10 Years old and still works great
I've had this weighted vest for ten years now and I really enjoy it. I am not a fitness gym type person - I don't regularly spend time in a gym or lift weights. I wanted something to add to my walking routine to build some resistance. This vest is excellent - it evenly distributes the weight and you can add weight to it, or take weight out of it. the sizing is really good (I'm like a 10/12 pants but closer to an XL for the bust area). I hang it on a strong, think plastic or wooden hanger. I can do work around the house and wear it at the same time. This is the time of year where I realize I've put a little too much padding on with the winter chill and this vest helps me get back into shape. And I don't need a replacement even after 10 years this Feb, 2022.

Functional but not pretty
If you are looking for a less expensive, functional weighted walking vest, this one will do. As with most "one size fits all" items, it doesn't really. On me, a 5'1" woman, the top part of it is too large. At first it felt like it was slipping off my shoulder, but I got used to it. The velcro waist straps aren't actually at my waist - more like over my belly. The vest has 22 interior pockets for the 22 weight sacks - 11 on the front and 11 on the back. The pockets are made of that stretchy, rubbery material that is often used for canned drink insulation sleeves. Each pocket has a slit that runs crosswise in the middle of the pocket. That is how the weight pouches can be removed. If you did that a lot, I would think eventually that slit would rip, because you have to stretch it quite a bit to get the weight pouches in and out. Each weight pouch contains what is described as metal shot. It looks like dirty sand. The sandy stuff is first sealed into black plastic. Then that was sewn into a synthetic fabric pouch. The sewing on the fabric pouches was very sloppy. I decided to remove the fabric - it just seemed to make it more difficult to get the weight sacks in and out of the vest pockets. A few of the plastic pouches weren't completely sealed, allowing the sandy material to leak out. This was easily remedied with some duct tape. I only wear my vest at home, indoors, on my treadmill and elliptical, so the look of it wasn't a big deal. As I believe someone else mentioned, it looks something like a bullet-proof vest. I think I would feel silly wearing mine outdoors, especially since it is rather ill-fitting. In summary, this vest gives me the extra 10 pounds to wear on the treadmill and elliptical, but it's not pretty and it's definitely the economy version of one of these things.

Comfortable workout... 7 years later and still performing well
I was very pleased with the prompt delivery. This vest is comfortable to wear and gives me a nice work out. I like the extra weight for the light resistance and gentle "impact" it provides to build muscle and bone strength. I even bike ride with the vest. I've had mine over 2 years, and it is finally showing some age ...slight gives and tears in fabric, but hey, I've put it through the ringer...use it 3 to 4x a week. I never did use the water bottle attachment though. Too floppy. UPDATE: So my first review was 7 years ago. I bought another vest because I finally am seeing some wear on the Velcro straps on my first vest. It is still usable, but over time, it has gotten dirty and I figured just get another one. I still bike with it but I am also power-walking up hills with it. I love that the weights are dispersed on the back and front because then you don't have an uneven pull just on your back and risk injury. This vest is solidly made - the stitches in my older vest never tore (although the fabric thinned creating small holes where the weights constantly rubbed during the work outs - but after 7 years of excessive use - that's nothing!). My new vest is black. At first I thought I'd be disappointed because black holds in heat vs the grey, but then it also won't show dirt as much either. This vest is only $5 more than when I bought it 7 years ago. This company puts out reliable product that reflects highly on their standards and excellent design.

Just what I needed
I bought this to augment my modest exercise regimen (walking, hand weights, resistance training) and after a month, have been very pleased with it. It's comfortable for me (I am 5'4", middle-aged female, and medium build) and it also provides some lower back support when worn snugly. I definitely notice that my legs and lungs are working harder. It appears to be well-made and I am glad it is washable, but I have not tried to wash it yet. It might not be appropriate for running or jogging, but I wore it while mowing the lawn and it did not affect range of motion in my arms. Though I snickered at the removable bottle holder at first, I find it convenient, but prefer to wear it in the front (just enough velcro on the straps to support it) rather than on the back. My only quibbles with this product are minor: At first glance,it does look a little like a flak jacket or bulletproof vest (I've attracted some long looks from local policemen that made me a little paranoid). The color (utilitarian light silvery-gray, reminiscent of duct tape) doesn't do much to reduce this unfortunate resemblance, though I'm not sure what color they could have chosen that would be better (hot pink? plaid?)--at least it's not a dark color. I may add some reflective tape or something to make it look a little more innocuous. Overall, a very good product that I would recommend to fitness walkers. I would have given it 4 1/2 stars if I had the option.
