Great time spent crafting
I added buttons and I used my own leather sewing wax thread to sew the back I sized down for a great fit , I'm a 7.5 and I got the men's small 6/7 . I also added sheep wool insoles . I always get creative and do my own thing , I just needed help, I also drew out the pattern on paper so I can but my own leather and be more creative ☺️price is good

Not for rounding, has a rubber inner sole glued on it which is hard to remove but can be done.
If you are thinking about this for an earthing shoe, just be aware that they have glued a rubberized inersole on the main piece of leather. This inner sole is not conducive to earthing. I was able to remove most of it in pieces but I don't know if there is any remaining.glue that will prevent grounding. If you don't understand what I'm talking about this moccasin will likely work for you. I did find the size of mine ran a little large, my shoe size is 8 so I bought a 7/8. If I buy from this company again I would get a 6/7. I happened to have an old leather jacket that needs to be repurposed and a great piece of sheeps skin. Before I laced this shoe together I traced the pattern, including some design and size changes and will soon be making a few more pairs. All in all I gave it 5 stars because it is a good moccasin kit for someone who is not earthing/ grounding. ( google It) I think the manufacturers should have given the choice by including the inner sole separately and indicating on the leather where to glue it if you want it. I cut another peace of leather and made my own grounding sole, using a shoe glue just on the edges of the sole.

The instructions are confusing. Cut only ONE lace in half for the heel on both.
These would be a lot of fun to put together if the instructions weren’t so confusing. They are really great once you finally get them together. All videos on line are wrong as far as the stitching. My wife finally figured it out. Working on the second one the instructions said to assemble just like the first, however if you cut the lace for the heel assembly like the first you are screwed. Not sure why the instructions don’t tell you NOT to cut another lace for the second heel, but I did and had to tie the lace back with knots. They are worth the money, and they are really comfy for indoor type slippers.

happy with purchase
When I was a teenager, I had a pair of moccasins without a bottom sole that my sister had bought me from the local IndianTrading Post (store). I wore them just about everyday. I have been buying them from that same store for years. I no longer live in that state and wanted a new pair. I looked around and decided that this time I would make them using a kit. I am a pretty crafty person and they seemed an easy kit to try. I received them yesterday and took the time to put them together. They are so cute and comfortable. I take a size 7.5 to 8 but wide width depending on the shoe. Concerned that these mocs were narrow I purchased the 8/9. After putting them together, I found that they fit really well everywhere but the heel. That was fine, I just tightened the lacing in the heel area. This fixed the loose heel area and still made the shoe look nice. I was also concerned with the color of the leather, but they are not the weird color of yellow, they are just a light color leather. I am sure with use the color will darken as most untreated leather does. I recomend and plan to buy another pair.

Nice, soft leather...odd colors?
Overall, these were pretty simple to put together. The first one took me about 45 minutes with constantly rechecking the directions and fixing mistakes, but the second one only took about 15 without even looking at the sheet. Mine don't look QUITE like the picture, but not too bad for a first time with zero stitching skills. The big issue I have is with the coloring. I don't know if the pieces were grabbed from two different sources, but the sole is a couple shades darker than the cuff and toe cap, as the pictures show. About the sizing being small...that all depends. If you're wearing them with socks then your normal size might be a little snug, but when barefoot your size should be pretty true. With bare feet I'm around an 8.5, so going by other reviews I made a mistake and bumped it up to the 10. Much too big. Not a huge deal as the leather tends to stick to your feet and they're for laying around in, but I easily have a finger width behind the heels when I pull them tight down on the toes. In the end, the leather seems to be fairly high quality and is a pretty good project, especially considering that buying leather moccasins will run you at least twice as much, probably closer to three times. If the colors were uniform I'd probably give them 5 stars, but since they almost look two-tone, I have to knock it down to 4.

They feel good on my feet.
It took a little bit of thinking to understand the instructions but they worked out great. I think I will buy another pair or two for my family.
