Lust for Rust
This product is amazing. I new I wanted to try something different on my walls. The color palette for my livingroom was going to be A Dark Navy with Rusted, burnt orange colors and various types of metal shades but mostly copper and bronzes. I started off by painting the walls the dark navy color. And then used the Modern Masters rust kit. I wanted it to look like it was create through time with rain and changes of weather. So when I applied the iron paint I dragged my brush down with a wiping motion towards the end of every stroke then I applied the oxidizing agent and waited a couple of minutes to see it transform right before my eyes. I applied the sealing agent and Wahlah! Instant drama! I loved this product because it was so simple to use and create such a dramatic interesting effect. I got so many compliments from people I would invite over on my walls. I loved the way they turned out. I would recommend this product 100%.

Amazing!!
The stuff is amazing! Turns out just like rusted metal on 3-D printed plastic.

It’s a process but not complicated
I do my fair share of reviving furniture with paint and giving pieces new life but I’ve never used a patina kit like this. The primer and paint get brushed on. Brush evenly. I fudged a little on the wait times in between coats because I’m impatient. The best advice I can give is this: the last step where you spray the activator, where you spray the most is where it will activate the verdigris. I had to dry brus a little out to blend it. My photos are of each step beginning to end! It was an easy process that took several hours with wait time. I would use this kit again!

Looks really cool and is easy to use.
Easy to use.I tried the blue and was very happy with the results. I will be purchasing more to try. Definitely worth the money.

Not easiest to work with
I used this on metal frog sculptures that were badly weathered outside. The green patina was nice. However, since the frogs had various dimensions (unlike a flat surface vase for instance) it was difficult to get the surface covered equally. The directions did not mention that the items will not patina if the base coat is not wet. The patina is a spray-it also ran making streaks. Not the easiest to work with for a professional result.

Works awesome
I 3D printed a headlight for a mini chopper I have, that has gotten a nice coat of rust over the years, and decided to try to rust the new piece. I'm very happy with how this turned out, there is some mottling, and another round of activator would have made it more uniform, but I think it looks more realistic this way, and matches the rest of the bike better.

Little harder to use
This can be a whole new ballgame for the outcome of your next project. I love how this makes things look rustic. I purchased the Patina and the Rust. I think the rust seems to work a little easier than the Patina . Used it on a layered project containing wood, chipboard, & card stock. The items you can use it on is very versatile. It definitely is a little pricey but I am very happy with the outcome of the way my project looked. Although I found it harder to get the results I was hoping to achieve; I like the product. I suggest you practice on something small before you begin your project to get the feel of how it works. I would use this company again the product came fast, was packaged well and did what it stated it would do.

Buy extra activator
I was excited to use the rust effects product, but was quickly disappointed. I used only about a pea size amount of primer and paint, but it took half a bottle of activator, and a few days with drying time, to finally achieve a satisfactory result.

Terrible quality control
I've used similar products in the past and I have a long history with craftwork in general (over 30 years). That being said, the product was terrible - and I believe it's related to quality control or storage. The primer was fine, but the iron paint was clumped, almost solid. It being acrylic, I diluted it a bit with distilled water, to no avail. When applied, It clumped up even more, covering details of my work. The brown primer is always visible, unless you apply more and more of the iron paint. Since I had already used it and couldn't return it, I decided to try the oxidizing agent (figuring it would be worth buying another set), but it also didn't work at all. 48 hours later there was a very faint hazy bluish patina reminiscent of mold in a few spots. Some reviews show it works and have great results, others, like mine, say the opposite. I'm pretty sure the kit was old or improperly stored and went bad. Never buying this kind of stuff off Amazon again.

The metallic paint clumped and wasn’t usable
The metallic paint of the kit clumped and made a mass at the bottom of the bottle and any amount of stirring wasn’t able to bring the consistency to a paintable state. Really disappointed with the product because by buying the metallic paint separately, there was no problem but is more costly.
