Not quite long enough.

I was very pleased with the color and fabric but I wanted to eliminate using a dust ruffle . It was not quite big enough. I did not see a California king in this or I would certainly have reordered. Maybe the company should consider making it in a California king. I did not open the package but used a tape measure to see how it would fit.

Gorgeous blue perfect weight

The only thing I wasn’t happy it’s not King size. It’s shorter on the side than I expected it to be. The only reason I wanted a king size was to have it touching floor on sides and foot. I washed it before I put it on bed it may have shrunk, which makes it worse as I wash all bed linens before use. Thought you’d like to know before you buy. It’s perfect weight and money value as well as color blue perfect. Visiting Charleston staying in an Inn who used only Charleston King Charles linen sold me on these gorgeous comfortable linens.

Edit to my edit: I contacted Amazon about the spread shrinking & they were awesome! They sent me a new spread along with a shipping label to ship the original spread back, free of charge. I received the new spread before they received the one I returned. I couldn’t have asked for more. At least now I know to line dry it the next time it needs to be washed. I’m thrilled with this spread & more thrilled with Amazon’s customer service. Edit: When I wrote this review I had just gotten it & hadn’t washed it yet. I had to wash it this morning because my grandson got chocolate on it & did exactly as the instructions stated. It shrunk so much that I’m not sure it would fit a queen bed now. I’m not sure what to do because I spent so much money on the shams, regular & euro, as well as decorative pillows that I hate to buy a new spread & start over. Or do I buy this again & when I wash it hang it to dry. This spread is kind of colonial looking, not the look I was going for. But, I positively love it & don’t want to return. I’ll find a way to decorate my room so it doesn’t look quite so colonial. It’s just so pretty especially with the shams & decorative pillow. None of those things come with it. I purchased them all separately. It’s well made & very heavy. I take my spread off every night because of 2 little dogs who think the bed is theirs & they just let us sleep with them. But, if you can leave your spread on, it will definitely keep you warm. You may only need 1 additional blanket in the winter. The only thing I’m not too crazy about is even though it’s a king it’s not long enough on the sides. I could use a bed skirt, but honestly I hate them. I’ll live with being able to see under the bed. I added a picture so you can see for yourself. I just bought it & haven’t washed it yet. If I have an issue, I’ll edit my review. I gave it one star for light weight because it’s most definitely not light.

Excellent light weight blanket for King Bed

We love the weight of this summer blanket for our king bed. As a coverlet, it is too short to serve as a bedspead - it only covers the bed - no extra for covering the pillows. Requires shams. A little under-adorned for a coverlet as well - the embellishments are only on the border. But as a lightweight blanket, it is perfect!

Color and appearance are perfect!

I purchased this comforter for our guest bedroom and it is absolutely beautiful. I'm so pleased with the color and overall appearance. It's simply lovely!

Historic Charleston Bedspread Quality

The first one I ordered shrunk drastically. I ordered another and sent the first back. It is the right color for my bedroom, so I wanted the same one. The second one shrunk a little, but not like the first one. I washed them both according to the directions. I liked the fabric in the first one the best, but will keep the second one because of the color. It is a little short for the length of the bed, but the throw pillows cover that up for the most part. It will do for my summer bedspread and is nice and light.

Beautiful coverlet!

I love the warm ivory color and the weight is perfect for an all season spread. It drops nicely on the sides and bottom to overlap the bedskirt. What I wad disappointed in was the fact that it was not long enough to fold over my pillows. As received, the coverlet came to the top of the bed, in a single layer, under the pillows. My solution....... I returned the two matching shams that I had ordered and ordered another comforter. I cut the needed amount and extended the spread to fold up and over my bed pillows with a French seam and then used the rest of the spread to make the matching shams. Yes, it was a little more expensive to do it this way and yes, you need some sewing skills, but now I've got a bedspread that I really love and I've been looking for the perfect one for years!

Perfect weight for Southern winters

While on vacation in Charleston, SC we actually looked at this bedspread on display at the City Market. We bought one in white and paid way more money!! This is the exact one available downtown through the Historic Society store. I bought a King for my Queen bed so I had more drape. It is a perfect weight for us all winter. I highly recommend this item.
