v Milwaukee Drill/Driver/Hammer-Drill. Better, though not spot on balance. I noticed the LED came on when I nestled the Milwaukee deeper in the holster: I felt no rotation of the chuck. I figure it would do that by its own weight once the holster broke in & became more-nearly form fit. I then tried a 12v Milwaukee which is smallish in this holster though not ridiculously so; certainly usable. It seemed to balance well, and the LED did not light. The extra bit pockets are way deep for standard length, but would be fine for 3 or so inches or longer bits. Lastly the Rivets seemed to scratch along the drill body's, though I did not notice abrasions in the short trial. Not a game changer, as drills get quite used anyway. if? there would be a couple of scratches they won't effect performance. I bought this used, though it must have been 'just' a return, as it was like NEW, so the price was right, otherwise, as a home owner type user, I'd have bought the Heritage 1730L which is very similar to the Custom Leather Craft (CLC) DRL91 I've been using off and on for decades; other than wrong handed I've liked it. The LED lighting on the 18v Milwaukee is what brings it to a 3*, other-wise a 4*_ one off for the balance & bit pockets

Best toolbelt period! Wear it everyday

I build boathouses on the lake and use the Occidental products almost daily. Having all items separate allows me to configure my work belt for what I am doing that day. Been doing this 18 years and there is no other product like this on the market. The only thing I miss from other inferior toolbelts is a strap over the tape holder. You will not be disappointed!

Best holster ever

Idk why I bought it but it works great for my glock and my old colt revolver! And it has two spots for cigarettes so that's a bonus right? But it all seriousness it works just like it should, its occidental leather for goodness sakes, you get what you pay for!!

This is a worthy addition to my tool pouch. It's worth while having both left and right holsters for anyone who does a lot of ladder or lift work. Plus it fills out the belt and keeps the pouches from shifting around.

Excellent Left-Handed Holster!

Very good quality! I was difficult to find a left-handed holster but this one works perfect and keeps my Ryobi drilll or driver from falling plus it is always convenient to reach!

Full leather is the best

Nice product. Worth the money for me. Back in the day I always used left handed leather holsters for my screw guns. Good luck finding one today. They are all garbage now a days as far as I am concerned. They are made from cheap material and they don’t hold your screw gun in properly. If they are not buckled in they will fall out. I do t have time for that nonsense considering your gun is in and out 500 times per day. Full leather is the only way to go for tradesman
