Finally an outperforming litter
I have used Tidy Cat, Arm & Hammer, Fresh Step, World's Best Cat Litter among so many others. I have adopted my mother's cat and absolutely hate litter boxes but here I am scooping poop again (1 cat). So far this is by far the best and most affordable litter I have used. Purchased a bag in October, scoop, add and it lasted 5 months with no odor. Just purchased my 2nd bag. Pro's: Controls odor without strong scents or corn smell (World's Best). Lasts a long time, easy to sweep up since you can see it by it's color. Con's: leaves a little brownish dust on kitty paws but that easily comes off. Although it does not clump like clay litter, it does clump. I would say you sift through more litter to get all the little clumps and to ensure the litter is clean of any left over bits. If I head to the garage right after the cat has pooped, it does smell of poop but the cat doesn't really cover it up much which may be the reason. However, when I scoop in the morning and he did his business overnight I do not smell it. I purchased a litter box that has a coating that makes the inside VERY slick so if there is pee along the edge I can just shake or use the scooper to loosen it and it comes right off the wall of the litter box. It also has a lid with a hole he can enter but little holes so as he jumps out it catches some of it and it drops back in. My favorite thing is that this lasts, making it more economical in the long run and less waste entering the trash/landfills. At first it smells like walnut (not too strong) but in time you don't notice the smell. It is really pretty odorless even after kitty has used it (unless he just used it and it's #2). Because it is in the garage it is much easier to sweep up from the floor because you can see the brown litter as compared to others that are white or gray in color. It has not stained the floor or the white litter pan lid. The cat does not bring litter dust into the house and this does not get stuck in his paws like clumping litter did after he scratched it in. He would jump out, shake his paw and leave little clumpy bits behind - not with this litter. Very pleased and will not use anything else now. It is natural, sustainable, creating less waste. I would have to completely dump litter once a week from his box, wash it out and replace. With this, I have not had to do that at all. However I do have to run the scooper through a lot of litter to get all the little bits but worth it when not having to dump so much out into the trash each week. Here is the litter pan and scoop I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0768H1181/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Non Stick Scoop: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09ZDQPLXH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The best litter !
I had 4 kittens & was learning all about how to care for them-they were only a lil over a month old!! Got this litter after realizing that small kittens should start off with pellets first because they can try to consume sandy litter (which they did try to do!) Immediately I came across this litter. This was a more natural & safer option for sure! The 26lb bag is soo big I couldn’t even carry it on my own at first! So worth the price for the quantity!! Also love that it’s all natural!! I feel so good knowing that. Oddly enough I really love the smell of it too lol. It definitely has an earthy aroma like many others mentioned. And it’s very easy to clean up compared to other litter- doesn’t track. It lasts a long time too! As a pregnant woman right now I usually have to end up cleaning my kittens litter boxes.. well I love that it masks the smell pretty good (when my kitties do good covering their poo) and it really does reduce the ammonia ! At first it was a little difficult to clean but then I learned that I just have to scoop out the poop-and if there’s parts that look dark (because of their urine) I scoop that out too. Then I mix the pellets up with the scooper & add a little fresh litter on top. I also scoop out the parts that break down into dirt. Then after almost two weeks you can change the whole thing! (The directions explain that a bit) I ended up giving two of my kittens to my sister once they learned to do things on their own & I sent them with this litter which they are still continuing to use for them. They love it & have never used or seen litter like this! I know it’s just litter but this is amazing litter & I plan on keeping them with this kind of litter & this brand! ***If you have small kittens & they are potty training- go with this one! So worth it & brings some peace of mind knowing it’s all from nature..

