WOW! I'm doing 2 reviews so I can give it 10 STARS
The Kohler toilet with the fancy little brass knob in the center of the tank lid in our powder room hasn't worked this good since the day I installed it. I paid $600 (contractors price) for it in 2001 because #1 thought it was cute and in spite of my doubts I got it for her. My experience has been cute designer plumbing fixtures are nice to look at in a magazine ad but little else. Stay as far away from them as you would someone who says, "Hi I'm from the government and I'm here to help you." But she wanted it and there was a time when I did things she wanted to make her happy, but I digress. With four toilets in our home I've replaced more toilet parts more often than I care to guess. Four years ago I completely rebuilt every toilet in the house and decided to use 100% OEM Kohler parts, God am I stupid or what? As I fought those blasted 3 legged Kohler tank gaskets I kept telling myself I had to endeavor to persevere like Lone Watie in The Outlaw Josie Wales, and after a while I began to think, if I ever finished I'd declare war on Kohler. When I saw this flush valve I was skeptical but went ahead and ordered this for our cute flush twice powder room toilet because it had to work better than that over priced OEM stuff from Kohler and did it ever. I told #1 not to let the cat watch the water when she flushed because it might be sucked into the vortex and we'd never see it again. It took longer to remove the old Kohler parts out and clean the black gunk off my hands from their deteriorating rubber gasket than it did to install the Plumb Pak K835-9 Flush Valve with silicone gaskets. I'm ordering one more for another toilet but unfortunately 2 other toilets have flush 3 times Kohler canisters. Update: Sept. 5, 2021 - Last month we had house guests who seemed to go out of their way to use the powder room toilet rather than the other toilets. Before leaving they asked what I did to it to make it flush like that. I told them about the Plumb Pak K835-9 and they said they were buying new flush valves as soon as they got home. And as Paul Harvey used to say ... "and now here's the rest of the story." Last week #1 said she had to turn the water off to the powder room toilet because it wouldn't stop running. I turned the water on checked it and everything was fine. Two days later she said it was running again and turned the water off again. After the fourth time it was cleat the valve wasn't seating properly until the tank was empty then it would be okay for a couple flushes. I may contact the manufacturer so someone can read from a script telling me in spite of being a licensed, insured, bonded and heavily taxed professional who's installed and/or rebuilt toilets for 40 years I didn't follow the package directions. Update: Nov. 3, 2021 - Shortly after the Sep. 5th update I found the culprit was the flush valve pull chain. It was twisting and shortening the chain enough to prevent the flapper from sealing. Unlike a side mounted flush lever a tank top flush knob rotates 360 degrees and when #1 lifted the flush know she was inadvertently turning it clockwise. I may eventually change the chain to the old style beaded chain that rotates at every segment but until then we're careful to lift the knob straight up and haven't had any problems since.

Good water flow
I replaced two flush valves that had been installed 24 years ago. These definitely can be adjusted to use less water. Easy to install.

Fits Jacuzzi plastic flapper
This fits on the Jacuzzi 3-inch white plastic flapper better than original. The raise ridge fits perfectly around the cone in the center of the flapper.

Excellent !
I’m using this keeney flapper on a 3 year old Aquasource, (Lowes brand), elongated bowl, ADA compliant toilet with 3 inch flush valve. The original blue flapper with ball chain, was made a bit shorter in overall length than it should have been, or, overtime, it shrank a bit. In either case the result was that the outer lip had begun to flex downward into the flush opening, allowing water to seep past. About every 30 miin. the tank fill valve would operate to replace the lost water. Very annoying, wasteful, & would be expensive if not fixed. This replacement flaper was a breeze to install. It fit the side posts on the flush valve tower easily, but securely too. It snaps on, as the green plastic is rigid. Because of this, I would not recomend frequent removal & reinstall cyles.. The disc portion of the green plastic body is a larger diameter than the flush valve opening, and the silicone gasket beneath it is slightly smaller than the flapper body, but a bit larger than the flush vale too. So no risk of the same type of failure mode as with the original flapper. I set the cone on the underside, (by rotating it), for a low flow toilet, which seems to work realy well. It has only been in place about 2 weeks so I can’t decisively speak to longevity, but it seems like it will last.

Looking To Save Water And Precious Resources In The Drought.
This is the replacement Keeney seal that replaces the infamous toilet seals that are made by the company with a K. I am not quite sure why we are fooling around with the red material in the "K" product, they know it is crap- we know it is crap and in California where there is a terrible drought the red inferior material will and does waste millions of gallons as it allows the toilet to dump water down the drain. Next failure I will insert the Keeney valve and hopefully be finished with the leaking "K" red seals and on the way to happiness and water savings. This is the replacement for the Keeney valve that is the substitute for that bad "K" soft elastomer valve material that rots and deteriorates in water- in a couple of months. The toilets with the "K" in their name have this giant 3 inch Red valves- for the 1.6 Gallon flush water saving toilets and there appears to be a couple of companies ( Keeney is one) that make valves and seals that do not deteriorate. I ended up purchasing an array of non-"K" parts to see which ones will last in the water saving "K" toilets. Updates will come with experience and the longivity of the flapper and seal from Keeney.

Big Improvement
I used this on a toilet with a 10'' rough-in and consequently the tank is narrower and holds less water than the standard 12" rough-in size. Usually I have to hold down the lever to even have the slightest chance of getting it to flush completely as there never seemed to be enough flushing power. I've tried two other flush valves, the original with different flappers and one other that was supposed to be high performance and neither worked very well. I was going to replace the toilet, but decided to try one more time since this one had a larger opening of 3" instead of the usual 2" and I could adjust the water level enough to get an extra 1" of water in the tank. The valve barely fit in my narrow tank, but did so without any modifications. Flushing performance is 100% better with this valve so I'm glad I don't have by another toilet. The only thing I noticed is there does not seem to be any noticeable difference the performance mode and the economy mode, but that may be due to my adjustments with water level, so I'm not taking any stars for that. It's such an improvement that I'll probably try to lower the level again to try and save water and see if that changes anything. Overall very happy!
