Excellent Clamps, Versatile
Irwin is one of the most common names in the single-hand aka "quick clamp" world and I've owned a few of their clamps for several years to use in various DIY jobs around the home. One of my chief complaints I've always had with the Irwin clamps was that the non-marring pads got loose within just a few uses, so I've always had an issue with grabbing them, starting to clamp something, then having to stop what I was doing to retrace my steps through the yard or house to find where the pads fell off (I'm sure I'm not the only one); the Irwin's also seemed to lose their clamping strength and the trigger torque after about 6 months, but still serviceable for a third hand so long as I didn't need a lot of pressure for anything like glue ups or to keep something from spinning while drilling. I then gravitated to DeWalt clamps simply because my local hardware store was out of Irwins one day, I didn't trust the cheap construction of the store branded clamps and the DeWalt clamps were the only namebrand option; I was cautious at first knowing that hand tools are not necessarily DeWalt's bread and butter, but after 3 yrs of use I can honestly say I've not had the same issues as I had with the Irwin branded clamps. As I've started to first into woodworking, I've found the old adage that "you can't have enough clamps" is indeed true (or extra "hands" in my case this week with a project. I didn't need anything with a lot of clamping power, so was looking for quick clamps and ran across this 4pc bundle under Jorgensen. Again, was optimistically cautious about these clamps, but didn't want to pay the DeWalt price and felt going back to Irwins was a step backwards; I'd read where the "Pony" name was dropped from the Jorgensen branding, and that manufacturing moved overseas to China, which also concerned me. After receiving the clamps, I have to say I'm overly impressed and amazed at their quality. The clamps are very strong and I wouldn't be afriad to use them for glue-ups on smaller projects like puzzle boxes, jewelry boxes, ect. The non-marring pads are well engineered to stay in place, and do not easily slide on and off like Irwin and other brands; instead, they have thick lips that you actually have to work a little to pop them off, and then can pop them back on. The release trigger is also well positioned within the body of the trigger; I was always scraping my knuckle across the release trigger of my Inrwin and DeWalt clamps. These clamps are more versatile the the other brands as well. 1) switching the end around for use as a spreader is simple and tool-free with the press of a button in the clamp's end to release it from the bar, vs having to remove the mechanical stop in the bar as I've seen with other brands. 2) You can attach 2 Jorgensen clamps together to make a longer clamp if needed, as the clamp ends are molded with matching puzzle shapes that securely join 2 clamps together, keeping the use of the united clamps to a single hand - no more trying to line up opposing clamp faces with both hands while juggling the clamps and the work pieces you may be trying to clamp together! This 2nd feature was unexpected, but I can recall over a dozen times I the past 2 years I could have used this feature if only it existed on my Irwin or DeWalt clamps! For anyone on the bubble, I would encourage you to give these clamps a try! For now, Amazon is still showing the 4 PC package priced just 25% more than the cost of the 2pc PKG, so it's a very strong value while supplies.lasts at the current price. I'm actually ordering another set for myself to keep in the garage where they will see frequent use, and sending all the Irwin and DeWalt clamps to the basement and backyard shed for when I'm in a quick pinch for something without scrambling to the garage for a clamp.

Great Price for a Great Clamp
I have been building acoustic guitars for several years now, and have been using luthier's spool clamps to clamp the top and back to the sides. Spool clamps are a PIA to use on an acoustic top or back (almost every clamp is a different height because of the taper of the sides, and you have to arrange them, ahead of time, in height order, all the way around the back/ top. A builder friend uses this type of quick clamp. I bought 16 and tested every one of them. They all work great, exert boo-koo force and are easy to adjust and release. I'm thrilled with these, would recommend them to all my rowdy friends and would buy them again.

Always better than Irwin clamps
Pads don't come lose. They maintain pressure.....they don't beak down. Far superior than Irwin, hands down.

Great addition to use with the Jorgensen "Pony" saw horses
Just what I needed to make the sawhorses even more versatile. The different ways to configure these makes my (usually pretty simple) projects so much easier to cut and build. Wish I had discovered these years ago. Recommended!

Perfect clamps for small projects
I love the size of these clamps for small projects as they fit tight places and are easy to use.

Strong, well made, but lacks clamping pressure
These are durable and well made, and I like that they can be spreaders as well as clamps. That's really why I picked them up, to use a spreaders on my t-track assembly table. They work great for that. What they're not great at is using as clamps - I can't quite get them as tight as I'd prefer. When I squeeze a little too hard, the clutch gives and clamping pressure releases a little bit. I can't get these to squeeze nearly as tight as my old Irwin clamps that look fairly similar.

Wonderful reversible Jaw and a weird release trigger
These clamps are a love-hate thing... As they say, you can never have too many clamps and so when I need to pick up a few more, I decided to try these out since I respect the quality of Jorgensen tools. The good: The pads/surface area of the jaws are generous and the grip coverage is excellent. Build quality is as to be expected with their products. The absolute best part of the clamp is the reversible end jaw and it is a brilliant idea. At the press of a big, easy to reach button, the entire end part of the clamp come off so you can flip it around to make a spreader or invert so that you can use the dovetail socket to hook on another clamp to make it a longer clamp. I love this and think it's an inspired piece of industrial design. Every clamp should have this feature! The Bad: The release trigger is a smallish piece of plastic tucked away between the handle and the compression trigger. This is unlike most other clamps and an odd position. The "clamp culture" has evolved and most of us instinctively reach for the release at a certain position and it's just not there. It's sort of like getting into a car and the gas pedal and brake positions are different than what you're used to. You can adjust, but it's clumsy and counter-intuitive. Why they did this is beyond me and I can't fathom why they made it different form the rest of the world's clamps. To top it off, the material of the release trigger feels flimsy. While I have great faith in Jorgensen quality control, I am suspicious of that trigger. Time will tell. Conclusion: I am glad I bought these, I use them all the time and so far they've been excellent. But I'm hesitant to buy another set as that damn trigger just drives me nuts and when I'm in a fast glue-up scenario, they slow me down. If Jorgensen ever changes that release trigger position to fit in with the rest of the world's speed clamps, they will have a hands-down winner.

Versatile
These are really good... much better than your usual clamps... easy to use... the fact you can join them together or use them as spreaders is really handy and definitely cost effective.... definitely recommend.
