For 2 bucks, this is just a must-have tool for everyone
Screw/bolt extractors in general are the absolute worst. I have no idea why but they are, the metal is either softer than the bolt and won't bite into it, or if thats not the case then it's going to be a poor design that won't bite either when you try any other type/brand besides these Irwin extractors. They've been around for so long for a reason I guess. Went through $100 in extractor sets and wasted 3 whole days of my life stressing over a couple of broken bolt heads recently until I ordered the "old-school obvious choice" irwin's. This was a follow up purchase with a few other sizes after paying $12 and grabbing the size I needed from lowes because thwse are the only type of extractors they even carry, not thinking there was any way it could be any better than the high dollar sets I had already purchased... ya... had both bolts out in a matter of 10 minutes of pulling up in my driveway after 3 days of blood sweat and tears over those stupid things lol Bottom line is, don't break screw or bolt heads off in your work, be patient and let the penetrating oil do it's job unlike me with my 700ft lb impact wrench breaking off 2 heads back to back because I did the opposite of that. ...so if your at all like me, or you own a milwaukee fuel impact wrench or better, that youre planning to use older rusty equipment and occasionally find yourself living on the edge when you run out of blaster to soak them in for an entire day before hand??...then yep, like I said. At this price these smaller sizes area must have tool nokatter who rhe box belongs to, but in my case I've collected just about every size of these Irwin extractors now withing a momth of buying the first one and hating myself for not just going to lowes and grabbing the thing 3 days earlier before those 3 days of torture & wasted momey even had a chance to unfold. The things are not cheap jn-store so I just keep each size in my cart and as soon as I see them for under $6 each I just grab whichever one it is just to know I have it now lol. It's really up in the top 10 tools in my box even if I never break another head off again. The peace of mind when I'm working and I know that I can afford to be a little risky now because I've got my plan B buried in my toolbox is worth every penny lol

Broke on first try
Attempted removal of rusted set screw in backflow adapter on a hose bib. Set screw had been broken off by the installer per code regulations when the adapter was placed on my hose bib several years ago. Drilled appropriate sized hole in set screw, inserted extractor and gave slight turn counter clockwise no more than moderate wrist pressure. Extractor broke immediately like it was an icicle. One degree to the right of totally worthless.
