Nice little traveling carrier - would only use for short trips

I have 2 pet parakeets and I used this to bring them home both times. It’s small, easy to assemble and sturdy enough. However, the bottom of the carrier is quite slippery so depending on the animal you’re putting in it, I would recommend putting a small cloth or paper towel on the bottom. Neither of my birds stood on the perch, they stood on the floor of the carrier because isn’t that tall. I wouldn’t recommend trying to fit a bird bigger than a budgie in here, and I (personally) would never put more than one budgie in at once. Also, because it is very small, I would only recommend using this for very short trips, for example, to go the vet. Since it is so easy to put together, I just keep it dismantled and flat under the cage, so in case of an emergency I can set it up and go. This carrier is great, but its functionality really just depends on what type of animal and what size of animal you’re trying to put inside. I know this little carrier comes in other sizes too, so apply this information however it helps you. Hope this helps! ????

Good Travel Cage

Good travel cage, used to transport a guinea a small distance. Had no issues using the cage. A bit tricky to set up but it does stay in place once secured properly. If it wasn’t tricky to set up, it would likely fall apart right away, so it is actually a very good thing that it is. Would recommend this cage for any travels less than a day or to have in case of an emergency like a hurricane to grab your loved pet quickly and safely.

Bought for baby bunny

It works for a small animal. Like hamster or baby rabbit. Wouldn't be much room for any thing else to be honest but works good for small animal

Just the right size

I have an older lovebird that doesn't climb anymore so I was looking for a travelling cage for him. This cage has enough room for his nestbox and with the high sides keeps most of the seed mess contained.

Love this travel cage got it for birds but one ...

Love this travel cage got it for birds but one big think that I didn't like is that it has the door on the top so If I had to put 2 birds (budgies) in this cage, the one who is already in this travel cage would escape or they can get their head stuck in the door way. Also I was lucky that I ordered this cage in two different sizes one in Med, and other in Large to see what the size difference looks in person and would be able to decide which one I need to keep and would work for me if I use this cage to take my budgies to see vet which is 45 mins away. In my opinion, this cage should have been called "Small" size as this size is fairly small enough to take only 1 budgie max but you can make it work and put 2 budgies if you don't have to drive that far and they won't have to stay in this small travel cage for long amount of time. I like that this cage's door is easy to open and close whereas this cage in "Large" size that cage's door is hard to open or close. Because of the bars its hard to put stainless steel food cups in this cage and only plastic ones would work. I would recommend this cage for only one love bird or budgie for traveling for short amount of time. Quality is great but don't like the paint job as I used this cage to put them under shower and I saw on one corner the paint was gone and I could see the brown rusted bar on that corner so I wouldn't use this for that reason. I would say get this cage if you have prime membership so you can buy and see if it'll work for you if not then you can easily return this and will get refund. I got prime membership only for a month in which I ordered this cage so I wouldn't have to pay for the yearly prime membership which I don't need. Also if you're okay with it's door opening position, and that it has all the horizontal bars then you might like this. I got another small bird cage from Petco which I use both as a travel cage or separating the sick bird and putting him in that cage but that one has all vertical bars but there's no problem putting the stainless steel food cups in there or the plastic food cups. So for traveling I would take the cage I got from Petco and this cage but in Large size. So I can put the sick bird on vet appointment in this Kaytee Cage in Large size and other 3 in the cage that I got from Petco so if the vet needs to do some fecal test it would be easier for him to do that kinda testing. I can't leave my 3 budgies at home while taking one sick bird to vet alone as that never worked and they yell and get frustrated if they don't see each other so I've to take them all to vet even if one bird or 2 are sick. Sorry for long review but just trying to help others who are looking for best travel cage on budget. Will post pictures of this cage in Medium and Large both for size comparison and the cage I got from Petco. Let me know if you want to know which cage I got from Petco that I use for sick birds or even separating the birds if there's some fighting going on between them. Would recommend this though!

Great value! Amazing Customer Service

Got several of the Medium size as emergency crates for our birds for Tornado Season. I love the sturdiness of these little cages. One of them came missing the handle and Customer Service at Kaytee immediately took care of it. Much Appreciated.

Perfect travel crate

This product is mislabeled, its actually the medium sized travel cage, which is exactly what I was looking for. I am travelling to South Africa with my Senegal Parrot and I look forward to using this cage. The wire is really hard to put on to the base but I think it is a good thing and adds sturdiness to the cage. The built in perch was also hard to put in, but I don't mind because at least it came with one. I bought this cage because it is the only one that fits the Ethiopian Airline in-cabin pet crate size requirements. I also bought the Kaytee Come Along soft crate to go over it and fits perfectly! I will post an updated review once my Senegal is actually in it. Update: my parrot didnt mind at all! It was actually the perfect size. He could stand up in it and we were able to add so much food and water. We did have trouble in the Toronto Aiport, despite being sealed by a government veterinarian. One thing I found was that the perch was quite useless, so instead I bought a small wooden ladder (found in pet stores for birds) and cut it so it could fit. It gave him more grip and sturdiness.

Good little carrier

I bought this to travel with my three female rats. I wanted a carrier with bars instead of all plastic or part fabric so that I could attach their water bottle as well as a hanging food dish and hammock. I'm happy with the product, but as recommended in another review, I secured the top to the base with zip ties to assure that it wouldn't fall apart when held from the top.

To small for Guinea Pigs

Very cheap construction and way way way to small to put Guinea Pigs in. The cage “snaps” into the base which essentially means as far as a carrier goes would not advise purchasing or using it. Since due to its cheap construction I can honestly say that there is a huge risk of the bottom falling right off.

Very well made

It's not exactly the most comfy cage for travel but it's sturdy and easy to use and does the job I do recommend this to anyone who wants to travel with their little pet

Works for my rats

I use this to transport my two adult male rats and they have enough room to manoeuvre around each other in it. I do hold the bottom of the carrier when I am holding it as I am afraid their weight could detach the frame from the bottom but overall it’s a great little travel item!
