Accurate when not in direct sunlight
As stated by the documentation & confirmed by other reviews, to avoid inaccurate readings, do not place the Eve Weather in direct sunlight or where it will be constantly exposed to rain. Otherwise, it works well & I'm looking forward to Matter support later this year. Also, worth pointing out- I ordered this as "New" but was clearly sent an open-box item by Amazon: Missing protective film & the display was already initiated. Since it didn't have any scratches, I opted to keep & reset it rather than get a replacement. Hopefully there's nothing wrong with the device, and this decision doesn't come back to haunt me.

Got it working with Home Assistant, original attery lasted 5 months.
[updated 5 months later] A few weeks ago the device got kind of flaky and would drop off the network and reappear. Eventually it died. I contacted support wh suggested replacing the battery. I informed them that the battery level indicator had been showing 100% but support said try it anyway. I did and it started working again. Apparently the battery indicator is not working right now and is not to be believed. Eve Engineering is aware and working on a software fix. I was a bit disappointed that the battery lasted only 5 months. We’ll see how long it NEW battery lasts. The documentation says a battery should last 1 year. So..1 star off for non working battery indicator and possibly shorter battery life than advertised. Matter support is still planned for “later this year” [original review] Although not “officially” supported I was able to get this weather station working with Home Assistant. You do need a thread border router and HomeKit to get it primed but just for initial setup. 1) First pair with HomeKit (this is required add the device to your thread network). Press button on back and put it on your Apple TV. Follow pairing directions. 2) Once you can see it in HomeKit and the Eve app, delete it from HomeKit. Unless you reset it, it will remain on your Thread network even if deleted from Homekit. 3) Press (do not hold) the button on the back and then look for the Weather Station in your devices in Home Assistant (it will appear as a Homekit device). I had to put it on top of my Apple TV too. 4) Add it via Homekit Controller add-on to Home Assistant. Done. Things to keep in mind: As of right now the Eve app only works with Homekit so all the stuff you get in the app like hyperlocal forecasting and firmware updates will not work - it will have to be re-paired with Homekit for firmware updates. Eve Weather Station runs on Thread but DOES NOT support Matter yet. Eve promised it’s coming via firmware update but as of right now it uses Homekit over Thread so Home Assistant is able to use it via Homekit add-on NOT Matter. So yes it works, you do lose some cloud based functionality but if you want all local with no dependency on cloud and no data leakage then this will work.

Works good, but it absorbs heat cause black screen and metal.
The Eve Weather is an outdoor Smart Thermometer that connected via Thread to you Apple HomeKit. They state do not put it in a location that is in direct sunlight or where it will get rained on....um, doesn't that defeat the purpose of a OUTDOOR device!? No matter where you put it, it will, at some point during the day, get direct sunlight and will get wet. I have one mounted on my 3rd floor apartments patio area, on the wood window trim of my bedroom window, it will get direct sun in the morning hours, and rain as there is no covering to my patio as I am on the top floor. I do not care about the LCD on that, never will even be looking at it. I just wanted the temperature to be shown on my phone in the Home App so that I can see how hot the air is at my window, and decide if I want to use my portable AC unit, or a window fan. And possible to set up some automatons. I also have a Accurite weather station standlaone outdoor temp sensor mounted below the Eve Weather as well. I have noticed that, due to the design of the Eve Weather, having the black LCD, and Metal frame, it absorbs heat and affects the temperature reading. The all white plastic of the Accurite device sensor, does not even get hot to the touch, where as, the Eve Weather is so hot it nearly burns you. The temp reading is about 20 to 25 degrees hotter than the plastic Accurite. The Eve app, is ugly and looks like it was made in 2010. Really needs a new polished and more intuitive UI. The button cell coin battery is very annoying. Wish they used AA or AAA as those are easy to find and the Energizer Lithium cells in those sizes last for over a year easy, and work in very cold weather too. Overall, I could not find any other device like this, a outdoor HomeKit Thread enabled temp/humidity sensor. It is overpriced for sure. I wish they made a cheaper, non LCD screen version, for those of us that just want to view temp info on the phone, and not on the device it self. I have also gotten a few more of these to use indoors. Really wish the LCD was not the black (inverted) style design. The LCD is rather hard to read unless you are at the right angle. A normal white background, black numbers LCD type would have been much better. Even better, a e-ink type display would be super easy to read. It also would be nice if these worked with Google Home, as I do also have to use Google Home for certain smart devices/appliances in my home that do not work with HomeKit, and, in case I ever do go back to Android as my main mobile platform. However, i realize that Eve Energy company is by design only for Apple users.

Excelente sensor

Good until -18c. After that doesn’t read well
Good product in general. There is not indication about specification of product concerning temperature range or humidity accuracy. I asked to seller who answered me, the range was -18c to 55c. In Canada we have often temperature below -18c. I tested these days. The sensor’s response until -21c, even though between -18 and -21 the accuracy is not good. After that it did stuck value around -21c. When temperature goes up over -20c, the sensor starts to work again. Accuracy It is good enough for my needs on automatisation routines. It would be very appreciated if manufacture could extend range until -25c instead -18c. It will be another coldest wave in two days. I suppose behavior will be the same , if not I will update the review.
