Bought in 2014 & still going strong, A+ customer service & support
I bought one of these bad boys way back in 2014 because we live in an area with REALLY REALLY hard water and and has issues off and on with local water purity. I installed it under our sink myself, using only the instructions and iSpring's very helpful and detailed video tutorials. I even took the system with me and reinstalled it in our second house. The filtered water tastes great and has only served to super power my snobbish-ness around drinking water that tastes great. Only maintenance is picking up replacement filters and while I should switch them out every 6 months, I inevitably wait way longer than that. And the water still tastes great. When I do get around to switching the filters out, it does take some good elbow grease to open the casings. So if you don't have good grip strength then you'll need to enlist someone with muscles or be careful about how tightly you close them in the first install. Fast forward 9 years later--why am I writing a product review now?? A couple days ago the membrane housing started leaking where the hose fits into one of the casings. I email customer service and just I got an email back from customer service that they're sorry I'm having trouble with my system and they're happy to ship me a replacement membrane right away. Wow. What a great product to have ZERO issues in 8 years and what great customer services that even many years after first purchasing their product, they're willing to address my issue on their dime. And just in case it needs to be said, I wasn't incentivized to write this review in any way. No free products, or discounts, or whatever if I write a review. I've just got to give the kudos where they're justly deserved and feel like a review is the best way I can say "thank you" and "keep it up" to a great company making great products.

It was time to upgrade our simple 2-stage water filtration system!
The old Sears 2-stage carbon water filter wasn't good enough. It made the water taste better, but didn't remove the unwanted dissolved solids. We were still buying bottled water, which taste better. It was time to move up to a RO - reverse osmosis water filtration system! ► NOTICE - This product review was originally published on April 17, 2017, but it disappeared so I resubmitted it! The pros: + I happened across a killer deal of $142.78 with free Amazon shipping when I bought this in 2016! + Pretty good customer product reviews. + Excellent customer technical support! My questions were quickly answered via e-mail. + Push together - quick connect fitting with 4-color tubing make the installation very easy! + Advertised - eliminates the need to transport and dispose of bottled water. + Advertised - filters 1,000+ water pollutants including common adversaries chlorine and fluoride. + Advertised - thin-film composite semi-permeable RO membrane filters down to 0.0001 micron (a human hair is approximately 50 microns). + Advertised - the RCC7 has a 75 gallons per day rating. + Advertised - DIY filter installation with written instructions, video & technical support assistance. Fits under sink cabinets. + Advertised - product dimensions - 14.5 x 5.2 x 17.5 inches. + Advertised - item weight - 25 pounds. + Advertised - Water Quality Association (WQA) Gold Seal Certified. + Advertised - 1 year money-back guarantee. + Advertised - lifetime support from iSpring in Alpharetta, GA at (678) 261-7611. The cons: - I needed longer plastic tubing for our installation. The provided 10' lengths were too short. ◄ iSpring will provide longer tubing. - From the installation manual: Water pressure to the unit is no less than 40 psi. If it's below 40 psi, you will need to add a booster pump. If the water pressure is greater than 80 psi, you will need to install a pressure regulator. Our water pressure was above 80 psi, so this added to the system cost. - We didn't care for the provided brushed nickel finished faucet didn't match our fixtures. ◄ iSpring will work with you to provide a faucet that fits your installation. - Water is wasted to produce purified water. The ratio of brine - waste water to RO purified water is 2:1 to 3:1. Meaning 2 to 3 gallons of water is wasted to produce 1 gallon of purified water. ◄ For those that are concerned about wasted water. Also see my waste water recycling notes below. - Advertised - origin, China. ◄ for those that prefer to buy products made in the USA. Our installation: ▪ Our previous Sears filtration system was installed in the garage, so that was the logical place to install this filter system upgrade. This is next to the water heater ► cold water source & next to the washing machine ► a place to run the brine -waste water line. ▪ The purified water storage tank was positioned on its side in our installation, so it would fit on a storage shelf. ▪ I opted to purchase an inexpensive plastic tubing cutter, a PneumaticPlus TC nylon PVC PU plastic tube & hose cutter. Not required, but it cuts the tubing perfectly making the installation proceed faster. Here's the Amazon link:PneumaticPlus TC Nylon PVC PU Plastic Tube & Hose Cutter Cut Up To 3/4" OD (Drip Tubing Cutter) (1) ▪ I also purchased a TSPITOOL quick connect release tool, which is also not required, but does make releasing a connector much easier. In addition, it will set the lock in preparation for the locking clips. Here's the Amazon link:Quick Connect Tubing Release Tools For 1/4" or 3/8" Connectors (TSPITOOL) ▪ It seemed like a waste to toss the old Sears 2-stage filter housing, so I decided to retain it with different filters... sediment