Outstanding bag for the price!

Pros: perfect size-lightweight- structured- zippers work smoothly-excellent price-dog very happy in this one! She's just over 6lbs maltipoo Cons- top flap to rigid and difficult to fold back- wish it had side pocket for my wallet. I hate the color combo and want all discreet black or gray color. Before my dog chewed up the zippers it was stellar! Now that zippers have been chewed up it's still good but zippers no longer smooth. This is my favorite bag for functional use and structure. I had bought 3 prior to this. My 2nd favorite would be Original Sherpa. If I wanted to spend more money I would buy the Sleepy Pod Atom Carrier. UPDATE: 7/3/17 I have found a better bag on this Amazon website....the Kenox Striped Carrier. IMO it has the componets that this one is missing, such as pocket for phone, wallet, better color combination, and top flap rolls back and secures with a snap.

Disappointed

Let me start by saying this carrier may work for your situation, it just didn't work for mine. I foster kittens, specifically litters of kittens. I typically have 4-6 kittens in a litter and they all need to go for vet appointments at the same time. They're fairly small during their travel so we don't need a huge carrier (they are around 2.5 pounds when they get spay/neutered which is the last appointment I take them for). I do also have 3 adult resident cats that are my personal pets and occasionally need a carrier for them as well (depending on the litter, I may also have the kittens mama too). With all the kitty chaos in my house, having durable carriers available is essential and I like to have some spare on hand just in case. One of the problems I have with keeping this many carriers on hand is space! Who has an entire closet to dedicate to stacking carriers up? One of my fellow fosters had a carrier that folded down for storage so I have been on the hunt for one. I saw this particular one and decided to try it, unfortunately it did not work for me. This carrier is uniquely shaped which has pros and cons. It is easier to carry than my traditional hard sided rectangular carriers. This one has a shoulder strap in addition to the handle, which is really nice. I wish all my other carriers had a shoulder strap to help me keep everyone steady. It folds flat for storage - GREAT BONUS, which is the main reason I ordered it. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that it is held together by one long zipper. There is no way to fold it down without completely disassembling it. You have to reassemble for every use, if you fold for storage. This isn't terribly difficult but the zipper wasn't easy to use either. The fabric had folded over and my fiance had to help me get it zipped together. The actual space available in the carrier is super small for being a 'medium' sized carrier. Because it angles up at the top, it really won't work for multiple animals because there is no head space. I can see it working for a single, small dog or a single, petite cat. My adult cats are too hefty for this to be a good idea and I feel bad putting them in a carrier with little to no movement. It is lightweight, takes little space for storage, and easy to carry. Pricing varies WILDLY - right now the gray is around $19 and the brown is $45. It's a good deal around $20 but I absolutely would not pay $45 for it.

Great for a small kitty going to and from the vet

This review is for the K&H pet carrier I have not had good luck with fabric pet carriers in the past. The problem is that the zippers always break. I got a size medium for my small kitten thinking that a larger size would be more sturdy. It seems like sizing up has been a good choice, because he doesn't act like he minds being in this one and it seems sturdy for my purposes. I only wanted something that I could carry him to and from the vet in. With Covid, we have to have the pets in a carrier in the car and able to hand them out an open door or window. I can get this one out my truck window. It's a lot easier than the medium to large plastic carrier that we had used last time - it had to go on the back of the truck and wasn't that easy for the vet tech to carry. I love that it collapses down flat for storage. It has a comfortable pad in the bottom too, which I am sure he will appreciate when he loses his tom cat jewels next month. The zipper is STILL nylon, but it seems more sturdy. I have put my cat in this one a few times and transported him once on a short trip and had no issues with it. It would be really nice though if they could make one of these with a good quality metal zipper. or use a velcro flap to go OVER the zipper for reinforcement and extra stability. Getting a size larger than I seemed to need maybe helped too.

Some good... some bad

We have a Pom and thought he might like to try a new carrier... He doesn't like it. The base is like a thin cardboard covered in thin faux Sherpa material so I imagine it's not real comfortable especially in a longer transport. I also don't see it lasting a long time either. I got him in it once and it wasn't roomy enough for him to turn around and get out so when I finally got him out he refused to go back in for a pic. Speaking to that, there is only 1 zipper that runs around one opening then down the base and around the other side. So there is really only one opening unless you open it completely which makes it pretty much a flat piece. I could see that being beneficial if you have a pet that doesn't like the vet and refuses to come out of their carrier. You could simply place them on the table and unzip the whole thing and it lays flat exposing the pet. Our Pom is pushing 10 lbs so I would definitely say stay under our closer to that weight limit for your pet.
