One small issue from getting 5 stars
This doorbell is actually pretty loud when installed and the cover put on it. I was pleasantly surprised. The problem is when the cover is put on the unit, you are able to see the plastic supports thru the cutouts. Why they couldn't make the cutouts smaller or move the supports so it is not seen is an issue for me. If not for that I would have given it 5 stars.

Quickly replaced an old Friedland Type 4 NOM-ANCE doorbell
I had an old corroded Friedland Type 4 NOM-ANCE doorbell. It was very easy to replace using this model, it had the exact same size and wall mounting points.

Cheaper battery powered wired option
I was replacing a totally non-working doorbell because there was no wire for power. There was a wire for the doorbell outside, but not one to power the doorbell. I was very disappointed. So I went looking for a doorbell that was battery powered for wired doorbells. There is not a lot of choice. This was one of the few affordable options, because I was not going to run a wire to power this stupid thing. There are some annoying bad parts. That being these require 4 C batteries. The other bad part that I think someone else had mentioned, the contacts for the batteries are flimsy. They don't really hold the batteries in place.... that's what duct tape is for my friends. I replaced the old one over the door with this new one over the door and hope the batteries don't pop out and kill someone. Why 5 stars? I get a ding-dong, which is all I wanted and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Just what I needed for a wired button without power available
The reviews were accurate and helpful. As stated by others if you don't want to run the batteries down too soon, be sure to get a button without a light or do as I did and take the button available at Home Depot and open it up and take out the light/LED.

It's working right now.
I use it with an amplifier. The microphone is taped to the bell so it picks up the sound. I like the freedom from the mains electricity AND I needed the reliability of a solid wired doorbell. I always keep a tube of indoor/outdoor adhesive so I put plenty of Shoe Goo where the battery contacts clip onto the plastic case. It works fine in an 800 square foot house.

Volume is too low to be a practical door bell
It works and has a nice traditional chiming sound, but volume is fixed and it is much too quiet to be a recommend product - ie. I installed it in my kitchen, but can barely hear it in from the next room. I am running it off 6C Cell batteries.

Neat looking, confusing instructions.
Pros: It has a neat looking, and works as expected. Cons: the instructions of installation on the package are not clear. The chart of how to wire is confusing. It took me a while to figure out how to wire correctly. The delivery was slow. It arrived about 1 week after the promised delivery date, probably because it was the Thanksgiving week.

Set up was easy, works perfectly
Set up was easy, works perfectly, no problems whatsoever. The only improvement that I would recommend would be that an access hole in the cover be provided for running the wire into it so that it could lay flat against the wall. The access hole in the back is fine if the wire leading into it comes out of a hole in the wall, but not so great if the wire comes through a window or a doorway and runs down the wall to it, like us amateurs are more apt to do.

Well priced, easy to install.
Great price, easy to install, works well with camera doorbell. Chime does have a higher pitch and is a little quieter than the one it replaced, but it works.

Perfect if you need something basic!
I've struggled finding a simple door chime. These days, you've only two options: battery-powered (wireless) or transformer-powered (wired). But what if you want a battery-powered door chime on a wired doorbell without spending $50+ CAD on something basic? This is the answer! If you've owned a Honeywell (Friedland) Festival D3126, this is the more recent version of that model. Trust me, I've researched every angle, searching for a duplicate - an exact replacement. So if you're trying to find something of the exact same size and orientation on the wall, your search is over. Pros: - Very basic. Very simple. Instructions are straight forward. It's affordable. - Runs with either a transformer, or four C batteries. - Has the option of doorbells for two doors (front door and/or back door). Cons: - Only goes "ding-dooonnnnnggg!" unless you have a back door, then I imagine, it'd go, "diiiiiinnnnnggg!" I don't have a back door. This is a con if you're someone who'd like their button to play a fancy tune. - It's a little quiet, since televisions can run a deafening volume now, but honestly, if you drop by unannounced, you should've called first.

Simple solution that works, sort of...
Product works as intended, but does not work for my application. My home has a Geeni doorbell camera and while the camera works I cannot find a door chime that will work with the limited current the Geeni doorbell provides. This battery powered unit does not "ding" normally even when on batteries but its not the bells fault. On a normal doorbell switch it works fine. Buy if you need a simple replacement bell or you don't have a powered doorbell system. Do not buy to try and solve an issue with your door bell camera.

8-16V AC or 6V DC
I use this with a 6V DC power supply. It pulls just under 2A max, with the single-tone button held. Full input voltage across the button terminals. The single-tone chime gets muted if you hold the button, severely reducing the volume. The double-tone chime works well.
