Although it may not exactly match the original - it works very well and is an easy fix.
As stated in another review, it's true that it isn't as thick as the original part for the Coast Brand 1B1X fill valve, but the replacement works very well. Be sure that to lightly grease the new part, and adjust the plunger and/or gasket until ballcock completely stops the water flow through the refill valve. You can tell it's working by looking at the water in the bowl after the ballcock lifts and the fill valve seems to stop. If the bowl water becomes completely still with no ripples at all, then you know the fill valve has stopped completely and everything is properly adjusted.

> DOES THE JOB
REPLACEMENT INSTALLATION > turn off the water to the toilet > unscrew the ball float, and lift it out > unscrew the three screws around the "corners" (or ears) of the ballcock top (see photoLasco 04-7175 Toilet Ballcock Repair Top Assembly for Coast Brand 1B1X ) > lift top off, then lift the plunger and (o-ring) gasket out. There is no need to make special notes of the orientation---the parts fit only one way > thoroughly coat the rubber portion of the plunger and (o-ring) gasket with silicon grease**.Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease, 3 oz. Tube Let the grease soak in for 10 minutes or so. > thoroughly clean the grooves into which the plunger and (o-ring) gasket fit---best with a dry cottton cloth. Q-tips can be helpful > Wipe ALL excess silicon grease** off the plunger---you do NOT have to wipe extra grease off the (o-ring) gasket > Set the (o-ring) gasket in place in the groove. > Set the plunger in place (narrow end of the plastic part up) > Set the cap in place and tighten the three screws. DO NOT use a power screwdriver, as that may overtighten. You want them good and tight, but without breaking the plastic. > Re-install the ball float > Turn the water back on. Test > If the water does not stop running at the end of the flush, you may have to adjust the center screw (which actually presses down on the plunger. This screw adjusts the height of water in the bowl. If the height is too high, then the toilet will "run on". If the height is too low, then the toilet doesn't flush properly. So, screw the screw out most of the way, test, screw in one turn, test, and repeat until the toilet flushes properly > If the above doesn't stop your run-on problem, then you may need a new flapper (on the bottom right of the toilet bowl, below the ball float).Kohler GP83064 Flapper Used In Older One-Piece Toilets MAINTENENCE / REPAIR > Simply cleaning your old plunger and (o-ring) gasket (and the grooves into which the o-ring sets) and lubricating with silicon grease** is usually enough---you should only have to actually replace these once every 10 years or so. > The same goes for the flapper. Usually, you can simply clean it (and where it seats in the toilet), lubricate with silicon grease**, and it will work without replacement. > Actually, the same goes for leaking faucets---disassemble, clean, coat the o-ring seals with silicon grease**, and reassemble, and they will almost always work fine for another 5 or 10 years. Important > **DO NOT use petroleum grease---it will severely damage the rubber seals > Compare the Amazon photos with the parts of your toilet to be certain that you are ordering the right parts. > "Clean" generally means to rub with a cotton cloth (not just a paper towel) until no more black comes off onto the cloth. You can use a little soap if that helps. > Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

Worked as promised for short money to boot
I'm a plumbing contractor, and a customer of mine has a rose colored 35+ year old Eljer one-piece toilet with an "IBIX Sheath" ballcock in it that was running. I was initially going to replace the whole ballcock with a comparable one I searched out here on Amazon (I think the typically universal "Fluidmaster" brand ballcock as a replacement might've been too tall for this one-piece w.c. profile), but after reading some reviews on the poor results some had with the aftermarket replacement(s) sold here, I happened upon this rebuild kit. The rubber 'washer/seat' is the only part the wears out anyways causing the ballcock to run, not the plastic housing and/or shank, so with that and the rubber sealing 'O'-ring, I figured that should be all I needed, providing it was compatible. Long story short -- it was. For 5 bucks +/- it was definitely worth the shot. My customer is happy and so am I. Worked as promised.

NOT THE SAME AS ORIGINAL - DOESN'T WORK
The photo shows the difference. Original is on the right and this product is on the left. Washers are noticeably thinner and cheaper. Big waste of money and time. I will be returning.

Fits my older Kohler toilet (model #K3397) perfectly. Minutes to change-out the old one. So far after one week everything OK...no more water leaking past the fill valve.

Exact fitment
Couldn’t find this specific item at a Big name hardware store. Been needing to get around to this for years. This is a niche find, the struggle is real when looking for this exact fitment. Better than than having to think about buying a $100 specialty toilet tank plunger and flapper. Now our toilet is not overflowing.

My old Kohler low profile toilet from 1985 had started to run continuously and I could no longer get it to stop by fiddling with it. This kit, along with the Lasco 04-7175 Ballcock Repair Top Kit was just what I needed to make an acceptable repair without replacing the entire Ballcock unit. This kit stopped the leaks with fresh new seals, which tend to harden over the years, especially with our water.

did not solve the problem
The plunger does not shut the water off compared to the original part it has fewer (I'll call them washers) and when the plunger engages the water still seeps through and the toilet keeps running. The gasket fit perfectly however I had to use the original plunger to keep the toilet operational albeit not perfect. I guess I need the original plunger from Kohler but no plumbing supplier stocks them anymore. The toilet in question is a K3402 Rialto and it's built in under a banjo shape countertop and to replace the toilet would mean a major bathroom renovation.
