Incredible

Been working for hours on that rusted in flange post. I tried all the techniques, heating and cooling, hitting it, soaked it in penetrating lubricant, filed it square to get a vise grip on it, it just wouldn’t budge. I put that extractor on it and in less than a minute the post was out. I wish I had found it sooner, it’s worth its weight in gold.

saves your butt when nothing else will!

I had a stud frozen into a welded nut by corrosion. You WILL need significant access to the bolt, maybe 1" or more of the bolt protruding. The tool needs to rotate some to bite into the stud before you start spinning the stud out. With only 90 degrees of swing with my breaker bar, I was able to get it out. It took some getting used to- you need to hold the tool stationary on the stud with one hand, rotate your wrench for it to bite in, then you can begin spinning. Basically, if you can only rotate your wrench 90 degrees (or whatever your restriction is), you need to get the tool to bite in as close to 0 degrees as possible.

Performs well. Too well...

I needed to remove a bolt I over torqued and snapped I believe because I used a foot long extension to reach it. It held a motor mount for my daughter's car. I needed to get the bolt out soon, so I ordered 3 separate solutions. One solution was a super, amazing bolt remover by MAC TOOLS SXE7RBRTROR I found from YouTube videos that cost about $270 (Trust me, it is worth it!). Another solution was this stud extractor. If there is enough material to gain purchase of, then this will work well. I tried this relatively inexpensive stud extractor and it worked well, too well. I was really hoping to use my new "toy" from MAC TOOLS, lol. ???? I don't regret buying this Powerbuilt 648639 1/4" to 3/4" Stud Extractor,SilverClear for sure.

Life saver!

This has saved me from more invasive, drastic measures on multiple occasions. It's well made and easy to use. I wish I would have found this earlier in life if for nothing more than the time it saves over welding or other techniques to remove a stripped bolt or the like.

Good Tool, Works, needs room to spin

Used this to extract a broken body mount bolt under my truck. It was hard to use in a tight spot because it has to spin weird and be in a good position. But it was large and able to grab the stud. Worked out and got the job done. If you don’t have a lot of room it could be tough to use.

Decent build quality, fair price and excellent result.

Used this to remove a broken stud that I was unable to budge with vise grips and heat. Came out instantly. It’s fairly large so it requires at least 3” of clearance to fit the tool and ratchet in place.

It works

Under the right conditions this works very well. I used heat, and I had ample space to turn it with a long breaker bar. The mechanism makes it look like you might have to turn it the opposite way, but this is not the case; it grips and then the whole unit turns. You need a lot of room for it to spin. I was nervous to use it on a broken subframe bolt, because if it didn't work the threads on the stud would be completely gone, removing other options. The bolt was very cross-threaded and bolt extractors were not working for me. I was right, the stud was obliterated, but it sure worked! The bolt took some threads with it so I had to tap it out after. Explore gentler options before using this if you can.

Somewhat usable

This works fairly good but it takes up so much space I had a very hard time making it work for the reason I bought it. In the right place I can see it being a great tool, and for that reason I'm going to keep it. I would just suggest others looking at this, double check the size of the tool and the space they have available where they need to use it before purchasing.
