First off I'd like to say that these should not be considered replacements for traditional stick chem lights in most situations. The light output is nothing like that of a good stick chem light. However, for marking and identification purposes these work very well and are much more convenient to use than a stick chem light. They pack very small in a cargo pocket, tactical vest pocket, or IFAK. The adhesive backing sticks pretty well to most clothing however will slip off with aggressive movement such as running and do not handle moisture well. The light output is sufficient to identify at up to 75-100 yards with the naked eye but become pretty faint, at least to my eyes, past that. The "burn" time on these was exceptional, staying at full brightness for about 8 hours and continuing to glow for at least another 10 hrs dimming slowly. We use these mainly during tactical/combat medicine courses to mark "bodies" that need treatment or have been treated. They can be a great organizational tool that can be used with a color code system to identify types of injuries and treatments. Being able to write on them is useful as well, you can for instance indicate blood type, time of treatment/injury, etc. They are also useful for marking team members for night simulations. It would be great to see an IR version of these at some point. I would certainly recommend these for certain applications but not as a true replacement for the use of a traditional stick chem light.

Amazing great product 10/10 100% Recommended

Definitely the brightest out of all the colors I have purchased which is all of them I have not received orange which is the last color out of red blue yellow and green the green is definitely the brightest I’m hoping the orange is super bright but there’s nothing like good old fashion green glow sticks and they go for a lot longer than the 10 hours as advertised in the item description very durable and they need wow factor 100% well by again and I won hundred percent recommend this product to anybody that is interested in this type of stuff

Lasts MUCH longer than advertised!

As soon as I saw this, I had to have it. These are great. Durable, very long lasting, high cool factor, (military uses em). I have been a camp ground security 'official' (lol) for many years and I can think of many uses for these. Inside of tent, trail markers, stickin em on my 'securi-cart' (lol), illuminating trip hazards, etc. Anyway the price is a bit high, but they are new, so..What made me feel much better about the price was the fact that I cracked one at about 1:00 pm and by 3:00 am it was still generating enough light for me to get around fine in a dark house in suburbia. (So fifteen plus hours, they are advertised at ten, I believe) Only drawback was short shelf life. (like a year).

Cyalume Visipad.... Get the cheaper on if you need it.

There are two different types that Amazon sells. The cheap ones and the expensive ones. Definitely go for the cheaper one, they are made by Cyalume and put off the same light. These are not meant for illuminating an area, they are meant for marking.

Does a great job for marking, they stick well, they are not really meant for illumination. The lightsticks put off more light. These are really meant to write on.

There are two types..... The $60 ones or the $28 ones

There are two types of vispads..... The $60 box of 25 or The $28 box of 25 The advertisement page suggests that one is made by Cyalume and the other is made by Chemlight. Upon receipt of these and the cheaper ones they are both made by Cyalume. I can't see spending twice as much on something just because it says "military' In most of my dealing with the "military" type light sticks they do not have a long shelf life compared to the 'industrial' ones.

Awesome, there just as bright as regular Chem lights but with the surface area you can wright on them making a very visible note. The adhesive is extreamly impressive as well, I will definitly be purchasing more in the future.