honest (no drama) review - I have two persian cats
Tracking: I adopted two cats and had no idea how much litter tracked. I have yet to find one that doesn't. I don't feel a zero tracking litter is even possible. I tried pine pellets, but one of my cats is declawed (by previous owner) and I found he was willing to use the other two boxes where I had a sawdust-type litter and this walnut litter. I noticed he preferred the walnut litter and stopped using the other two completely. Same goes for my second cat. The pine pellets were large and I'd find a few outside of the litter box but never found them in my bed. I've found that if I keep the bottom of my cats paws scissored (they have very long hairy paws) they track less. I can't get either of them to use a top entry box. That would definately help. This stuff tracks and tracks and tracks. I find it everywhere. But I've found that to be true with all other litters so I remind myself that this is safe for them, sustainable, and compostable so it will remain my first choice. Dust: I've used so many different litters over my lifetime. They are all dusty. All of them. I don't find it "covers" anything anymore than regular 'ol dust in my house. I give everything a quick swipe every couple of days in the bathroom and move on with my life. No dust drama. The reviews that describe staining...it's not staining - its dust. If you have a cat with white or light-colored paws you will see the earthy brown dust on their paws after they visit the loo. But they walk it off, rub it on your pillow, or clean it off themselves. Consider that it is a SAFE dust for them to consume and that is all you really need to know. My kitty with white paws has OCD so I only notice it occasionally to never. He hasn't ever been stained by the walnut litter. I do find this litter to be very dusty in one bag and then not so much in another. It's a natural product so that has to be expected. It wasn't created in a lab and won't be perfectly the same every time. Odor: My declawed kitty does not cover his poo so it's "smelly" with any litter I use. Scoop the poo right away people. Right away. Don't leave it in the box. Crack a window if you can. Problem solved. For the record my other cat covers her poo and it does a decent job. If your cats poo is that offensive then its the food or a GI issue and not the litter. Just sayin. As for the litter itself, it has an earthy scent that I actually kind of like and it is SAFE for my cats. As for urine odor, if it's extremely offensive then its diet or dehydration or both. Research this and make sure your cat's urine is what it should be and it won't smell. Easiest thing to do is to scoop the box. Problem solved. I've had friends tell me they would not even know I have cats if I didn't tell them but they do smell my spaniel dog when she is due for a bath. Can't win 'em all. Clumping: I think it clumps quite well but have noticed that you need a deep layer for it to clump extremely well. I don't use a deep layer because I like to wash the boxes and completely switch out the litter every one to two weeks and don't want to waste too much. I tilt the box to scrape the clump from the bottom of the box. I scoop boxes outdoors to reduce airborne dust and odors indoors. This is done right next to my pet waste compost bin so scraping the bottom of the box isn't an issue. I'd rather have fresh litter and scrape the bottom of the box then a thick layer of smelly used litter and waste a ton when I have to toss it. If your cat(s) don't mind 2-3 inches of litter and you don't mind wasting money throwing it all out, then yes it will clump very well for you. The best clumping litter I have ever used was a new one a celebrity cat guy endorses. I had to stop using it because it formed cement-like balls on the bums of my persians. But seriously it clumped like cement. I also reviewed it. Sustainability and disposal: I lumped these together because it is so important! Its crushed walnut shells. Renewable and doesn't do any harm at all. It could only be better if it were from organic farming/harvesting methods. Which is why I didn't give it five stars. Its entirely compostable. I compost our litter, cat poo and dog poo. Yes this is safe to do and recommended by the USDA. Do your own research on composting. Our pet waste never goes in landfills. Longhaired cats: It sticks to them. It sticks to their bums. It sticks to their paws. It gets in their coats. I find that I can pick it out or brush it out. It does bother me. I like a clean house and finding this stuff everywhere is really uncool. They can't help it. So I remind myself that I am so grateful that they actually use the box in the first place and get over myself. I plan to get a robot vac to assist my overworked broom. If you have shorthair cats you may not even notice or be too chill to care. I plan to try the pelleted version of this litter next but I expect my declawed cat will not use it. I may put the pelleted version in the box upstairs so that I may find less of it in my bed. Only one of my cats uses that box so it would be okay to put the pellets here. I love this litter. I would love for it to track less and to be less dusty but its other attributes outweigh those minor inconvenieces so I will continue to use this litter until something better comes along. It's a great litter that keeps my cats safe, they will actually use it, and it alligns with my evironmental moral compass. 4 stars now but if they made it organic I'd give it 5.

NEVER going back to clay litter!
I could never find a clay litter brand that prevented smell, didn't make nasty clouds of dust when I cleaned it, and didn't leave little clay streaks when my cat tracked it around -- but this litter is better than I ever could have hoped. I tell every cat owner I meet to try this stuff. I introduced it by filling a cheap backup litterbox, which I set next to the clay litterbox. My cat loved this walnut litter's sand-like texture and preferred this one right away. - Even when it is full, it smells nutty and not gross - Some minor tracking (can't be fully prevented) but it's not as bad as other litters we've tried - Good value for the amount you get - PLUS this is better for the planet and your/your cat's respiratory health! - Clumps well (sometimes clumps are not as hard as clay litter) - Sometimes my cat's white paws are a little brown right after she uses it but it goes away fast lol

Not worth the money
I switched form clay litter due to the fact my cat was tracking it all through the house, paper pellets were to smelly so I tried this for about 3 months bwcuase its a natural cat litter but it's overpriced for what you get, you can get a 40lb bag of wood pellets for $6 at Canadian tire that work better at controlling the smell

Best Litter
for someone with asthma, this is the best I've ever used. can't say enough about it, absolutely love it. NO DUST, pleasant smell and the colour is not an issue. Very absorbent and doesn't stick to sides/bottom of pan.

Good litter but buyer beware lol
Love how this clumps without the nasty smell you get from clay litter. Both my cats use this litter without issues and it vacuums up really well (tile and laminate floors). Down side.. this litter gets EVERYWHERE in the house. Places I didn't even think the cats went - litter. It's really light weight when it hasn't gotten to the point of clumping so it goes wherever the cats ever think about going. I've been using silica for so long I forgot about the issues other litter can cause. Clogged my drain cleaning the litter box out (my own fault but haven't had this issue with other kinds) even though I had the drain plug in - 0/10 experience. Much harder to clean the box compared to silica. I'll probably get it again as it's January and I've had this since October or November so even though it expensive, its well worth it given the time it lasts.

Amazing. The best one I’ve found.
I absolutely LOVE this litter. I’ve ordered it repeatedly. It may be a bit more $$ Than others but I want nothing but the best for my kitty. It smells like heaven, too! It clumps immediately and masks odour fine! It has lasted me about 2.5 months. I will never go back to arm & hammer, or other toxic ones. I put a little mat to catch pieces as my cat goes out. 100% recommend and so grateful there’s a company out there that thought of this. ????
