A+++ Don’t even hesitate
I’ve wanted mahogany garage doors since we bought our home ten years ago. I bought this in 2020 and put it off for three years I was so nervous. Everyone was talking me out of it. But I finally decided to give it a go and I couldn’t be more pleased. It does take some skill. Read the directions thoroughly. Paint on the perfect day 70 no direct sunlight helps to keep the paint cool to spread evenly. Don’t overlap. Do multiple coats to darken as desired. I went over the inside three times as I liked the darker detail. I used the glove then a smooth brush 2nd coat. Finished with an oil poly in semi gloss to pop the wood grain. Oil poly adds color and ambers over time. Neighbors slowed and came by to watch. I had to pause during the rains so everyone was anxious for the results. Neighbors were shocked. Some came to apologize for doubting me. Others offered me money to paint theirs. It’s my dream it turned out perfectly and I couldnt be prouder of myself. Ps the hardware and bolts cost $29 and are magnets! They made the whole door! Am now painting my kitchen cabinets with this stuff! I mean the kit comes with everything except paint trays and poly and brush for poly. Saved me $4000 on wood doors. You can’t tell at all! Love love love! Trust the process. That’s my best advice!

Exceeds expectations
Love love love love love this product! I used it on the two columns in our from porch, which were just white like the rest of the house so they blended in, to give our house a more modern farm house look and I think I achieved that. It really gives the exterior of the house some character and it’s our own mark on this home we’ve been in for only a little over a year. As the days go by it looks more and more natural as if the columns were meant to be like that always. Can’t wait to try it on my garage door.

Turns out great as long as you aren’t a perfectionist
I did my front door and garage door. It didn’t take that long. You do have to move briskly because it dries fast. If you are a perfectionist, pass on this product. It went much faster on a textured surface. My front door was smooth so I had to get a bit more artsy with it. When doing your garage panels, make sure to swipe all the way across the small squares. Although visitors can’t see the difference, it definitely stands out to me. Wash the doors before hand. Make sure to let it dry. Patience is not my strongest virtue, so I do have an area on the top panel where it was a too wet and left a small odd pattern. No one else seems to notice it. The front door took a lot more than two coats. I kept layering it until I got the look I wanted. It did turn out darker than the garage, but it’s far enough away it doesn’t matter. The garage door could have used two full coats but it got one coat plus spot checks. Don’t do it on a windy day. I tried everything I could do to keep the plastic down. I still got paint on my concrete. #firstworldproblems I didn’t do in between the panels and I don’t regret it. I used the mitt on the garage door (textured) but not the front door. Durability wise, I live in MN and completed this project this past fall. So, give or take five months, it’s doing well. I paired this with the magnetic “windows” and “hinges”. I think it turned out nice. I feel like it’s obvious it’s painted but all my visitors have said they thought it was real. So… I either have super nice friends or the project turned out ok. I do recommend this and I would definitely do it again. Crossing my fingers it wears/ages ok.

Good Cheap Alternative
I wanted this look on my garage. The new door with a wood look would run about $3000. Then I saw this and it had decent reviews. I thought what the hell, worst case I repaint the door. Well I did it and it took me about 2 hours. Came out great for $100 bucks. Also bought the hardware for $20. Follow the directions from the video link they send you. The one advice I have is make sure it is cool, this stuff dries fast. I would not recommend if it is above 65. Otherwise wait until it cools down at night or early morning.

Just gorgeous
I can't tell you enough how beautiful this looks in person, the pictures don't make justice to how pretty it is in person, i got English oak and did like 3 light layers with the glove to get the tone I wanted, in the pictures looks like a bunch of marks but not in person!! 100% love it.. our neighbors already stopped by to say how beautiful it looks.

Easy to use paint kit
This kit was easy to use and a good and inexpensive way (well compared to buying a new garage door) to spruce up your curb appeal. Honestly, we skipped the first step and did not paint the base coat because our door before was already a brown shade (painted it less than a year ago) and since we love the color and just wanted the “look”of wood, we didn’t feel as though it was necessary to paint the door again, so we skipped right to the second step after we washed and dried the door. The instructions were easy to follow and we watched the recommended video on YouTube before starting. The wood grain finished coat was easy to apply with the mitt. The finish did dry very fast and the mitt did get dry easily (we did wet it before and kept it in a baggy before our second coat) so we had to go pretty fast. We waited 30 minutes to apply the second coat and it turned out really good. I’m happy that we were able to finish the project almost in half the time it would take if we did the first step. It took us not even 2 hours to complete. We have a lot left over so we probably will repaint our front door to match. I know they have one specifically for front doors, but it doesn’t make sense to buy a whole new one when I have plenty of product from the garage door kit. We hardly used the painters tape, tarps, and gloves since we have all that from previous painting projects. In the end, we are happy with the results and glad we can support a small business in the process.

Looks like a real wood garage door
Took about 6 hours to apply including drying time. There were 2 of us. I did two full coats of the stain and then touched up some spots. Got lots of compliments from neighbors.

The look of wood, if you’re not real close.
Spent lots of time and took care with prep. Five coats were needed to achieve the desired shade, but in the end, I nailed it. Stand back 15 feet and you can’t tell they aren’t really wood. Had some trouble with chipping because I did it before hanging them, but nothing that was a big deal. Love the results.

Looks nice
Hard to apply but worth the money

The product is not for me
The idea of an all-in-one kit that would be all thought out for me seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately, the result is not a look that I would want on the front of my house. As usual, if we want to have exceptional results we have to put some time and effort into it. Doing some research on YouTube I found out some techniques that could provide that great look that I was looking for and how to do it. With a beige latex base and a mix of gel stain and clear coat (about 3 parts stain to 1 part clear coat) and a little creative artwork, you can do something worth putting on the front of your house. Unfortunately, this product is not worth the money and does not give a wood grain look, and both the seller and Amazon will not refund or help me in this matter. I lose $115 in the experience and had to find my own solution to do the job over.

The AFTER speaks for itself!
Great little project for an amazing result! Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Very easy to do, just give it a couple hours and be patient. The "in-process" look may freak you out but rest assured greatness is coming :) Very easy to apply all steps. Looking forward to using more of their products

Do not recommend
The base coat is easy to use but the actual "wood look" is difficult to achieve.
