1 5/8" outer diameter vent pipe retrofit
Ok, these are almost a direct replacement for my 1998 Sunline Solaris camper. Screw holes lined up perfectly. The base leaves a gap the whole way around the vent pipe. Will somebody make a plumbing vent pipe that fits snug around a 1 5/8" outer diameter vent pipe! Ok, my vent pipe has an outer diameter of 1 5/8" and Is 2" above the roof line. Got a 1 1/4" Inner diameter pvc coupling at a big box store. Marked the coupling around a 1/4" past the halfway mark. Put It In my vise (which has special pipe holding capabilities) clamp enough to hold coupling a little snug, not much. Used a hacksaw with a high speed blade to cut It fast. Cleaned up the cut end with a bench grinder very, very lightly and angled the cut ever so slightly so the plumbing vent base will slip over It without fighting It. Glued on the "custom" half coupler to the vent pipe. Slipped the custom plastics 43 base over the "custom" coupling that Is glued to the vent pipe. Now I have a perfect factory fit that won't allow bugs and rain to get Into my roof. NOTE: you need to have the camper vent pipe 2-2 1/2" above the roof line. My pipe was 2" above the roof line and 2 1/4" after I Installed my "custom rv vent pipe coupler". If your pipe does not stick out enough, you just cut the coupling where you need to make It be In the 2-2 1/2" range when put on the vent pipe. If your pipe sticks out more than 2 1/4" you need to cut your vent pipe to the proper length. Having the vent pipe at the proper length will put the end of the vent pipe above the vent pipe base and have the gap you need under the plumbing vent cap cover. Some measurements may vary as you screw down your base and apply butyl putty tape to the bottom of the base, so you might want to dry fit everything first to be sure your pipe will be at the right height. And don't forget to use Dicor lap seal after the vent cap Is finally Installed. Minus 1 star only because the hole In the center of the base made for more work for me to be able to use this product.

Exact Replacement
Exact replacement for my 2011 Eclipse Milan 25RKSG Travel Trailer. This product will fit many standard size ventilation pipes (1 1/4 - 1 1/2). This is a very simple DIY repair which can be done in several minutes. The vent cover does not need to fit tightly onto the vent cover; it is just a rain/debris cover to ensure nothing enters the ventilation pipe. As long as the ventilation cover allows airflow to escape from the ventilation pipe, it will work. Make sure you purchase some self-leveling lap sealant to ensure the roof of you camper/RV remains water tight. When installing the self-leveling lap sealant, use a liberal amount under the base ring to the point that it will squeeze excess sealant out when installing. I also covered the screw heads after tightening them down (Sealant will not prevent the removal of screws later if subsequent repairs are required). The self-leveling lap sealant never hardens fully rather remains a thick putty consistency after leveling out. For this reason, it is important to use the sealant on horizontal surfaces. The gentle curve of RV roofs is perfectly fine! The bonus about this product is the two part design, so if you happen to break the upper cap again, you could replace only the upper portion and save time and some money.

I wish I had waited and done more research
I like that I have ALL new vents on my RV and these are a good replacement for what I had, but now I know that there is a Better kind out there. >>The Newest ones that work are an Inverted Mushroom looking kind.<< I will run with these for a while and see how they work. But is I smell ANY Black-tank smells these are gone. Wish them Luck.

Simple. Great replacement.
Simple install, much better than what I was replacing. Like how you can unscrew just the top portion to get to the pipe opening.

Worked for me!
I have a 1988 Toyota Dolphin. My vent covers were old and cracked. These fit perfectly. I just took the old ones off and replaced them with these. Used both butyl tape and caulk. The screw holes lined up perfectly. It was very easy. Sometimes these little projects get more involved than you think they're going to but these worked slick.

Very easy replacement!
Took about a hr to replace the vent cover. Mainly because of cleaning off the tape sealant from the original vent cover on the camper roof.

Exact fit
Product fit great. Shipping was fast. It was exactly what I was looking for. A little thinner in plastic than the original but should still hold up.
