Works well but a couple of design issues
Bought these for dried mealworms for bluebirds plus other birds. Have worked quite well, so have gone to three up around the yard. Fed many pounds of mealworms to birds over winter! A couple of design flaws cause some annoyance: (1) very light, so blows in wind, plus can rotate rapidly when bird lands/leaves; (2) perches do not lock down so can be flipped up by birds leaving. Dealt with weight problem fairly successfully by using heavier gauge wire to hang, and attaching a set of large washers to the (hollow) bottom with a screw. Have tried a couple options to secure perches, but none have worked consistently (have not glued since prefer they are able to be removed). Attached a plastic plant tray to the bottom of a fourth one and trying live mealworms in it right now.

Bluebird Perfection
I am a bluebird enthusiast. I have been looking for a meal worm feeder that wasn’t open to the weather. This keeps the dried mesl worms dry. I even saw the dad bluebird trying to teach his babies to use it. I gave only four stars because the perches on the sides broke off! I can’t imagine how that happened. I got glued them back on but I’m not sure how long they will last.

My bluebirds don't seem to love it!
It's small, which I knew-so I expected to be filling it often. Not happening! My birds don't seem to like it. Not sure why, but maybe because the mealworms are quite a bit of work to get out of the small holes. I would not recommend because of that.

This feeder works for mealworms
Every now and then a feeder step closes. No big deal. Fingers crossed the squirrels don’t destroy it!

Lightweight, but does the job so far
Look, it’s very inexpensive so I’m not surprised that it’s lightweight. Really the only issue with its weight is that, if a bird gets startled and quickly leaves, the little fold-up landing pads can jump into the up position and stay there until you manually put it back down. A couple of times, it swung so violently from the bird’s liftoff that the feeder jumped off of the hook. Regarding the color, I wish it was a different color, gray or green or something. The blue birds don’t stand out as well against the blue feeder, in my opinion. But I didn’t figure that into overall rating because I could see the color before ordering, obviously. One last comment, the feeder arrived without a lid, oddly. But I contacted the seller and they sent an entire replacement unit the next day I think. Two days later at most, so excellent response.

Good feder for mealworms
The birds in my yard took to this one very quickly: bluebirds, robins, grackles and other. They do tend to empty it quickly by pulling a lot of worms at once, but then they have them in the ground

Interesting
Great concept - except the engineering isn't so great. Not made for Mr & Mrs bluebird, not enough room on the ports for bigger birds. Maybe the littles could use it. Disappointed.

Small volume feeder
Holds a small amount. Hard to see volume of feed left. Not something I would consider buying again.

Great size
It’s a nice size, seems well made up to now. Haven’t seen birds on it but the bug level is going down so they are eating from it. Not sure if robins fit on it though and they seem to be the biggest mealworm eater in our area.

holds the mealworms securely against our constant wind, but the birds can get at it easily.
