Worth The Money

Jacks were well worth the Money, Bigger and heaver than Jacks that came on the camper, very pleased

I wouldn't put 5k pound load on one of these.

These are affordable and flimsy. The jacks perform ok if they are on a perfectly flat surface to support a perfectly stable trailer. Any angle introduced at all will have these jacks twisting in a scary way. I would feel safe using these at 1/2 to 1/3 of their stated capacity. The handle included also twists and bends while putting a load on the jacks. I don't expect it to last much longer than a week.

Lippert 285344 30" Scissor Jack

The media could not be loaded. It's a good, normal, sturdy scissor jack; it does the job. It stops the up/down motion as expected. It does not do much for controlling lateral movement (also, as expected). I love the circle shaped mount plate, because it let me mount it at a 45 degree angle. I think it gives a slight advantage to lateral stability, but the main reason I did that was so when the jack is retracted, the end doesn't stick out from under the trailer. That's one less thing to worry about when in a tight spot. I mounted them directly to the I-beam instead of the awful location that the RV manufacturer did: on the bumper. Now they're low profile, and if a bad road makes the tail drag on the ground, the bumper will hit long before these do. Since they're 30", they'll contact the ground long before they fully extend (which is what you want), but I still use blocks. After the pilot hole was drilled, I used a 11/32" drill bit for the final hole and then the supplied self-threading bolts went in fine. Between these, and my SteadyFast stabilizers (which I kept from my last trailer), I've had to drill 32 holes into RV I-beams (24 for mounting the SteadyFast twice, and 8 for these). The pilot hole makes all the difference; don't skip it!

Sturdy product

Arrived fast and item was just as described. Only negative it the bolt holes on top do not line up with existing/standard pattern bolt holes on the camper. Had to drill new holes but working g perfect now

Good solid stabilizer, easy to install

I used this stabilizer jack to replace one I damaged (it wasn’t all the way up when I moved the trailer). The replacement was easy to install. It took about 45 minutes to complete because of the need to move JT Strongarm hardware from the old one to the new one. Actual installation was removing 3 screws and one bolt (each RV maker differs) and then reversing the process. Make life easier by lowering the old jack so it doesn’t fall when unscrewed and raise the new one to just touch when installing it. The 5,000 pound version has a top round mounting plate that is slightly flimsier than I would prefer. I might consider removal of all the stabilizers and braze a stiffer top mounting plate on, in order to reduce trailer shaking.

Good but could be better

Extra long 30 inch length is great for added strength and stability. Having said that, the arms are a little weak, could use a thicker steel for even more stability.
