Very nice carrier
Very nice and big carrier
Scritto da: AndsterManNYC
Has all features for best price (roomy, nice clean appearance, firm but soft and plush removable base cushion, 3- sided windows)
EDIT/UPDATE 07/'16 : I still have this after two years, but one thing I noticed is that the wire framing (sort of like a very rigid coat hangar) on the top (right where the top opening flap and the side flap zippered openings meet), the wire frame broke through the plastic covering and is sticking out and exposed inside the carrier. Since it's on the top of the inside (sort of in the inside seam of the carrier), I'm not concerned that it will poke my little buddy or that he'll get hurt, but it's just a matter of time I'm guessing before the wire frame busts through the other parts of the carrier. I'm still using this for very short trips (to my friend's apartment down the block or to the vet) and I still think it's a good value for the price, but it's definitely showing its "wear". Original Review: Bottom line is that my cat really doesn't like any travel bags because it means he's going to the vet, so getting him into ANY travel bag is a chore. That said, for about $35, I got a pretty decent cat travel bag: both side and top openings, nice zippers and velcro closures, mesh windows all around except for one small side in the back (which instead has a mesh folder allowing me to slip in papers or other thin/small items...nice touch. I got the large which is not too big (so I can still sort of carry with the shoulder strap), but is still roomy enough to still give my 10 lb cat room to relax or move a bit. Almost all of the other "large" sized carriers are only 19" in length, while this is 20" and it seems to make a difference I also like the fact that it's a soft-sided bag, but still has some support which helps it keep its shape. Also, this is airline carry-on compatible since it's soft-sided and will collapse under a seat as needed during takeoff and landing (though I truly cannot imagine taking him on a flight when I can just about get him in my building elevator without him going absolutely ape-sh#t). The one very slight negative is that the plush, faux-mink padded bottom (which is detachable so you can remove the cover for washing) is held in place to the bottom of the carrier with only one small piece of velcro, so once my cat is squirming a bit, the padded bottom sometimes ends up pushed a bit to the side if I'm not careful during carrying; it would be better if there were velcro attachments on all four sides of the bag and cushion to keep the cushion from shifting so easily (you may want to try and attach your own additional velcro), but I'm living with it for now and simply being a bit more careful when I'm carrying the bag. Since my cat is pretty gentle and I'll only be using this bag for short trips to the vet or carrying it on my lap, I'm not too worried about him tearing through the side-view mesh with his claws or teeth, but I have seen other reviews where folks had some concern that the mesh can be torn fairly easily with a more aggressive or active cat. The Sherpa carrier (large) appears to have zippers attached to more sturdy material, but it's almost double the price and it's only 19" in length. Anyway, overall very happy with the purchase and would buy again.

Kitty chic
Once upon a time, as a naive young graduate student, I believed the airline when I called to confirm that I could transport a cat as long as my carrier met X dimensions. Nary a word was mentioned about the need for a soft-sided carrier, and as grad students aren't long on common sense ... I never considered that aspect. Long story short, I showed up at the airport with my hard little carrier and the United people chuckled with glee at having me over a barrel. It was either fork over $75 for their soft-sided cat carrier that they happened to have for sale for people who didn't magically intuit their requirements or leave my cat in the Phoenix airport for a few weeks. I bought it, begrudgingly. I like to think that the stare I gave the sales woman as she offered to check my hard-sided carrier through to my destination as a free perk made my point. Anyway, fast forward six years. That sumptuous carrier (which, despite the $ never did make my coffee, answer the phones, or perform any feats of wonder) had developed a serious glitch in the zippering (i.e., the front zipper gave up the ghost entirely, halfway to the vet, allowing for a lovely 'psycho cat free in the car' story that I'll regale you with later). I came to Amazon looking for a replacement and was amazed to discover that I could get a good looking carrier for less than the price of my remaining kidney. I purchased this in taupe and mink, because who doesn't like pretending that their cats are in the 1%. I have a 15lb Siamese-ish long-bodied idiot. I say that because I'm unsure of his breeding but I'm pretty clear on his IQ limitations. While he's no shining star, he does have an amazing ability to break things. All the things. He's a scientist at heart really, I suppose. If it can't be destroyed by chewing and/or eating it, perhaps it can be clawed, pushed from a height, watered (oh, he's skilled), or otherwise desecrated. I've owned this carrier for a week, and already taken him to the vet in it (consider it a punishment). It carried great - far lighter than my previous carrier but it doesn't lose it's shape and squish him against my side when we're walking (good for his sense of space and my side's sense of not-being-bitten). While he's not fat, he is very long - but he's able to lay comfortably and spin around in there. I like to think the carrier's dusky-pink color enhances what remains of his manhood. Being at home is the real survival test though - he immediately set to work on a series of experiments. Clawing, biting, playing some sort of spinning game with a toy mouse inside the carrier. The nylon hasn't pulled. Carrier 1, idiot cat 0 I did wrap an old t-shirt over the mink pad. Some might say I did that to be nice and comfort the cat when we're away from home; others might intuit that he's an anger-shedder and t-shirts are easier to clean. Whatever the answer, I'm satisfied with my purchase and the price point ($30 some bucks). If he manages to kill it, I'll let you know!

Good quality
It's a nice looking carrier; I ordered large but not quite big enough for my 19 pounder. I can get him inside but not for very long. Why don't they make extra large? Also, be careful of the top. Although it's zippered around, there's Velcro on the flap. A strong cat like mine might be able to pop his head through if he panics and then maybe get out. However, if they had an extra large I would buy it and use this one for my 17 pound cat..... she is shorter in body.

Well worth the money
This is a very nice little cat carrier. It's very well made and I like it because my cat can see out three sides of it and doesn't seem as upset in it as she is in a hard case one where she just has little holes to look through. It's lightweight too which is nice for me. If you have a cat that is quite big, this is probably not a carrier for you though because it's not huge. It will comfortably hold a full grown cat but just not extra large Toms or fat cats.
