Clips hold 3 gallon bags in place

I hope this addresses the mystery of how the little green clips are to be used and how to keep the right size bags in place. I bought "UNNI ASTM D6400 100% Compostable Trash Bags, 3 Gallon, 11.35 Liter, 100 Count, Extra Thick 0.71 Mils" and would not recommend otherwise. These bags just fit, and anything smaller would I think be useless. The clips pop onto the bottom of the handle assembly at the joint, and fit best when holding a bag. See photos. I hope this helps.

Knat problem

Lid does not seal tight so knats get into unit and live. The lid should be heavier construction. Odors do not seem to be a problem. Volume is fine for two person household. May use flying insect spray to control knats or add weight to lid.

No Smell Compost

We have had this for almost a year and it is perfect. We have replaced the filter a couple times and this is the best. Store it under the sink. No bugs, no smell, no mold. It has been the best!

Nice size, light weight yet sturdy

Glad I have this along with eco bags to line it, especially for refrigerator clean outs. My husband doesn't want to compost in our house so I use it for those special occasions and take to the compost center.

Too deep to hold 2.6 gallon compost bags

I really wanted a larger compost bin and this is a good one if you don’t use compost bags. It’s too deep to hold the2.6 gallon compost bags

Wouldn't recommend

It's extremely thin cheap plastic especially for the price. There's pieces that hold the handle on that easily and frequently fall off. The top part that holds the "carbon" filter is very flimsy and you have to snap it in place. I see that breaking if you try to change the filter which then leaves a gaping hole in the top. We don't compost in the kitchen, we just use it as a receptacle to take to the outdoor compost bin so we'll probably just never change the filter.

Works well to stop the smell

I have this on one side of my kitchen sink. I never smell anything coming from it, even when the food inside has become disgusting. Apparently, even the ants can't smell anything from them since I had an ant invasion. They went after the empty cat food cans, but did not go near this thing even though there was food inside. The only thing I don't like is it is not insect proof. Apparently, gnats can get thru the space where the filter slides in. Yesterday, I opened it find a swarm of gnats and eggs. Yuck. I'm going to tape that space closed to hopefully keep them from getting in again.

Works Great

This is just what I was looking for. The last pail I had was too small this one is just right I also bought the biodegradable bags and we love it.
