:-( I did so much research into silica and found on youtube that it can be reconstituted and I finally purchased Amazing Cat Litter because it was 100% silica gel which is the same as plain silica. Three days ago i sent an email to amazing cat litter not mentioning the dark honey color I had after just 13 days and one cat. I asked what the color should look like after the 80 day life ( they claim compared to 30 days of other litter). I did not receive a response and on december 1 sent another with photos of the color. The possible good to this product is that it can be evaporated. I am presently doing that to see if I can reclaim and reuse it. The color has gotten to a very pale yellow and only a hint of nitrogen smell remains. It was delivered on november 11 and i began using it about the 15th and on the 27th it looked on the bottom like dark honey color and on the top only a hint of what was below. I did stir but possibly not enough. The email with the pictures asked if I possibly got a bad batch: Dear Amazing Cat Litter This is my second email to you regarding the litter I purchased at the Amazon website. The email was on November 27, 2015 and I have not heard back from you. I asked about the color at that time. I have decided to send you the photos since they are worth more than a thousand words. Please note the photos are not in any order. Todays date is December 1, 2015 I received my Amazing Cat litter on NOvember 11 and probably used it about november 15 or sooner. Attached are four pictures taken after 13 days of use. 1. screen shot of the delivery date of the litter taken from amazon website 2. litter box on NOvember 27 before taking out litter 3. The empty litter box on November 27 after pouring into a metal pan 4. The litter box contents on NOvember 27 poured into a metal pan. Did I get a bad batch? update April 14, 2016 update on amazing cat litter April 14, 2016 Amazing cat litter batch 2 lasted 17 days longer than batch 1 The first time i used this litter was saturated in about 13 days. second use- 26 days batch 2 lasted double the time, 26 days, but I was not scraping the bottom of the box when I stirred it up. I could tell by what was left in the bottom of the litter box. third use - 43 days batch 2 lasted 43 days - I was using a better stirring technique and more often conclusion: Either it is babe, my little love, getting better since taking the L arginine and d3 for her kidney problem meaning she is urinating a lot less, or I am doing the right type of scraping, or both. I know that babe is drinking less water and I am scraping better. Since she is the only cat in the household, I believe the litter lasting longer is a way of telling that babe's kidney function has improved.

Update: this brand is way better than non crystal cat litters, but I hate it so much I have to come back and drop it to one star. Stirring this creates a giant smelly dustcloud, and I’m throwing it out after a little over a week. Yuck. I’ve been using crystal silica litters for the last couple of years, after trying the brand that ships via a monthly subscription. I love them, but wanted to find a cheaper non subscription required litter, so have been trying various brands over the last months. This brand is my least favorite so far. Pros: There is such a large quantity in the bag, that I probably could have poured only half of it into my large domed box. In a one cat household, I recommend doing just that. It does soak up the urine well, and there is no pee smell whatsoever. Cons: Huge dustcloud when pouring into the box that I was unprepared for. Had me sneezing. None of the other crystals litters I tried had that effect. Largest crystal size. Some litter will always get tracked out, and these aren’t super fun to step on. I use a hand vac around the litter box regularly, but still. Ouch. Does not dehydrate my cats poo the way all the other brands do when used. No coverage whatsoever for poo smells, which is unacceptable after using really great crystal litters for years and being accustomed to zero bad smells. Even though I scoop solids out daily, the smell low key just lingers. Forever. It’s awful. The lingering smell issue is so bad that even though I’ve only had this in use for a week, I’m restocking the brand that I do like (Pet Safe Scoop Free crystals in a two pack) and dumping this. Not sure how long it will absorb urine, because I can’t stand to go any longer. The only reason I gave this brand three stars is that it still works way better than any other non crystal litter I have ever tried. Pet Safe Scoop Free lasts me seven weeks with one cat. Seven long weeks of no bad scents whatsoever from my cat’s litter box. Go with that one.

Dusty but otherwise good
I have been testing 6 different crystal cat litter products for the last 5 months since the Nature's Miracle crystal product is no longer available in my area. I have 2 cats including one who refuses the box if too dirty or objectional litter. I also have multiple chemical sensitivities and have to be careful with most products. I switched to Natures Miacle crystal and loved the product - I was able to go down to one box and minimize the care and cleaning effort. The dehydrating action really minimized odor. My evaluation included these criteria - Price, Odor after use, Tracking, Time needed before litter change, Cat Acceptance, Ease of care - scooping, changing, cleaning box after change. Most performed well on all criteria, except odor control. With crystal litter, I scoop poop daily and change litter weekly. 1. Ultra Micro Crystals Cat Litter, 5 pounds - Highest price per pound but the decisive winner. 2 cats 1 box, 1 5# bag per week. 2. Amazing Cat Litter, 8 pounds - high dust when filling box, good odor control 3. Pet Safe Scoop Free Premium Blue - low price per pound, some tracking 4. Ultra Pearls Cat Litter, 5 pounds - no tracking, 4 days odor coverage 5. Clear Choice Silica Crystals, 8 pounds - did not cover cat box odor at all 6. Fresh Step Crystals, 8 pounds - low price per pound, crystals track everywhere, same issues as non-crystal litters
