Does not fit a 2002-2003 Rialto 3386

Please be aware that even though the description says that it fits a Rialto 3386, it did not fit mine. The original flapper was molded of silicone and was one piece including the hinge pin (what I am calling the hinge pin snaps into a grove in the rear of the flapper housing and allow the flapper to rotate up and down). The other Kohler toilets in the house are a different model and the hinge pin is part of the flapper housing. This product is a GP1078440. I re-ordered a GP84995 which has a pin. I will try and post a picture when I get the replacement but the old flapper will probably fall to pieces if I take it out again. I am assuming that there was a model change subsequent to the purchase of our toilet. Interestingly enough, the Kohler website shows the Rialto as Model 3386 and The San Raphael as being model 3384. The back of the flapper package shows them reversed. The package says it is “crafted” in the USA but this kind of labeling error is usually seen on Chinese manufacturing. I like Kohler and I like Amazon but I have about $300 of time into what should be a 5-minute job. PS: I have attached a picture of this product 1078440 vs the one that works, 84995, vs the original. I now see there are two problems. 1. The 1078440 does not come with a hinge pin. You need to verify that you have one if you order the 1078440. Otherwise order the 84995. 2. As a reviewer stated in 2017, RCB??, the legs are too short on the 1078440. Yes and no. It appears that the some of the vertical standpipes that the flapper attaches to has the groves on the front and some have them on the back (rear). If your toilet has the groves on the front of the standpipe then this is the correct product, 1078440. If the groves are on the rear of the standpipe, then the legs of this product are too short and you need to order the 84995.

Genuine parts work best!

I had purchased a generic flapper from Home Depot, but it didn't work well. I should have gone with the genuine Kohler Flapper instead. It worked perfectly and installed with little effort. You get what You pay for, genuine parts work best. In the long run they will save You time and money.

HARD TO RETURE A ITEM !!

iam not pleased because the flaper valve that i bought was the wrong size and when i went to return the the item i could not print a lable and the closes ups store was 20 miles away,that would cost me $15 for gas.The valve only cost $7 so i just kept the valve--I WAS NOT HAPPY

My local hardware store was out and I was not going to walk a couple miles to get to the next closest since, due to social distancing, the buses and trains aren't running. Amazon had this and it looked right to me, took a chance and ordered it. Took a week to get here, jerry rigged the flapper using string which wasn't elegant and it did leak a teeny bit but it worked. I got a notice from the city Water Dept saying something is leaking so FIX IT NOW. Jez, everyone is giving out edicts these days. Got up early today and fixed it first thing, even before brushing my teeth. I've never done this before, almost never even look into the toilet tank. But taking out the old flapper and putting in this new red one was so easy. The best part is that it works. How does the Water Dept even know my toilet was leaking just a little???

Works perfectly no leaking, just a very short chain

The media could not be loaded. This flapper works good (see type of toulet in the video). I had no idea if it would fit because i had a diffrent flapper before but could not find it anymore so i had to go with this one that's general. I don't understand why they make the chain so short, o mean a couple of links more would be better and definatly work for all 2" toilets. I do recomand buying this flapper if you don't find your old brand it should fit just fine just remember to keep a couple of links from thw old one. As for durability I can't say but i guess it ahould be the same as any other silicone flapper between 3-5 years to perform right. A+

Sharkie Flapper for Kohler Toilet

The Kohler toilet was constantly running water in the main bathroom. Ordered this new Sharkie Flapper and it was very easy to install and prevent further running water in the toilet.
