Disappointing Experience
My experience with the Exaco Trading Company Exaco Mr.Spin Compost Tumbler was exceedingly disappointing. Despite being marketed as a high-quality dual-chamber composter, the product fell short of my expectations and proved to be a flimsy and inadequately designed piece of equipment. One of the major challenges I encountered was the arduous assembly process. The instructions were poorly written and unclear, and the individual pieces did not fit together properly. Despite investing several hours in putting the tumbler together, it remained unstable and wobbly. In addition, the dual-chamber design was not as spacious as advertised, and the compartments quickly filled up with only a minimal amount of compost. Rotating the chambers required significant effort, and the stand was insufficiently designed, offering little support for the tumbler. What's more, the tumbler was not at all durable, as the plastic material was brittle and prone to cracking. Within a few weeks of use, the tumbler started to fall apart, and I had no choice but to discard it. Overall, I would not recommend the Exaco Trading Company Exaco Mr.Spin Compost Tumbler to anyone. It proved to be a waste of both my money and time, and I deeply regret having purchased it. To save yourself from similar frustration, I recommend investing in a better quality composter. When selecting a compost tumbler, there are several parameters to consider to ensure that it is the best fit for your needs. Here are some key parameters to consider: 1. Capacity: Choose a compost tumbler that has a capacity that is appropriate for your needs. Consider how much waste you generate and how much compost you need to create. 2. Size: Consider the size of the tumbler and whether it will fit in the space you have available. Also, consider the ease of use and whether it is portable or stationary. 3. Material: Choose a compost tumbler that is made of durable and sturdy materials that can withstand outdoor weather conditions. Common materials include plastic, metal, and wood. 4. Aeration: The composting process requires oxygen to break down organic materials. A good compost tumbler should have good aeration to ensure that the composting process is efficient. 5. Rotation: Choose a tumbler that is easy to rotate to mix the compost and aerate it. 6. Drainage: A good compost tumbler should have drainage holes to allow excess moisture to drain out. 7. Insulation: Insulation can help regulate the temperature inside the tumbler, which is important for efficient composting. 8. Price: Consider your budget and choose a compost tumbler that provides good value for the price. 9. Overall, the best compost tumbler will depend on your specific needs and preferences, but these parameters can help you make an informed decision.

Parts problem
Let's say two and a half stars, more or less. Overall, I suppose the product is decent, and once assembled seems to function as advertised So far anyway. Be prepared to install about 50 small bolts/nuts to attach the eight individual tumbler panels to each other in order to create the tumbler barrel. These are quite small bolts and the manufacturer suggests using a Philips screwdriver and an adjustable wrench to hold the nuts while tightening. I suggest using the screwdriver, yes, but you'll be much better served securing the bolts with either a small socket or a nut driver as the crowded confines inside the tumbler are hand-space-restrictive, making an adjustable wrench very difficult to use, especially if you don't have small hands. You'll see. Now, the big surprise for me: my six-piece steel tube composter stand is impossible to assemble as instructed. I'm assuming that somehow the B2 and B3 parts selection was mis-packed or mis-manufactured because after a half hour trying every conceivable set of combinations, the stand would not assemble as it easily should have in only a couple minutes. The holes that accept the spring clip buttons were on the wrong sides of one each of the B2 and B3 tubes, causing one side of the stand to not come together correctly. I had to work around this dilemma by reversing the directions that the bottom tubes pointed. This caused them to point out on each side instead of turning in to the middle and joining. So, one side of the stand assembled as expected, but the other side didn't. They may be giggling about this in China, but I think my make-do, work-around assembly may actually be more stable than the proper one, although not as snazzy looking. Anyway, the contraption seems to work fine and I'll keep the thing rather than mess with taking it apart and sending it in for a replacement - mainly because I might just get another box with wrong parts if I do. By the way, the tumbler I bought was the one with the dark green trim. If you order from one of the other sellers with different color trim, you may not have a problem. Good luck. It's the price we pay for cheap goods, I guess. (pun intended). Try buying a $20 toaster and see how such a simple device can be badly designed. Looks nice on my kitchen counter though.

Pretty good, but lots of fruit flies
This composter is pretty good. It seems quite sturdy, but there are quite many holes for ventilation. You know, the fruit flies can go in and make babies in the compost. In the summer, there were so many of them, when I open the lid to put more kitchen scraps in there, the fruit flies just attack me. I think it will be helpful if they use some sort of mesh to cover those holes so the fruit flies cannot go in.

Good & Bad
Ok, I was not happy there was no PAPER instructions. It's being installed outdoors, I can't watch a DVD from the patio, or a teeny tiny video from my phone in the sun light for that matter. What were you thinking???? I put it together in the house so I could watch the DVD (again, DUMB). Then had to carry it outdoors, it's heavy. Second problem. The video says to attach all seven panels after putting the doors on first. DON'T DO IT!!! I of course, paused the video at that point and attached all the panels and had a problem at the last panel, started watching the video again and had to tear three back out. Just leave three uninstalled and watch the rest of the panel video (Zzzzzzzz) taking note of how the last one goes on. BE SURE TO FIT IT OVER THE BENT PRONGS INTO THE HOLES, this is probably where everyone is having trouble with misaligned door problems. Also, watch closely about the leg assembly for the push buttons to be in the right location. Also pray you have the two nuts that fit the long bolts at the end of this mess, they are not separated from the boatload of other screws and nuts, which will be scattered everywhere after this cluster.... Other than that, it seems pretty sturdy. Just the right size. I will see how it takes the South Florida salt air, I suspect the stand will rust out within a year. Hopefully the plastic doesn't leach toxins...
