There’s ONE really good feature of this lock!

This Honeywell deadbolt is NOT a smart lock so you can’t use Alexa or open the door with your phone. You walk up, punch in your code and it unlocks. That’s about it. After using many like this including fancy smart locks, the stand out feature of THIS Honeywell is, without question, the SUPER LONG BATTERY LIFE! On my first one the batteries lasted like 3 years! I’ve had the second one for 6 mos and still going! Seems the same as my 1st one but this one seems faster and quieter!???? My $200 smart lock has about 2 month battery life! It’s cool on features but swapping batteries gets old! Might be less than 2 mos…not sure. I’m ready to give up the smart features and only use this one. Never (figuratively) having to change batteries makes this a superstar! One negative is it said keyable to my Kwikset standard lock but it was not! Don’t care too much about that. Would and will buy this item again.

It Should Not Have Been So Difficult

First, I love this lock. I've had a different brand on another house, but I wanted to try the Honeywell. The price was great, and the lock itself looks good. The problem we had is that attaching the control wire to the wire connector. It was almost impossible to get the stupid thing connected. I was to the point of removing the entire unit from the door and sending it back. My husband finally got it connected, and the lock works now.... We hope that the connection is secure.

Hard to figure out

The door lock was perfect color and matched everything that I had in the house already is a little more expensive than I wanted to pay. It works good once we finally figured it out it took almost 3 hours to figure it out first the lock was opposite when you said lock, it was unlocking figured that out then the bolt for the deadbolt was it coming out all the way finally figured that out. It works great now it just took a long time to install correctly.

Convenient

Second one. First one lasted 2.5 years but started nor recognizing numbers hit. Lock is so convenient so you don't have to carry keys.

A 67 YEAR OLD CAN INSTALL THIS!

I had HoneyWell Door Locks on my old house and loved them, so when I needed ones on my new Home there wasn't a 2nd thought. I had to have them installed by a Handyman at my old home because I didn't think I could do it myself, and it was very expensive! I checked around for the best price, and now I was looking for the ease of installation! Thank goodness for Amazon Warehouse! I didn't think I could afford more than 1 even though I needed 2, but the price on Amazon Warehouse was perfect! Now the fun part, can I install it myself? I reviewed several other Locks that had Videos of the installation and thought there was no way I could do this alone! Then I reviewed the Honeywell video. I thought I can do this, and if not I can trust Amazon to help me or I will return it with no problems! I'm glad to say after going over the video from Honeywell several times, what can I say I'm old :) , I DID IT! FYI ABOUUT THE VIDEO: I had some difficulties until I realized the Lock the video is about is not exactly the same as mine, but be patient the parts are all there just not in the exact spot as the video shows. I feel very safe now in my Home, I purchased 2 and can't wait to get the perfect day, when its warmer out :), to put the 2nd 1 in! I shared my experience with my sister who also purchased 1 and will be helping her put hers in this weekend! I live in a Senior community and can't wait to show off my new door locks to my neighbors who are my age, and assure them that they can do it, if I can!

Right hand install (or if it’s reversed)

On the install, if you have a right facing deadbolt it will unlock when you press lock. So it’s one button unlocking without a code. When you install there is a small switch on the circuit board (opposite of the batteries). Flick that switch and it will change it to lock when the lock button is pressed. Took me a while to figure that out as it was not in the instructions clearly. Seems like a decent lock. I have it on my entry through the garage door so it’s protected from elements and not the main security point. I would spend more for my main entry but for what it is, seems to work okay. I will update if there are any major changes but honestly wanted to just comment about the install to save someone some time and headache.

Failed in less than six months

Product worked fine for first few months, now it won’t stay locked, it moves the dead the bolt to lock, and then back again. I tried all of the trouble shooting steps, including new batteries, factory reset. Honeywell customer support does not answer, you leave a message, they never call back. You email, they don’t respond. Although in warranty I am stuck with a defective product. Update, Amazon directly helped resolve issue, same comments apply to honeywell.

great keypad deadbolt

This is my first keypad deadbolt i've purchased and installed. I used it for my rental unit and decided to buy one for my backdoor because it was so good. Easy install and quick to setup. I've had it for 2-3 months now and everything is working great.

Easy to install, Don’t think I’ll ever go back to a normal lock again. Just make sure to read the manual for setting and erasing codes plus which code does what. The quality is great and it looks nice when on the door.

Easy set up

Installation was relatively easy. Programming it was easy, too. A couple of times we’ve come home and entered the code and it wouldn’t unlock. Had to do it two or three times before it worked. Not sure why that happened and we did make it work after a few tries. Really love not having to use a key each time we come in or go out!
