Quiet and efficient!
This bath fan is super quiet and keeps our biff moisture free.

3 Switches and bright light
Still in remodel stage. BUT when I purchased I did not realize it required 3 switches for each function to work independently. I chose to wire a double outlet with one switch for the light and the double switch to operate the fan and the humidity control fan. Also the light is quite bright and could replace a light over the vanity mirror. I used an electrician for the wiring.

It's a good fan.
I. Love. This. Fan. We bought this for a new bath fan install in the bathroom - that is, installing a fan where there was none before. We wanted something that was automatic, that was low energy, and that was also not super quiet so folks could have some privacy while they did whatever they people do in bathrooms. This fan does all that and more. Installation is a... breeze... The instructions were clear, and the thing well machined enough so that we were able to get it into place relatively easy. While I don't recommend it, I was able to install it by myself, without any help and especially without help from my cat who mostly watch with a disinterested flair. It's more amazing than it sounds, because I have the carpentry skill of a hollow rock. This fan comes with two important things: an on-board humidity sensor, which can be adjusted or disabled; and a modest blue nightlight, which cannot be disabled without covering it or breaking it. The humidity sensor is lovely - it's very cool to be able to just take a shower and have the fan come to life when the humidity rises to a set level. It's also very cool that you can leave the bathroom and trust that the fan will turn off on its own once the humidity drops back below that same level. You can also override that feature so the fan is always on, or wire it so that you can have the fan use the on-board humidity switch AND the wall switch, which kind of blew my mind. The light is actually really nice. The little blue light is always on and reminds you that everything is just fine. It also shines enough light into the bathroom that you can take a shower with romantic electric blue ambiance if you'd like. You cannot, however, turn it off. The blue light turns to amber when the thing is actually running, so I guess I lied about the part where you can take a shower with a blue light. Sorry. Wiring is easy enough - while my carpentry skills are nil, my wiring skills are modest. Mostly I replace fixtures and outlets. Wiring this up, even with the more complicated switch power AND sensor power circuits wasn't too complicated. The diagram is helpful, and the online site has another if you somehow lose yours. Last thing is the sound - some of the reviewers will tell you that you cannot hear his thing when it's on. That is definitely not my experience. You can hear this thing just fine, and that's just the way we wanted it. It's not overpowering - you can still have a conversation on a cell phone, for example - but it's louder than quiet. That might be a facet of how we had to route the ducting in the crawlspace more than anything, but something to consider. All in all I'm happy with the investment. It's a good fan.

A few catches to know about
there are 2 wiring options - a) two switches (already hopefully) b) single switch i went wired it up using a single switch as it was a replacement, which is basically turns it on if you flip it on.. Regardless, it comes on when the selected humidity level is detected, no matter the position of the switch. in the later case, there is no "off" until the humidity level has subsided. IF your house isn't a passive house or extremely tight, the humidity in the air from rain can keep it on despite no one in the shower when using single switch wiring. i do like the auto - on feature; can't rely on kids to turn it on so this at least does it for them. Ignore the sizing charts (which are minimums, like all housing codes), those are stupid. It takes too long to dehumidify - i would recommend "oversizing" if i was doing it again. Installed with ceiling (attic) access, built an xps (r10) box around it and a can of foam to seal it up - it's tight!

Really Moves Some Air, Quiet As Hell!
I recently went on a quest to replace the 4 pretty much useless 50cfm builder grade exhaust fans in my home, with the intentions of installing quieter, higher cfm, Energystar models. The reason, removal of moisture in the bathrooms caused by long hot showers....I have 4 lovely ladies so the showers are always in use. I also didn't want a product that sounded like a small prop plane was taking off in my bathrooms or laundry room either. Did some research and settled on this. Insatlled in my guest bathroom with only slight drywall shaving for fittment. The entire housing is sealed off, keeping household air leakage down. Further added to that by using Good Stuff expanding foam to seal the small gaps and inconsistencies between the box and drywall. Please not this requires 4" exhaust plumbing to connect to the exhaust of the fan for maximum performance. An 8ft section can be obtained at your local big box home improvement store for under $20.00. Fired this baby up, and could feel the air coming from under the closed door as it was drawing it out of the room. This fan is 1.5 sones (which is a measurement of how loud something sounds to the ear), which isn't quite half of the standard builder grade fans typically installed in houses (mine were 2.5 sones), but is easily half as quiet. Since I installed about 3 weeks ago, no more foggy mirrors or condensation buildup on the bathroom walls from the steamy showers!

Does not toggle between modes - would need 2 switches
The fan has a good profile and is nice and quiet, but not virtually silent. After I am done with a shower there is just barely a bit of moisture starting at the top edge of the bathroom mirror and it clears within 5 minutes, so it works great. After it was installed by my contractor I couldn't understand why toggling didn't switch modes as I had been reading. This fan basically turns on at 50cfm and will increase to 80cfm after a set humidity point is reached and then go back to 50 until I flip the switch off. I could set it to run at 0cfm and leave the switch on all the time but then we couldn't just run the fan whenever we wanted. Through my internet search I found the fan I thought I was buying was the Signature series. With that fan you can use a single switch to toggle between the two different modes so you can leave it on the humidity sensing mode and toggle to manual on for those times you need odor control. My advice is read the descriptions very carefully as it gets confusing as the fan descriptions, especially for these two models, are very similar.
