Turn Turn Turn

I love using the rotisserie on my Masterbuilt. A little difficult to get the food onto the unit with a hot fire, but with some practice it works. I highly recommend buying this unit.

does not hold 17lbs

I put a 17lb turkey, which is below the 20lb limit and at first it seemed to rotate well, but I come back to find that the turkey did not cook evenly because it was only cycling 180 degrees. I made sure mine had the fix for the pieces that rub against each other so I'm not sure what the issue was. Returned. Probably works well if you have 12lbs or less. Actually the masterbuilt site says it can only do 10lb so perhaps the stats on amazon are wrong.

Works great but doesnt seem to support the weight it claims to

Works great for one chicken positioned to the left of center (away from heat manifold opening) but trying it with two birds it sometimes gets stuck in rotation - even with 12lbs of weight on it between the two birds. Also, having two birds on this at once will not produce an even cook - the right bird will be done first due to its closer proximity to the heat source. One other small improvement I'd like to see is the hanger you install on the right side if it could be designed to stay on and still support the upper grill grates when rotisserie is not in use.

Turned out well

It seemed to turn only half way for half the cook time but then ran flawlessly the second half. Could of been too heavy at the beginning…but chickens turned out fabulous!

They Don't Ship to Alaska

I initially went to the Masterbuilt website to purchase a rotisserie for my 800 Smoker Grill. I found one put in my cart. When i went to do the actual purchase, the website informed that they don't ship to Alaska. Really? I wenr to Amazon found the exact same rotisserie for $30 less and they ship to Alaska. Now I'm a Rotisserieing fool. It's a bit cumbersome to set up and the take down every time, but it works well on chicken, and I'll be seeing what else I can use it for.

Strong motor, but binds up as it gets hot.

The only reason I’m keeping this is the motor seems very strong and well made. Where the spit fits through the bushing is way too tight and expands and binds as it heats. Not good. I ground mine down to allow expansion. Seems to work ok now. Bad desig though. Terrible.

Watch it closely

I cannot give this 5-stars simply because it stopped turning 3 times during my 90 minute cook of a 5lb. chicken. I read other reviews and watched a couple of videos and they all pretty much agreed that this would be so much better (and probably resolve this) if it had a counter-weight. I managed to get it back turning with tongs but that's a hassle. I hope Masterbuilt addresses this or somebody else jumps on the chance and makes a sturdier rotisserie.

Sturdy metal but.

For some reason motor will reverse itself, not sure what's going on. I believe the tolerance between metals is too close and that it doesn't allow for heat expansion. Other wise it work great. Update: Even though motor is too cheap and kept reversing. Kit came with multi length spits and reducer for spits. I brought a high end universal motor for $75. 2 screws later and a little bit of drilling and now I have a real rotisserie that can handle 3× more weight. In summary buy kit toss motor.

Doesn’t fully rotate

Tried for the first time and it doesn’t fully rotate, had to modify it myself to overcome the problem

Kann man haben, aber....

Ok, Artikel ist wie beschrieben.... leider ist die Qualität für den hohen Preis - mittelmäßig. Motor hat eindeutig zu wenig Leistung für größere Fleischstücke. Nervig ist zudem, wenn das Gargut nicht austariert am spieß ist das die Drehrichtung abschaltet und gegenläufig sich wieder aktiviert. Nach meiner Meinung für "Täubchen" am spieß gehts ! Für den Preis leider nicht der Brüller....

Schlechter motor

Motor macht merkwürdige Geräusche und dreht sich über 200 Grad nicht mehr Spieß spitze könnte etwas spitzer sein aber da will man nicht unbedingt meckern Leider musste ich ihn zurück schicken und bin somit jetzt ohne Drehspieß was auch kein Problem unbedingt ist aber leider hab ich auch noch keinen anderen für masterbuilt Gravity 1050 gefunden Bleibt nur noch selber bauen