prefilters. Stage 1 is 20 micron & stage 2 is 10 micron, both sediment filters. The output of this 2-stage filter connects to iSpring RO - reverse osmosis stage 1, 5 micron sediment filter. ▪ To keep an eye on the system water pressure, I installed a water pressure gauge. This is VERY handy, as the reading drops when purified water is being produced & levels off as the purified water tank is full. After a few cycles, you have the normal readings. ▪ After the water filtration system had been in operation awhile, I started to wonder when the brine - waste water was flowing. My concern was a failed ASOV - automatic shutoff valve failure which could allow constant waste water flow. To provide a visual indication of brine - waste water flow, I installed a Rotameter LZM-15 flow meter. See my attached pictures. This flow meter won't work as it comes, but with a simple modification (see my flow meter product review for details), it will provide a visual indication of when brine - waste water is flowing. Here's the Amazon link:Uxcell a11120300ux0019 1/2" Female Thread 0.2-2.0 GPM 1-7 LPM Water Liquid Inline Flowmeter Rotameter LZM-15 ▪ We can redirect the RO brine - waste water into a recovery container so this perfectly good water can be recycled. During the summer the RO brine - waste water is used to water our raised bed vegetable garden & flower beds. During the winter we use the RO brine - waste water in the washing machine wash cycle. Closing remarks: ▪ Since this RO - reverse osmosis water filtration system was installed, there has been no need to buy distilled or bottled drinking water. ▪ The flow rate from our kitchen mounted faucet, about 15 feet away from the filtration system, is 0.5 gallons (1/2 gallon) per minute. ▪ System startup, first TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) reading: tap - city water = 100 to 98 ppm ► RO - reverse osmosis water = 3 to 4 ppm ▪ You will have to replace the filtration system filters in about a year... the RO membrane can last a 2 to 3 years (depending on the quality of your water source), so it's wise to start shopping around for replacement filters. These can be found reasonably priced, if you don't need them right away & can shop around. I have enough filters on hand for 2+ years. :) ► Update - June 7, 2017 ▪ The RO - reverse osmosis water filtration system has been working perfectly! Since we installed this water filtration, there been no need to purchase bottled water. ▪ On my recent TDS - total dissolved solids test. Tap water = 110 ppm & the RO water = 9 ppm. ▪ The city water... tap water TDS, shown above, is 110 ppm. The RO brine - waste water TDS is about 20 ppm higher. ▪ It's summer, so we're recycling the RO brine - waste water in the raised bed vegetable garden & to water the flower beds. ▪ We have to admit the amount of brine - waste water was a bit shocking, when we started saving it, but that is the nature of the RO - reverse osmosis water filtration system. 2:1 to 3:1... meaning, amount of brine - waste water >to> purified water produced. This isn't too bad if you can recycle the waste water! ▪ The city we live in calculates our sewer billing on the amount of water we use, so it makes sense to recycle the RO brine - waste water! ► Update - October 24, 2019 ▪ The system has been working perfectly, still on the original filter! The TSD has gone up slightly & the brine -waste water is running 3:1 or more, so the system filter replacement is on our to do list! ▪ I added a new picture of our six 5 gallon black buckets we use to save our brine - waste water to be recycled.

Great product from a great company with stellar customer service!
Writing this review after having the RO system in operation for 6 years. It was an easy install originally. I really like the push-lock compression fittings used for the tubing. It made install easy and annual filter servicing simple as well. Rather than trying to change the filters with the system under the sink, I just disconnect the tubing (after taking a good picture so there is no question which color tube goes where) and then take to unit to my utility sink to swap out the filters. The water quality is excellent and I double check the total dissolved solids with a TDS meter to ensure that the RO filter is still functioning to its fullest. We can easily get more than 2 years from an RO cartridge but I swap it at 2 years regardless so I don't have to worry about degradation. We recently developed an issue with making an occasional noise and contacted iSpring to see if they had any thoughts. Mayra replied quickly and asked for a copy of my receipt for warranty validation. I let her know that the system was purchased in 2017 and I wasn't making a warranty claim, I just wanted to see if they had any ideas how I could fix whatever was wrong to eliminate the noise. I provided some additional information and they diagnosed it as a defective automatic shut-off valve and also thought that my well pressure tank might be supplying too much pressure. They immediately shipped a new shut-off valve along with a pressure regulator, all free of charge. This was stellar customer service and the type of customer engagement that makes "customers for life". If you are shopping for an RO system, I had a different brand in a previous house that was more difficult to install and service. When it came time to purchase an RO system for our new house my research indicated that iSpring was an excellent product. After 6 years of ownership I am happy to report that iSpring is also a company committed to great customer service. Thank you Mayra and the iSpring team!
