Finitura in acciaio inossidabile. Solo per uso interno.

Cute, Compact, needs to be cleaned out daily
I spent a lot of time comparing various composting buckets and went along with this one because it was the only one that had the internal bucket that comes out. I like the idea of the outer bucket not suffering any banging and wear from the daily trek out to the compost heap and the tapping of the bucket on the side to get everything out, which always results in a warped can and the lid never fits quite right. The internal bucket eliminates that and because it's plastic, it doesn't warp as easily as the metal buckets i have had in the past. The major flaws of this bucket however are the flimsy handles on the inner plaster bucket. Obviously was not tested to see if the design worked! It really is just a hole on each side with a piece of wire for the handle that stick into the hole curving into the hole with a couple of mm extending out to catch the bucket into place. The wire pops out of the holes all the time. The trick with it is that you have to take out the compost every day. If you are someone who waits for the bucket to fill up, then reaches in for the little dainty wire handle, you can bet that about 10 steps out the door the handles will pop out from the weight of the contents and you will have compostables all over your kitchen floor. If the bucket is only half full, the handles stay in place. I think during the winter when it gets really cold and i have more time to fiddle with it, i will rig up something so that the handles don't slip but for now, taking more frequent trips to the compost pile is fine for me. Besides having the inner bucket, another thing that is great is the lid. It has a wonderful seal around it to ensure a good seal that not even the most crafty of fruit flies can get in. I read in one review that the plastic bucket retains smells. I have not found that but i also compost daily so things are not rotting and stinking up the plastic container. The plastic bucket also get a nice rinse with vinegar and water after each use and it's still white and not smelly. Overall, this bucket is great with a very easy flaw of the handles that is fixable. Great value for the price.

Nice addition for a Compost Container on the kitchen counter!
Not sure this one actually holds a full gallon of liquid, but then again, compost shouldn't be a liquid! Works fine on the Kitchen sink, and the lid has a silicon rubber gasket to squelch odor when placed firmly on the container. Some folks have griped about the lid gasket being loose, but that also means it's easily removable for cleaning and can be easily guided back into the rolled edge on the lid. With use the riveted handles become a little loose, wiggling but not breaking free. The plastic "bucket liner" is a great idea, although it does stain, and the wire handle can break off the bucket if handled roughly. This certainly isn't a "gadget" similar to the old style outside, in ground garbage pails, and it certainly isn't for high volume compost collection! But for average family kitchen use, it's attractive and works just fine! [We liked our first one enough to buy a second one for a friend!]

Good buy
I like this unit a lot. I rated it a 4 star simply because it is light duty. I live in a home built back in the 40's when kitchen cabinets hang much lower to the counters therefor the is not enough space to place this compost bucket on the counter. I keep it in the sink which will eventually cause it to rust. I assume that in a year or two, I will need to repaint the lower section to keep it water resistant. The lid is quite nice and the silicon ring (seal) seems to be quality but only time will tell. The inner bucket has a nice folding wire handle that tucks nice and flat when closed properly. The handle has to laid to one side only as there is a notch in the plastic liner's rim. If you try to lay the handle flat to the wrong side, it will not lay flat and the metal lid will not seal properly. This is not a problem and simply poor designing. All in all, this is a really nice pail and I would buy again.

Seals in odors, no carbon filters to worry about.
The lid doesn't fit that tight. It is easy to pull off with one hand while prepping veggies and fruits, so that is nice. It seals tight enough to prevent odors from escaping, but if you knock it over, the top will come off pretty easily. I like how the top does indeed seal, and you don't have to worry about buying carbon filters. The inner bucket handle lies flat inside, but once when the bucket was full of water and soggy compost scraps, the handle popped off the bucket and the slop fell down all over my porch. Lesson learned, the inner bucket is not that sturdy, so don't carry by the handle if it is heavy. The outer container is sturdy, on the other hand. So you are safe carrying that by the handles. It is cute, and can sit out and blend into your kitchen decor.

Looks nice, but faulty gasket
This kitchen compost bucket just arrived and I'm torn whether to send it back. On one hand, it goes well in our kitchen - it's the right size and color (stainless) for becoming part of our "visible kitchen." On the other hand, the gasket - crucial to locking in the smells of scraps intended for the compost pile - falls off the lid every time I open it. It would be an easy 5 stars if the gasket stayed in place. I'm at 3 stars now, but it's only day 2. If hints of rotting banana peel, potato skins, and coffer grounds start swirling around the kitchen because household members have given up trying to put the gasket back on, I might have to drop it down to a 2 or 1.

Internal handle is always coming off - too flimsy
This bucket looks the business and sits nicely on my kitchen countertop. It has a decent capacity but the thing that drives me mad is that it comes with a metal handle that has two tiny pieces at either end that fit into the holes of the inner bucket. These end pieces are far too short and I have lost count of the times when I have lifted the inner out of the bucket only to have the handle come off and the contents spill all over the floor. Unfortunately you can't do anything about it - a bit of a design flaw. I had to send the first one back as the inner handle was fitted in the wrong place so that the lid didn't fit properly. I would have expected a higher quality product for the price.

Looks good, but......
The bin is a good looking item and is the right size, even for a busy household. Nice to have a removable and easily washable interior bin. But it started going rusty very quickly and is now almost unusable as it leaves rust rings on the countertop and on cloths used to dry it. The seal works well but needs to be taken off regularly for cleaning and then is very difficult to get back on again.

It's OK but has gone rusty
I've has this about 3 months and it is pretty good. It has a nice bucket inside that you can pull out and wash. However it has gone rusty where the handle is connected to the lid, remains to be seen if the handle will remain attached. Update: the seal ring has now come off the lid with usage and so it is no longer air tight

kitchen compost bin
Love the look of this bin, and the seal is excellent keeping all "nasty niffs" at bay. My only criticism is that after only a few weeks, the rivets holding the handle on the lid have started to rust!

Richie not happy
I was expecting a much larger bin in a green ceramic type finish with the word compost on it instead of the small stainless steel bin i received
