Excellent vise! Great value for your money!
I was building a Moravian workbench, but wanted to use a modern face vise instead of a leg vise. I picked this because it was light enough for me to attach to my bench top but still have the portability features of a Moravian bench. I was very pleasantly surprised by how well this vise works, and the value for quality of the parts. All the parts mate and align well. The instructions have some typos (e.g. the page with the instructions for the 10" version refers to the product with the 9" model number), but if you follow the instructions you will get a nicely installed vise with extra allowance that they recommend you have. (I was originally skeptical and added extra allowance, and ended up with double when I first did a dry fit. So the instructions where right on.)

Take your time. Check your measurements. Install takes time.
Solid and great woodworking addition for end of my workbench. After reading reviews I knew I’d need to carefully think through the install, make mods to bench to accommodate the vise, drill holes in correct location. Don’t rush, be patient. Think every step through twice. Took me 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete install but no regrets. Has added so much versatility to my bench. Wish I’d done this years ago. No handle provided. Used 1” dowel and had to sand to fit. Then bought round knobs from hobby store and bored to fit handle. Not a quick release but spins easily to open /close.

Very Good Heavy Duty Vise
I installed this vice two weeks ago. It took some time, but most woodworkers will have the skill to mount it properly. It's much more heavy duty than my previous Rockler vise, who's threads wore out after only about ten years of hobby use, and this ones about half the cost of the Rockler. It comes with instructions that are fair, so I advise to look at some youtube videos and take your time to get it right. In use it's strong, easy to open/close, and it holds wood in place very well. I put about a two degree tilt to the closing surface so that the top engages before the bottom, this really makes it a nice vise.

Nice large vice.
I needed a large vise to hold various objects that I repair. I am not a woodworker, but often repair furniture. This vise can be modified to almost any configuration, so take your time and plan the installation. A couple of notes: 1) The vise can be completely disassembled. There is a spring pin holing the handle in place that must be driven out and back in with 1/8" drift pin. Do not clamp it with pliers! 2) I used soft pine (2x12) for the jaws as to not damage what I will hold in place. The jaws can be easily replaced when worn. For other uses, recommend facing the jaws with maple or oak. 3) The tee handle could be a 1" dowel. I used a chunk of 3/4 water pipe and two reducers. It's a bit loose, but two cable ties keep it in place.

Good Vise for the money
I have installed two of these. Things I used: Good forstner bits with a good extender (tight fitting, doesn't wobble): allows clamping and drilling of both vise jaws at the same time, with backer board to prevent blowout 1" diameter hardwood dowel for the handle maple flagpole finials with 1" hole for the handle end caps .02" thick PETG plastic sheet, approximately 2.5" length by 3.5" circumference rolled up and inserted into the handle hole in the vise to form a bushing, secured by external circular beads of hot glue which form bump stops for the finials. Suggested improvement: A paper template for drilling the holes.

Works great; Great vise for the money if you can do without the quick release
90+% of the time I am working with 1" or less stock on edge, so the lack of a quick release was no big deal for me. I am an amateur, part time, wood worker, so for my needs this is great. Mounting it was pretty easy (see pic). I did have some interference problems, but that was because of my (custom) design. I have no idea if this would hold up for day in, day out usage, but if you are a part time woodworker like me and the lack of a quick release wont bother you, I highly recommend this vise.
