Decent choice, but not the best

I used this bedding for my gerbils. I normally buy carefresh brown natural paper bedding, but I couldn't find any and needed to get something. I was pleasantly surprised by this product given the price. Generally speaking, it will do everything you need it to do for gerbil bedding. They can chew it, it is absorbent, it is soft, and gerbils can build with it. I will continue to buy and recommend carefresh because this Kaytee product seems to be more of a 2 week required changing due to smell and compression. The carefresh I normally use is changed at the end of every three weeks and I would think you could use it longer if you needed to. if you change your bedding every two weeks, then this product seems perfectly fine and Iw ould use it again if needed.

Ripped off/ cozy bedding

Amazon will rip you off, they send 2 items per box and charge you for 2 items but when and if you return the box the only credit your return as 1 item, this product was okay, I worried about how much it absorbs for small pets vs how much they urinate and it can be misleading, but they definetly seems to be cozy.

LOVE MUST BUY

This is a must buy. I always get this for my hamster when she needs more ding and I get the 100litera and it lasts me up to 2-3 months , it’s so soft, and hold burrows very well. I love Kaytee brand please buy you won’t regret

Go-To Fluff Bedding for Mice

I've always bought this Clean n Cozy since I ever had pet mice! I use wood shavings as the main bedding, but separate a small section of the cage with just this bedding because it's easier to burrow in and obviously much more comfortable than wood chips. The ONLY reason I deducted 1 star is due to the inconsistency... sometimes I'll get that really soft fluffy white version and others, I'll get that thin toilet paper type of material. They both work, but obviously I'd like to know FOR SURE EXACTLY what I'm buying.... I got lucky this order and got the softer version but I had the thinner one before this re-order. Not sure why it's a gamble every re-order so I hope they solve this issue. But that aside, I strongly recommend this bedding for small rodents!

Amazing bedding!

Love this bedding so much! It’s low dust and is perfect for your hamster to tunnel in. Once the bag is open, it expands quite a bit. I change my hamsters cage once a week and there is litter smell☺️

No smell

I use this bedding because if it's absorbancy. It really does eliminate the smell of urine from the cage. It also fluffs up and gives the hamster something to dig in and move around the cage. My hamster loves to pack her sleeping area with it. It is also not as messy as other bedding. I would highly recommend it.

Softest source I've found!

Kaytee is my go-to bedding for my Syrian hamsters. I like how I can easily spot soiled bedding because of the white color. However, it can really vary on how soft or scratchy it is to the touch. I wasn't expecting much from this shipment, but I was incredibly impressed by how soft it felt! It was easily the softest kaytee clean and cozy I've found, even compared to buying it online or in-store. So happy I bought it here and hopefully it isn't a fluke.

The best bedding for small pets!

Absorbent, white and easy to spot messes, faint to no scent and safe for small animals to consume. The price is fantastic as well!

Some concerns with this product.

First of all and the most important is some small print on the package. “This package contains wood dust a chemical known in the state of California to cause cancer”. This concerns me as I have young children. Next issue was I ordered the 85kg pack and received the smallest pack instead. Was not impressed with that at all although that is probably more of an amazon warehouse error rather than the manufacturer. The product itself is okay - a little bit too dust and too messy for Guineas. It flys around easily and makes a mess. Does not expand like it says on the pack and find the poo just sits on top rather than finding its way down like the long paper we buy from the local pet shop.

A waste of money

wow, needs to be made clearer the size, and explained straight away, in first sentence, as people are busy, and do not have time to read all ok, so, I bought this, as it said 24 litres, thinking it was going to be that size??? So, rather shocked when it arrived, as a tiny bale, it would do one clean out for my guinea....as its for him, as he keeps getting hay in his eyes, I thought this to be more for bedding, I would of used pellet cat litter , the wooden ones, or for chicken coops, as a mass bale, lasts about 6 mths, for 10 quid... I am very disaspointed, and will have to wait to see how good a lot of reviews claim?? BUT I AM GLAD I DID NOT BUY THE LARGER OPTION< And will not be again...

Too dusty for gerbils!

I have never seen bedding this dusty throughout all my years as a gerbil owner. I placed some of the bedding in the plastic cage base and let my gerbils run on this bedding about 10 minutes while I was cleaning the main large gerbilarium. One of the gerbils started sneezing and rubbing her nose constantly. All of them were covered in white fluff. The sides and corners of the gerbilarium were covered in fluff too. It sticks and is hard to get rid of. As I was disposing of the entire bedding, my clothes caught a lot of the dust and I ended up sneezing a few times. I can't imagine letting a pet live in this.

Comfy bedding that keeps my hamster warm!

I really like this bedding - and my hamster does too! She enjoys burrowing in it and making herself a nice little sleeping area in the corner of her large cage, despite having countless different hides and houses to sleep in! The only issue I have with this bedding is the difference between batches. I have purchased the 49.2 litre pack twice from Amazon. Both of these packs came with bedding made of a material almost like shredded paper/tissue paper, with the shreds all being the same width in size. I have also purchased the 85 litre pack twice from Amazon. These packs contained a more fluffy, soft and chunky bedding, with the occasional hard pieces and coloured pieces of bedding. This bedding was more like Carefresh bedding, only with bigger chunks and slightly softer. The difference in the packs is not necessarily an issue, as my hamster loves it either way. It is very convenient to be able to buy Kaytee bedding on Amazon without having to carry a huge pack around the shops! Millie the hamster approves! Does not expand to 3x its volume!

The packaging says that it will expand to 3x its size once opened, which I thought was good as the package was so small for nearly 25 litres. We opened the bag to put in our guinea pig cage and the bedding did not expand and we used nearly the whole bag on one medium sized hutch. Thought it might take time to loosen up but in the morning it was exactly the same. Won't be buying this again, which is a shame as I was hoping it would be soft and warm for our guinea pigs.
